Right turn lights flashing when left turn. signal activated. *tr

Multifunction switch in dodge ram 2500 defective. blinkers when activated blink for the wrong direction, or not at all. sometimes when they do activate they wont turn off. hazard lights are also affected. could cause an accident because from in the cab the blinker will show left turn but the right turn blinker will be blinking and vice versa. or blinkers may show to be activated but are actually not. wipers may start or stop with no warning. the blinker issue will cause an accident eventually, it probably already has. wiper function is intermittent or no at all, problem occurs without any sort of warning. *tr

Turn signal displays right turn when put in to left turn mode. as well as inadvertently jumping from left turn to right turn. also, windshield wipers will be inoperative during the times when the turn signals are acting screwy. *tr

2006 dodge trucks run their trailer stop and turn lights through the computer in the truck. any surge or pop from hooking up the trailer will cause the lights to not work. their is no fuse for trailer lights but there is for the truck lights. if you plug your trailer lights in ond touch it wrong you no longer have stop or turn signals for the trailer. your only option is to go to the dealer and for 110.00 they will check the computer to see if they can reset it or if you need a new computer for your truck. this causes you to drive around without lights since you have no ability to fix them yourself. *tr

Back in june of 2009 my right turn signal and brake light for the trailer stopped working. then it started working again for a day or two. now the have been out since i talked with one of the mechanics at the local dodge dealership and he told me that they have had an issue with this all along and that the only fix was to replace the main power box under the hood. i still have no right turn or brake light on my trailer. if dodge know that they have an issue with this electrical unit shouldn't they have to repair the issue under recall warranty. i shouldn't have to pay thousands of dollars out of my pocket for a problem that they know they have and refuse to address. i have been searching the internet about this issue and have seen thousands of complaints for this very issue. what can i do or who do i need to contact to get after dodge so they will repair their problem with the electrical malfunctions they have. is there any legal recourse that can be taken such as a class action lawsuit. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 2500 quad. the contact stated that the turn signal lights were faulty. she attempted to activate the left turn signal; however, the right one would engage instead and the failure also occurred when she attempted to activate the right turn signal. the dealer advised the contact to have the signal switch replaced. the manufacturer was not notified nor was the vehicle repaired. the current mileage was 206,000. the approximate failure mileage was 156,000.

These trucks have been sold with faulty electrical systems that dodge has not been able to correct with out costing the owners thousands of dollars. the tpim module constantly needs to be reflashed and replaced to keep your trucks electrical system working. they have designed this system so that the consumer cannot repair or even inspect the system which i believe is a violation of federal law. all of these vehicles have issues with the module and dodge has made millions of dollars because of their faulty part. this module affects lights, wipers, a/c, cranking system etc... this needs to be looked at carefully and dodge should be held liable to repair this problem. *tr

2006 dodge ram 2500 diesel- the turn signal indicator frequently activates the turn signals in the wrong direction. i've noticed that adjusting the tilt column corrects the signal in most cases. there seems to be a flaw in the signal system that causes a short or something of that nature. i've had this problem since 2007, within months of buying the truck. it was infrequent at first and i neglected to take it in while the truck was under warranty. now it happens almost every day. *tr

Issue: low beam headlight bulbs quit working, after several replacements, installing new bulbs (lamps) does not repair the issue. the vehicle currently has no low beam headlights, the vehicle only has high beam headlights. not drivable at night. tipm (totally integrated power module) is at fault according to dodge technician. the left (drivers side) low beam headlight went out in 2007, i replaced the headlamp bulb. ok. the right (passenger side) low beam headlight went out in early 2008. i replaced the headlamp bulb. ok. in 2012 ,both low beam headlights went out. i replaced both lamps.ok. in 2013, the right (passengers side) low beam headlamp went out. i replaced the right (passengers side) low beam lamp, but the light still does not work. i took to shop, and they attempted to repair, but could not locate issue. they said, no fuses to replace, it has a tipm module that controls the lighting. in 2014, the left (drivers side) low beam headlight went out. i replaced the headlamp bulb. still no lights. in 2014, i called the dodge dealer, spoke with service. the technician told me that this is a recurring problem with the 2006 dodge ram headlights, that it is probably the tipm (totally integrated power module) that needs replaced. the quoted cost of the tipm was approximately $800 and the labor about $150. summary: march 2015. the 2006 dodge ram is not operational except during daylight hours. it only has operational high beam headlights, no low beam headlights. all new bulbs. i cannot afford a repair bill of almost $1,000 to get a $20 headlight to operate by replacing the tipm . dodge needs to address this issue in my opinion. the issue just gets worse with time, and then, replacing the light bulbs does not help. *tr

2006 dodge ram truck with a long list of problems**cc the consumer experienced numerous problems with the vehicle such as ignition switch malfunctions, the ignition would not lock, shift lever, exhaust smokes excessively, the engine shutters and shutdown, transmission shifting improperly primarily in 2nd and 3rd gear, there were times when the consumer could not get the vehicle out of park. the head lights and tail lights come on and go off, the electric locks malfunctioned, various problems with the cab lights, the instrument cluster failed. *jb

Truck was purchased used with 16000 miles. at approx. 20000 miles, an anomaly with the turn signal occurred: a "left" turn input resulted in a "right" turn output to the signals (assumed front and rear). this was initially unnoticed by the driver, as traffic conditions were dense. upon beginning the left hand lane change, a check of the left mirror revealed a car overtaking on the left. upon review of the turn signal, it was observed that left and right turn functions were reversed. as this event occurred in dense traffic, the driver was forced to nurse the truck to the side of the road and attempt to rectify the problem. actuating the high/low beam control (on common turn signal stalk) rectified the problem for the time being. the truck was returned to its home address and then was driven to the dealer to demonstrate the problem. the dealer entered the problem into the system and a replacement control assembly was ordered. the dealer made no attempt to retain the truck due to potential life safety issues associated with the defective signal device. the turn signal subsequently failed in traffic, resulting in a minor parking lot accident. the truck was returned to the dealer and left there by the owner. upon installation of the new controller, the truck was driven from the dealership and sold. the dealership indicated that they had replaced 4 or 5 controllers in the 2005 series trucks and at least one in the 2006 series. *nm

During the first year of ownership an intermittent malfunction of hazard flashers and turn signals began . on occasion, the hazard flashers and the turn signals will not flash. at times, the turn signals will not cancel. at times, left and right will flash when only one direction is selected. finally, on occasion, the right or left will flash when the opposite is selected. this creates a hazardous situation when i'm executing a turn as other drivers do not know my intentions and i've angered some and had two near miss accidents. i've not had need for my 4-way flashers, but when i test them at the time of the signal malfunction, they do not function. this can be extremely hazardous in an emergency road side event. when the problem first occurred under warranty, i took the truck to the dealer and they re-programmed the ecm. this eliminated the problem for the remainder of the warranty. subsequently, it has gradually returned. i am not alone with this issue. please visit the following link: http://vlane.com/discuss-topic/1336/2006-dodge-ram-turn-signal-problem. *tr

Put turn signal on to make left turn, right turn signal activates. multiswitch bad, has happened three different times while towing a 30' travel trailer. each time dealer has replaced multiswitch. dealer will not give me the old part. *tr

2006 dodge 2500. when turning on the left turn signal, both indicators on the dash will flicker and the right indicator on the vehicle will actually be working instead of the left. this happens on a regular basis when driving this vehicle. it is now that i do not utilize turn signals for fear that vehicles will mis interpret intentions and cause vehicle accident. went to dealer and they are aware of issue recommending turn switch. *tr

This is an on going issue with my 2006 dodge ram 2500 . when driving at night sometimes when you switch the headlight from low beam to high beam they will completely go out or one side will go out. also sometimes when you turn on your left blinker your right blinker will come on. the dealer told me that this was from hauling trailers with bad wiring. i don't understand how a trailer that is not connected to my truck can effect the lights. my truck is no longer under warranty and there is no way for me to diagnose this problem. (you must have a chrysler computer to see what the controller is doing) i thought there were laws to protect consumers from manufacturers of cars that prevented them from making control systems that consumers could not access. *tr

2006 dodge ram 2500 turn signals don't work part time and part time turn on the wrong signal like turn on left and it turns on the right, also the wipers won't turn on some times and then won't turn on past slow wipe, when you turn on the brights it turns on the washer and wipers, i understand this is the same switch, the multifunction switch, dodge has redesigned it now twice according to a dealer but has not recalled it and charges high dollars to fix it up to $700.00 this is a safety issue and should have been recalled years ago what is the hang up for the recall? *tr
