Recently reported VISIBILITY problems on 1999 Dodge Stratus

Tl* the contact owns 1999 dodge stratus. the contact was driving 55 mph when the interior and exterior lights failed to illuminate. the contact also stated the power windows and door locks failed to work properly. the contact stated the failure was due to the wiring harness. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 92,000 and the current mileage was 92,100.

With no ryme or rythem, the winsheild wipers fail to turn on, power locks fail to work and turn sygnals fail. engine stalls and will not restart while in traffic for at least 30 seconds. these conditions happen while on the roadway and with children in the car , loss of ignition, winsheild wipers or turn sygnals can cause an accident or death.

Multiple failures, continually steering problems. engine leaked oil, no a/c or heated, ect. *bf the consumer stated that the steering wheel was loose. the consumer attempted to make a left turn and hit the curb due to the loose steering wheel. the consumer stated that there might be a problem with the right side axle. *tc

Consumer experienced head gasket failure. other failures included rear seat belt problems, no power on the back windows, egr valve failure, transmission shifting problems and speed sensor failure.*jb

Dt: consumer bought car in 1999. two years later transmission failed, and consumer paid $2,500 to replace it. consumer said that when she got into vehicle and sometimes when she left vehicle the doors did not lock, and sometimes the passenger side window will not roll down. consumer thought she had all this fixed, but problem recurred. dashboard shut down/gauges did not work, and tdashboard illumination malfunctioned. when consumer drove dashboard ca me on at once/gauges will began working, and light came on . consumer had to replace wiring and sensors, but problem recurred. *ak

Washer jets and hoses for windshield wipers are clogging and result in system failure to operate. this took three service calls to resolve and should be covered as a manufacture defect. i was forced to replace motor that operates the sprayers last year and the problem continued. per dealership, this problem is known and has not been published which means owners are being forced to pay for defective parts. *nlm

Both rear view mirrors are power and will not go downward with power button. *ak

Windshield washer/ wiper system failure - vehicle to dealer several times in last three years - dealer cut the washer fluid line to allow compressed air to blow out system - works for several days then plugs up again - it becomes a sfety hazard when you activeate the windshirld washer system at highway speeds and no fluid is dispensed - but the windshield wipers activate smearing whatever is on the windshield, causing very limited visibility.*ak

Tl*the contact owns a 1999 dodge stratus. when it rains, the instrument panel gauges, windshield wipers, and air conditioner become inoperable. the contact stated that the vehicle was a lemon because it has been included in two recalls and the windows did not work at the time of purchase. the contact believes that chrysler should repair the vehicle since the failures have been occurring since the day it was purchased. the vin and failure mileage were unknown. the current mileage was 5,000.
