Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 2500. while driving various speeds, the driver's side headlight would suddenly turn off and on. the light bulb was replaced on several different occasions, but the failure continued. the vehicle was examined by an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the tipm was defective and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 146,000. the vin was not available.

Turn signals fail to operate at times. other times they flash wrong side. happens moving in traffic on highway changing lanes or turning.

Tipm headlight issues. my 2006 dodge ram 2500 has the right headlight that continuously stops working. i have had the tipm codes cleared numerous times. this being headlights i see as a severe safety issue. i do not understand why dodge has not recalled this isdue. i have read in many places of how many people have had this same issue.

No high beam no low beam no turn signal right side.

The headlights failed due to the totally integrated power module (tipm). research reveals that the tipm failed on many of the dodge vehicles. this system failure is a safety hazard.

I have turn signals on my 2006 dodge ram 2500, but i do not have functioning trailer brake or signal lights through the factory installed towing package. this is the same problem no matter which trailer i am pulling. checking for voltage states that there is low voltage due to the tpim. this occurred at 84,000. also, while the vehicle is running the igination key can be pulled out. $1,000 is alot to repair a towing package and i do not know how long this would last.

Turn signal will flash the opposite signal than the direction you desire. example, turning on the left turn single will cause the right turn signal to flash, and vise versa, as well as causing the emergency signals to activate. i am unable to indicate to other drivers my correct direction of turn while driving in traffic or at a signal light, stop sign, merging, changing lanes, ect..

The truck will not power the left stop lamp or signal lamp on any of my trailers; however, the left signal and stop lamp on the truck work perfectly. dodge dealer indicated that the problem was in the truck's tipm which does not have a fuse for that portion of the trailer's lighting and burned out internally. dealership indicated that the only way to repair is to replace the tipm which costs $1026.00. dealership also indicated that this is a major problem on this vehicle which they have seen before. there is nothing to indicate that the trailer lamps aren't working except to physically observe them. this tipm also controls numerous other things in the truck and info from the dealership and internet searches indicate there are many serious problems occurring due to them malfunctioning. these are defective units that should be recalled. consumers should not have to pay over $1000 to make a simple light function, or deal with a worse problem.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 2500. the contact stated that the turn signals and brake lights malfunctioned on the trailers attached to the vehicle. the contact mentioned that no warning indicators illuminated. the contact stated that the failure occurred at any speed. the vehicle was taken to a dealer. the technician diagnosed that the amperage was incorrect and needed to be reset. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 83,000. the vin was not available. updated 12/03/15*lj

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 2500. the contact stated that the passenger side turn signal and brake light became inoperable. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the power module needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 83,000. updated 12/03/15*lj; 4/9/18 *jb *tr

I was driving down the road and the engine started dying then taking back off, then all of a sudden the speed odometer dropped to zero wouldnt come back up while i was still moving, then the abs light the check enging light and the brake light and washer fluid light all came on and i lost power to the tail lights head lights and the windows started rooling up and down by them selves. when i got home and turned off the truck i called the dealer and they said that it was the tipm and it would have to be replaced. they said the trailer i was pulling must of had a short and thats what caused it. i told them that i wasnt pulling a trailer and they called me a liar and hung up on me the windows continued to roll up and down untill the batt was disconnected. the next morning i then hooked the battery back up and it all worked fine. no problem a couple weeks later it started again finall found a short in the light control on the right tail light replaced the part that holds the bulbs and the problem corrected itself. now it has since started doing it all again but will not reset itself i contacted the dealer and they said that the tipm would reset itself five times then would have to be replaced. the veh was not pulling a trailer when this happened and the only trailer i pull with it has the lighting package working fine on all trucks i hook it to but not this one. please get the dodge company to recall these peices of junk im tired of paying 1200 dollars to replace a bunch of parts to find out its their piece of junk tipm causing all the problems.

Started truck to leave for work one morning and head lights would not come on. dealership said it has a bad tipm. *tr

While raining, windshield wipers would not come on. after switching the multifunction switch on and off several times, the wipers started working. the wipers continued to operate even when turned back off. wipers only turned off after turning multifunction switch several more times. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 2500. the contact stated that the turn signals malfunctioned on the vehicle. the turn signal lever must be held in the up or down position in order for the turn signals to activate. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the vin was unavailable. the approximate failure mileage was 174,000.

The tipm module failed and left headlight went out at night. repair shop did temporary bypass left side tipm output for low beam. headlights failed completely on both sides, high beam and low beam in august 2014. replaced tipm assembly on 9/19/14, $924.99 for parts and $112.50 for labor. *tr

Driver's headlight will not work even after putting in a new bulb, radio intermittently comes on and goes off and the trailer lights will not stay on. vehicle checked out by a certified repair shop and their findings pointed directly to a defective integrated fuse module box in my 2006 dodge ram 2500. requesting to file a formal complaint and to join any class action suits in place to help off set an estimated repair bill of around $1,000.00 by a local dodge dealership. the part a lone is $704 and it is set by chrysler and there is no finding a cheaper price. *tr

Lost turn signal on left side of vehicle also lost trailer turn signal was told at dealership it was the totally integrated power module was the reason .at first the signal would flash very fast then it quit all together. guess this is a common problem with dodge vehicles lots of post about it on the internet. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 2500. the contact stated that while driving 80 mph, all of the lights in the vehicle and the exterior lights turned off without warning. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the totally integrated power module was defective and needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 132,410 and the current mileage was 132,417.

Driving down the road and the headlights went out had to switch to high beams.there is nothing wrong with the bulbs it is the total integrated power module, lots of money to fix lights. *tr

Could no longer activate the high beams and windshield washer. after changing the multifunction switch was told the issue is in the tipm. need to replace power module associated with fuse box. *tr

Another issue with this truck tipm idling in driveway horn honks by itself lights high beams turn on and off by themselves blinkers work intermittently this truck has been a pain i have made a formal complaint about the ball joints they have been replaced 3 times in less than 51000 miles dodge dealer replaced them twice while under warranty but replaced them on my own the last time also steering gearbox snapped in half replaced that while pullin 18 foot trailer got stopped but could not get out of the road we spend alot of money on our trucks while dodge makes alot of money building junk i have been offered 35,000 for the truck but i wont sell it to anyone to have these problems. *tr

Exterior lights stopped working properly. no turn signal on driver side when headlights are on. also when headlight switch is on backup lights come on,cab brake light comes on,and driver side signal blinks rapidly lighting faintly the. *tr turn signal bulb, and running light with no brake lights.but he front driver side turn signal works. *tr

On multiple occasions when i put the left turn signal on, the signal will start flashing as though the right turn signal had been actuated. sometimes the right signal starts flashing as soon as i turn the left signal on. on other occasions i will be stopped with the left signal flashing and it will intermittently start flashing to the right for no apparent reason. occasionally neither of the signals will flash. *tr

The blinkers are erratic. the left blinker comes on when the right is applied and vise versa. the blinkers will switch sides in the middle of a turn and at times they will bounce back and forth between right and left turn. the windshield wipers will just turn themselves off at times and or speed up and slow down by themselves at times. seems very dangerous and a recall should be considered. at the minimum a technical bulletin describing the problem should be issued. this seems to be a common problem with this model. *tr

Driving in traffic at night and lost turn signals and brake lights on trailer almost caused rear end collision. found problem was with the tipm or fuse box. the trailer wiring from the tipm has no fuse and is some sort of relay and can only be repaired by a dealer. have found this to be a very common problem with other dodge truck owners. many different circumstances can cause this failure due to only a 15 amp limit before failure. dealers say they can do a reflash for around $100.00 and if that does not work the tipm must be replaced at a cost of $1000.00 and this would be the case each and every time there was a 15 amp overload to this circuit. this is a serious safety issue as dealers or not open 24 hours or 7 days a week and also very expensive. this should be a simple fused circuit as it is with almost all vehicles and the repair could be made by simply replacing the blown 25 cent fuse found at all gas stations and convenience stores. i hope no one has been killed or injured over this same type issue. *tr

Turn signals will switch back and forth. if you have left turn signal on, it will switch to right signal then back to left and vice versa. *tr

I have had the abs system warning light on 5 or 6 times , turn signal problems- both turn signals work at same time, a/c problems with the compressor not working at times and now is out all together. abs and the lighting issue is the biggest problem since it is a 2500 truck and i hall hay , tractors and a 30 ft 5th wheel trailer, people need to know what i am doing or can i stop. *tr

I noticed that my driver side headlight was out, and replaced the bulb. after having tried two new bulbs none worked. the low beam is out, but the high beam works. i pull trailers all the time and haul heavy loads. i noticed that it affects the lights on my trailer and this is a very serious matter. this can cause an accident. after looking this up ( failed tipm) there are many many complaints about these trucks doing the same thing, and a recall has not yet been issued. the dealership wants an arm and a leg to fix just one headlamp. i contacted chrysler and they stated that there is nothing they can do, i need to take it to the dealer and pay $1,000+ to have it fixed?!?! i am afraid that while driving at night my lights are going to fail and have an accident! we need to get this fixed immediately and consumers cannot afford to have it fixed as it is an ongoing issue with the same vehicle and part! *js

While driving, the headlights will go off by themselves. *tr

Driver side highbeam will not work. bulb is good, no power to socket. it costs $800 for a new tipm module plus programming. i cant afford to throw a thousand dollars at a vehicle every time a light goes out. i know that i'm not the only one with this problem. it wouldn't be an issue except the price now i am forced to wait and try to fix it myself. *tr

Low beam headlights went out while driving came back on and went out again turn signals operate backwards turn on the left and the right comes on. dealership says it is the tipm and it is a common problem, seems that it is an extreme safety issue to me that effects a lot of dodge vehicles. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 2500 megacab 4x4. the contact stated that the turning signal lights would flash intermittently and inaccurately. a local mechanic diagnosed that the multi-function switch needed to be replaced. the dealer and manufacturer was notified of the failure. the vehicle was repaired. the failure mileage was 130,000 and the current mileage was 133,000. updated 02/27/12*lj updated 03/07/12

Wrong direction of turn signal comes on when activating the switch. *tr

While towing trailer back left blinker and back left brake lights failed to work. then back left blinker on truck stopped working. . problem is in the vehicles computer, dealer only item that cost $712. some thing called "tipm". just type in blinker problem for dodge ram on google and watch and see how many other people are having this hudge saftey problem. please look into this problem, peoples lives are at on the line!!! thank you *tr

The turn signal switch the opposite of what has been selected on the steering column. if the left turn is selected the right turn lights come on and indicate you are making a right turn. the high beam switch does not always work. the wipers are not reliable either. *tr

got a letter from chrysler that i was supposed to get my turn signals fixed if i had this problem i did have the problem but it doesn't happen all the time, took the truck to dealer and they told me that they will not fix this turn signal problem if it isn't happening when they test it at dealer it is an intermittent problem and does not happen all the time but i believe that this is a major safety issue because if i am signaling one way and my truck is showing a different way that could possibly cause a crash or cause me to get a ticket. i believe this should be a recall and not just be fixed if the dealer can see it for them selves and was told by the dealer and chrysler customer assistance that they will do nothing if they don't see this problem at dealer but i could be any where and if it happens im supposed to stop what im doing and take truck over to them and hope it is still doing it when i get there other wise o well. that's pretty much what i get from them. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge 2500 mega cab. the contact stated the front left and right turn signals failed to illuminate on the outside of the vehicle. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer and the manufacturer was not contacted. the vehicle was not repaired, and the vin was unknown. the failure and current mileages was 109,300.

When driving in rain at a safe speed, wipers would not come on, and then the wipers would start and stop working. when i switched on a turn blinker, both blinkers began to flash. our local dodge dealership says there on back order 4,000 of this part required to fix this problem. there have been complaints about this since 2009. does it take a loss of life for a recall to take place? *kb

I own a 2006 dodge ram 2500 megacab with 5.9 diesel engine. the agency has received three reports of improper turn signal function. the complainants report that moving the turn signal stalk to signal a left turn can result in no flashing of the left turn signal but improper flashing of the right turn signal. likewise the same opposite improper operation occurs when moving the turn signal stalk to signal a right turn. the incorrect flashing signal appears at both the dashboard indicator light and at the exterior front and rear turn signal lighting positions. there are many complaints related to this issue on the web and it is very dangerous. please advise. *kb

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 2500. the contact stated when the left turn signal was activated the right turn signal began to flash. the contact stated when the lights were on the windshield wiper fluid activated. the contact stated the indicator relayed the incorrect information causing the wrong signal to work or potentially cause a crash. the contact stated the entire electrical system on the steering column was faulty. the contact took the vehicle to a local mechanic who stated the multi-function switch needed to be replaced. the contact did not have the multi-function switch replaced. the failure mileage was 112,000.

Dash lights stopped working. they had went out once before but came back on the next day. after another day they went back out and haven't worked since. *tr

2006 dodge ram turn signal/wiper multifunction switch malfunctioning. if left turn signals are activated, the right turn lights flash. if rights are activated, no lights flash at all. have found many other owners of same truck with same problem and no recall by chrysler. *tr

While pulling a trailer the left side brake and signal does not work. this is due to a faulty tipm. the trailer lights work on all our other vehicles. we were actually pulled over by the state highway patrol because of it. this is a severe safety issue and from the research i've done it is a common compliant with the 2006 dodge ram 2500 models. we were told by our local dodge dealership that every time this happens you have to take the truck in and have it "reflashed" but it can only be done 5 times. after that you have to replace the tipm but then you start all over again with it happening again. the tipm is not equipped to handle the tow package. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 2500. the contact stated that when the left directional signal was engaged, the right turn signal activated instead. in addition, the windshield wipers also failed. the contact stated that the failure was contributed to the multi-function switch. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 96,000 and the current mileage was 112,000.

Headlight failure tipm fails to allow headlight to illuminate and costs $900.00 to replace. vehicle only had 51,000 miles. *tr

The turn signal light will sometimes not work or work by itself, the wind shield wipers will some times not work, the truck has 200,000 miles on it the problem at this stage has not be corrected. *tr

The left turn signal activates the opposite or both left and right turn signals. *tr

2006 dodge 2500 / turn signal problems. *tr
