Tl* the contact owns a 2012 fiat 500 sport hatchback. the contact stated while driving at approximately 65 mph the ride of the vehicle was not smooth. the contact that the check engine warning light illuminated and there was an odor of smoke in the cabin of the vehicle. the contact stated that the vehicle was taken to fiat of burlingame located at 2 california dr suite a burlingame, ca 94010, where the technician replaced the pcv valve seal and also repaired the cable shifter in the vehicle. the contact stated that the failure recurred. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 42,000.

Two weeks ago, i got into my car and upon starting it found that it was unable to shift into reverse gear (my car is a 5-speed manual transmission). following this incident i had the car towed to a garage, and after consulting a mechanic, i was told that there had been a failure with the shift cable bushings and that a total replacement was needed; i was also told that the 2013 fiat 500 had been issued a recall by the company for this very issue. however, after talking with a representative of fiat, i was told that my car's vin number was not in the recall group. as a result, i was forced to pay for the repair indepently. i am writing, at the recommendation of my mechanic, to request that my vehicle to be added to the recall group and that the repair expenses be reimbursed.

I stopped in a driveway and tried to shift into reverse. the car has a manual 5 speed transmission. the car would not shift into reverse. the only 2 gears available were 3rd, neutral, and 4th. investigation found that one of the 2 shift cables came off the shift lever on the transmission. this happened in a driveway, but could have happened in traffic, resulting in not being able to move the vehicle.
Oil presure light comes on saying stop turn engine off low iol pressure after i drive it for about 10 mins i guess after it get hot. then chexk engine liggt comes with it. other people has and are going threw the same thing with 2012 fiat 509 sports. its all over the you tube why is this happing. i replace oil presure sensor and changed my oil same thing it didnt change anything asking for a recall on the oil pum or what is causing this. plus it makea a sound after driving at the same time it shows up while pushing gas pedal

Fiat's check engine light came on,and upon being diagnosed no codes came up for this car. soon after being diagnosed as a faulty code, my car suddenly stopped being able to change gears while the car is running, although it changes just fine whem it is turned off. the first incidence of this happening occured while i was driving and posed a huge safety hazard
While driving, i lost the ability to shift between gears using the manual shift. the dealer replaced the entire clutch and it cost me $2600. this lost of shifting is the subject of a recall for fiats by my vin was not included in the recall.
The shift cable for the transmission broke leaving me unable to accelerate while in moving traffic on a 4 lane state highway. the part is on back order and i have not had use of my car for over a week and possibly up to a month.
