Recently reported EXTERIOR LIGHTING problems on 2008 Ford Edge

While driving with my 6 month old son in the car, i couldn't stop using my brakes! i almost crashed!! i looked up the symptoms online and everyone is complaining about this issue. it seems the brake booster fails and the brakes do not work!!! the other issue i have seen, hundreds of people complaining about rear tail lights blowing out and when changing out the bulbs, the bulb sockets are burnt and melted! mine are the same, burnt up and melted. it is a fire hazard waiting to happen!!

I bought a used 2008 ford edge, tail light bulb was burnt out soon after i bought it. went to change the bulb and discovered the socket was burnt up and melted. checked the other side and had the same issue! this could definitely be a fire hazard! googled the problem and found everyone complaining about the same issue!

I recently bought used 2008 ford edge. my tail light went out and when i went to change the bulb, i discovered the bulb and the whole socket to be burnt and melted. i took to google and found everyone complaining about the same issue!! this could definitely be a fire hazard, it has me worried with 2 kids in my car!!

The driver side brake/turn signal stopped working on 10/10/19 and when i removed the taillight the socket was melted together with the light assembly wish i had a hard time taking it apart, i called ford service department and they said there was nothing they can do about unless i pay to fix it, the car parts shouldn't melt that is why the vehicle is equipped with fuses to burn out before the vehicle catches on fire. the print on the melted part number is: 2u5a 13411-08 080651109

Dash board lights completely out. when car is in drive rpm not appearing also gauges not working. compass data error appears up with red battery symbol

Right rear tail lamp is burnt and turn signal no longer works. i've noted many instances of this occurring on line. there should be a safety recall as this has a fire potential.

Tail light and blinker baulb keep melting and burning

The door ajar light stays on, not all of the time, and causing the battery to die. i transport kids and travel so it is very stressful not knowing if my car will be dead or noy when i get back to it.

Vehicle continously fries turn signal lamps. i've replaced 12 of them since we bought it 4 years ago. every 4-6 months it actually melts the bulb housing and i have to pry it out. if the vehicle catches fire i plan to sue ford. no pattern to when they burn it. completely random but i've saved photos of each one.

When replacing my tail light i found that the socket for main brake light was burnt up. the light bulb was melted to the socket. i replaced the light and the socket but the driver side is still not working. i checked the passenger side and it was also burnt but not as badly. i replace the light in socket on that side and now it works.

Driver's door ajar light comes on. making a dining sound continuously, turning interior car lights on, and won't allow doors to lock. but the door is shut. this concerns me with the lights turning on at night, and what if i really do have a door that isn't shut. this can happen as soon as you start the car, or later while driving down the road.

Left rear tail light burned out check bulb come to find out the socket is burned brown and the socket very crisp falling apart due to over heated socket this should be replaced by ford. this may cause a fire hazard, take your vehicle to the dealer and have this checked before you have a fire!!! i found this when i checked to see if the turn signal/brake light were working.

Tail light assembly melted completed and burnt leaving plastic melted inside the light assembly. no warning, no fuses gone bad just the light completed melted the inside area where the bulb goes and the light assembly burnt completely. *tr

My brakes make a hissing noise when i press down.. i have to press all the way down to get it to stop. this is very dangerous.also, my back tail lite has had to be replaced 2 times because the socket got hot. also, my car jumps sometimes when pressing on the gas(transmission issue?) i have also had the gas tank replaced(due to a recall)

Tail light sockets melting causing the bulbs to blow and not work. have had to change both sides three times now. also the takata airbag has still not been replaced. the dealership stated they still do not have the parts to fix it. i am very concerned about both these things.
