Tl*the contact owns a 2007 dodge ram 1500. when the contact would shift into park, turn off the vehicle, and remove the key from the ignition, the vehicle would remain running. he called roadside assistance and the tow truck driver towed the vehicle while it was still running. the vehicle was towed to the dealer and a technician stated that the ignition switch was faulty. the vehicle was repaired under warranty. the failure mileage was 21,184 and current mileage was 21,439. updated 09/16/08 *bf updated 09/18/08. *jb
The truck wouldn't start. there was plenty of power from the battery for the lights, bells and horn but the truck wouldn't make a single sound. by pulling an ignition fuse to see if blown i accidentally reset a control module in the steering column. this worked for a while but eventually that trick no longer worked and i had to call the free roadside assistance i got by buying the truck. *tr
I purchased a ram 1500, from day one there was problems the passenger door stayed ajar due to bad sensor says dealership leaving interior lights on at all times and would ding everytime i took off from a stop. they said that the cluster was bad so they replaced it with one that read in kilometers instead of mph. later they replaced it with a cluster that read in mph. transmission grinds gears when put in reverse and jumps when put into drive. also transmission slips to lower gears when driving throwing me forward into the dash multiple times. nothing has been successful in repairing the transmission as of yet although they say that they reprogrammed the transmission. *tr
Transmission problems, looses reverse, makes a grinding noise, makes a loud whine sound when in drive. oil pressure gauge never moves, cd player skips with new cd disks, radio crackles and stations sound like there far away when they are local. *jb
Temp went high. stopped temp went down then check engine followed by over heating and electrical burning. engine quit and could not shift to park or nutural while smoke rolled out from engine compartment. police and city workers pushed truck off the road to parking area. disconnected battery. had vehicle towed in. *jb
I am an automotive engineer that specializes in automotive fire analysis. i received this case file. the vehicle is a 2007 dodge mega cab 4x4 diesel unit. the vehicle was brand new with less than 1,000 miles. the owner took it to a friend's house, parked it in driveway. several minutes later a neighbor noticed smoke coming from the vehicle. it eventually erupted into flames that caught part of the house on fire. i have traced the failure to a defect from within the power distribution module and battery positive feed for the same. *jb
