Vehicle currently has 60,000 miles on it. already had to replace the entire front suspension. transmission has a clunk and lunge after stopping and before taking off. all services maintained and fluids are new and clean, at appropriate levels. dealers believe it to be a software issue.
Takata recall having many issues with 2007 ram 1500 4x4 quad cab. transmission isn't acting right. something wrong with driver front wheel assembly, can not pump more than a few cents of fuel at a time when fueling. and just recently i could not get it over 30 miles an hour. engine did not rev seemed as if not getting fuel. *tr
I'm not starting from the complete beginning i'm starting from when it place the worst took to dodge cuz i had dying problems stalling out if i was driving to and from work mind you i drive 600 miles at a time one direction way home one night vehicle stalls out pulled to side of the interstate the vehicle starts back get down the road and it just stutters a little so i keep going get done with a little further they completely dies while i'm going through north carolina to tennessee the gorge as they call it no place on the side of the road semi beside me semi behind me no pull off to the left either hit a pot hole truck dies luckily in running about 90 mile an hour put the truck in neutral crank it no crank no start crank it again it starts popping in gear scared as hell get to the nearest gas station in worries that something else is going to happen to the truck trying to make to safe place i finally make it home truck did that couple more times on the way and stall out. i took it to dodge and they said it was the tipm well have them fix it got the truck back no fix there they did get two codes for the tipm problem on that day ended up being the ignition coils all of them had to be replaced prior to all this i had already been having stalling problem not dying chrysler dealer in greensboro north carolina look at my truck fan diagnostic said it was low amperage or something like that can't remember you can get ahold of him if you would like so they said replace the alternator and the battery so i did then the story i just stated took place. now again location greensboro north carolina going across intersection rear end goes out the only reason the truck even moved anymore is because it's 4-wheel drive i drove it almost 5000 miles like that before i could afford a new rear end to put in here. i could keep going but the problems of this year model. multiple dates

Three sets of rotors and brakes in two years, 4wd auto light flashing and works intermittently(just started plus electrical noise in dash and heat stops blowing. sounds like it's going to start on fire. i have to get to work so i have to drive it.(i have five kids a crabby wife and a granddaughter to feed), tie rod on drivers side went bad. so i had everything replaced. i've sunk allot of $$ into it and can't afford another penny. i'm concerned of all the complaints saying the computer goes bad causing the actuator to go bad as well. i hope it lasts long enough. perhaps you should just start a go fund me page to chrysler owners lol. it's a shame because it's a beautiful truck.
On the interstate at high speed i experience bouncing in rear end and when hitting bumps at high speeds rear end bounces severely and causes swerving.
So far i have replaced 2 tie-rods, 2 struts, an a-arm, multiple bushings and a few sets of tires and my vehicle has roughly 90,000 miles on it. i have noticed all faults while driving mainly on the highway
Bad and worn out tie rods, leaking front shocks

The wheel hub separated from my 2007 dodge ram 1500 due to the wheel bearing seizing up and exploding from the spindle assembly. *tr
Began traveling on a 4 land highway and had accelerated to 65 mph, the road surface is paved but has some winter heaves. after about 1 mile the front end began shaking violently and forced me to gradually slow to approximately 30 mph to fully regain control of the vehicle. not knowing if this was caused by rough road or the vehicle i accelerated again to the speed limit, 65 mph, and within 1 mile the same thing recurred, after safely slowing a second time i exited the highway and have refrained from driving the vehicle above surface streets speed. i am seeking info and assistance to remedy this issue. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 dodge ram 1500. while driving 5 mph, the front driver side wheel hub assembly fractured. the failure caused the front wheel, brake rotor, and brake caliper to separate from the vehicle. the contact also stated that the brake lines fractured. the vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. previously, the front passenger wheel hub assembly also fractured. the vehicle was repaired at that time. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. the approximate failure mileage was 189,000.
We were heading out of state on the interstate when all of a sudden the truck started shaking ferociously. my husband was driving and he slowed down. when he slowed down from 65 to around 50 miles an hour the shaking stopped. as he started to pick up speed again it started again. the shaking was so violent it felt as the truck would flip. as we were trying to find an exit to get off the interstate we crossed a bridge which was uneven and caused the shaking to begin again. after exiting the interstate and pulling into a parking lot my husband got out of the truck and looked under it expecting to find something broken or worn but he could find nothing that looked wrong. while heading back home it happened a few more times either when he got up to a certain speed or hit an uneven place in the road. the shake was frightening and it made the truck hard to maintain control to the point it felt like it was going to flip. it was a true 'death wobble'. after 3 months and 2 times in the shop with various front-end parts replaced and over $1000.00 spent the problem has not been corrected. we are getting ready to put it back in the shop for a third time on the 6th of april, 2015. we love our truck but we are concerned with the safety and reliability of it during our everyday use. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 dodge ram 1500. the contact felt a strong vibration each time the vehicle was started. the failure progressed under the front end of the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to a repair shop, but the mechanic could not replicate or diagnose the failure. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v817000 (air bags) and stated that the part was not available for the driver side air bag; however, it was available for the front passenger side air bag. the dealer scheduled the appointment to replace the front passenger side air bag. the contact had to wait for the driver side part, but was not given a timeframe for the repair. the vehicle was to be taken to an authorized dealer for further inspection. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 89,000.
While driving during normal road conditions, at approximately 60 mph, the vehicle will begin to shake and vibrate excessively. this usually occurs when a bump in the road is hit or when taking a curve in the road at the mentioned speed. shaking and vibrating only decreases when vehicle speed is reduced below 50 mph. have replaced shocks and in the process of replacing tie rod ends to see if this alleviates the issue. have also experienced issues with the vehicle shutting off during normal operation, the will sputter and stall out when coming to a stop, this issue has occurred four times in the past
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 dodge ram 1500. while driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle suddenly shut off. after restarting the engine, the vehicle operated normally. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the ignition switch was faulty. the ignition switch was replaced and the failure was remedied. the contact also indicated that while driving at highway speeds, the vehicle would drift from side to side and was very unstable. the vehicle was taken to the dealer and repaired. no further information was available. the manufacturer was notified of the failures. the failure mileage was 135,000.
Having problems with getting fuel to tank, transmission not shifting correct, constantly going through brakes and tires on from driver side.
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 dodge ram 1500. while driving approximately 15 mph, the rear differential separated from the vehicle causing the rear wheels to seize and the contact to lose control of the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the gear kit, the seal drive, the pinion, the seal axle, the drive shaft, and the case differential needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 154,262. updated 7/14/15*cn updated 9/11/2017*cn
My family and i were driving home a few days ago when suddenly the steering wheel jerked hard left while the front end of the truck started sliding into oncoming traffic. i corrected the wheel but it was so loose that we fish tailed the other direction. the steering wheel was violently whipping back and forth as i tried desperately to gain control. finally the truck straightened out and seemed to be functioning normally after the near catastrophic accident. the following day i took the truck and it started screeching like dragging metal under the drivers side floorboard. i got out to see if anything was dragging from the truck, but didn't see anything. i made it home but it was screeching off and on. the next day when i jacked the wheel off the ground to check under the car i found that the wheel was very loose. i started doing some research online to diagnose the problem and i soon found two recalls for my truck. the first recall was a faulty left tie rod assembly and another was an unreliable wheel hub assembly. i called chrysler corp. to get my truck fixed but i was told that it was not part of any of the recalls. i verified that my truck was on both recall lists and she agree while explaining every vehicle in that particular production wasn't recalled. *tr
Driving at approximately 55 mph on i 81 in virginia i ran into some rough pavement. the front wheels began bouncing causing me to lose control of the vehicle briefly. i had just purchased the vehicle and this was the first time it happened. i continued on my trip and encountered the problem on seemingly every expansion joint or every bridge. i had no choice but to continue to my destination, massachusetts. i did not make it however as the truck eventually spun out on i95 in ct slamming into a guard rail. i replaced the front struts, assuming that was the issue. it was not. it is not the alignment nor the tires. all were checked. after the repairs from the accident, then parts the problem persists. *tr
This is a megacab (solid front axle) and the front end started shaking so bad that i was not able to steer and it was very hard to slow the truck down. only reason it did not cause a crash was because the cars next to me were able to get out of my way fast enough. i replaced the track bar bushings, the steering damper, aligned the front end and installed an aftermarket steering box brace. the issue happened again 3 more times and i am no longer able to drive the truck because it is way too unsafe to operate on public roads. i have seen thousands of other dodge ram owners complaining about this same issue and it is nick named dodge death wobble. something needs to be done before someone dies, this is a very serious safety issue. *tr
When driving at speed and hit joint in road, steering wheel starts to shake violently. a search of the web describes what is called a "death wobble." this vehicle has this condition. everything in front end checks out fine. stock truck. this happens a few times a week. my wife refuses to drive truck. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the front of the vehicle began to shake. the vehicle was taken to multiple independent mechanics who diagnosed that the front brakes, the rotors, the ball joints, and the tires needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. however, the failure recurred. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 65,000.
On 2/6/13, at 5:30pm, while driving on the interstate, out of nowhere the truck started to shake violently pulled to the left, tried to brake (not working) driverside wheel sheared off the truck. *tr
My left side the struts have an issue, specially on the expressway. i've put new tires and brakes. it still shakes.
The outer tie rods are worn again. i had them replaced already once, at approximately 22,000 miles. don't think that they should wear so fast, this will be the 3rd set including the originals. i see that dodge has recalled the 2008 my and greater, but not 2007. i think with a late model 2007, chances are the parts are the same as the 2007 my. i think dodge should pay for this 2nd repair and provide some sort of warranty for it for the future. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 dodge ram 1500 quad cab. the contact was driving 30 mph when the front driver side tire detached from the vehicle, causing it to fall to the ground. the vehicle was towed to the dealer who inspected the failure and advised the contact that the hub was separated and the bearings had lost their lubrication. the vehicle was left with the dealer for repairs. the vin was unknown. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 64,539.
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated that while driving at 60 mph, the vehicle started shaking and vibrating excessively. the contact stated that the shaking was more aggressive on a bumpy roadway or driving on a curve. the contact stated that only decreasing the speed would alleviate the shaking or vibrating. the vehicle was taken to three independent mechanics however the mechanics were unable to diagnose the failure. the vehicle was not included in the nhtsa campaign number: 13v528000 (steering). the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 70,000.
I was driving on a highway and got off the exit. i stopped at a gas station for a drink and the road i had to get on, i couldn't make a left turn out of the parking lot, so i had to go to the next traffic light and made a u-turn. i went though a dunkin donuts parking lot and when i was about 20 feet from exiting the parking lot, it felt like my front passenger side tire went flat. i pulled into a parking spot, got out and looked at it, and to my surprise, the tire was leaning at a 45 degree angle. i had it towed to a dodge dealer and called chrysler/dodge and spoke to a case management person. i didn't get anywhere with him, but weeks worth of leaving voice mails and getting no return calls. i finally spoke to a supervisor and she called the dealer where my truck was, while i was on hold. finally, after 20 minutes, she returns and tells me there is nothing that they will do. they will not pay to fix it, or help pay for the repair and they will not pay my deductible to fix it and they will not compensate me in any way whatsoever. her reasons were for one, the warranty on my truck was over and i said, yes, i know and if there was, i wouldn't be calling you, and for two, she said that the broken part which was a broken upper ball joint, is a normal wear and tear item. i said are you kidding me? this truck is in like new condition and very well taken care of and it only has 56,000 miles on it. how do you consider that normal wear and tear? i said if it had 150,000 miles on it, then yes, that's normal wear and tear, not with 56,000 miles. i said you are crazy, she said , well sorry you feel that way, but we are not doing anything for you. i said this will be the last time i buy a chrysler/dodge product ever again and she said that's your perogative. i said nice to see that chrysler/dodge does not stand behind their products. ...updated 07/19/12 *bf
As i went through an intersection, the right side upper ball joint failed causing the truck to drop onto the tire/wheel. after i slid to a stop (without hitting anything), i got out and looked at the damage. it bent the tie rod, pulled the 4wd shaft apart, etc. the dealer looked at the truck on friday and said it would be aprox. $2k to repair it but the left side was also loose. i called chrysler customer service and was told, "nothing we can do, it's after the factory warranty". i found an online complaint form and filled it out. chrysler and the dealer talked and as of 1/19/2012, the total estimate was sent to dodge in the amount of $3000.00. customer service called on 1/23 and said that the dealer has agreed to drop the price by $500 and that dodge would pay an additional $500 leaving me to pay $2000. i told them that it was unacceptable based on the condition of the truck, the year, and the miles. i have never had a ball joint failure at 56,000 miles (i.e.-since '94, i have had over 300,000 miles on gm vehicles and ball joints have never been replaced). the truck is still sitting at the dealer without any repair done yet. i emailed customer service today and received a response saying that the offer stands as is. in my opinion, it is a manufacturer issue. i have contacted an attorney to see what my next step should be. even if it gets replaced, oem parts will be installed and i will have to worry about the front end failing again possibly causing serious injury. all i would like is to have dodge/chrysler pay the whole bill. as far as i know, dodge has not looked at pictures that i have provided nor has a factory rep. looked at the truck. i'm to a point where i want to trade the truck in as is for a different brand. *tr
Hit a bridge connecting strip , the truck vibrated violently it shook so bad the stuff in the door pouches came out of the pockets. i had to pull over to the side of the road an slow down to 25mph. after that i could only drive 48mph. i was on the interstate when this happened, luckily there was no one beside us, or there would of caused an accident. chrysler isn't owning up to the problem. the problem has happened about eight times now, i was told it was the stabilizer shock. i had the shock replaced, it would be ok for a wile , then back to the same issue. ( i was told this was the [death wobble]. *tr
Tl* the contact owns 2007 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated while driving 70 mph, there was an abnormal grinding noise from the front passenger side tire. the contact took the vehicle to a local mechanic where the mechanic noticed that the front passenger side bearing was worn due to lack of lubrication. the contact referenced nhtsa campaign i.d. number 07v038000 (suspension: front:wheel bearing) and called the manufacturer but the manufacturer advised that the vehicle was not included in the recall. the failure mileage was 100,000.
Drivers side front wheel bearing failed, lost all grease in bearing. *kb
I just bought the truck a week prior to the first time this happened. i hit a small bump in the road going about 55 mph. when i hit the bump the whole truck and the steering wheel began to violently shake. i could not control the truck. it felt like the front end of the truck had broken and was coming apart. i hit the breaks and it finally stopped shaking when i got down to about 30 mph. i pulled over and got out and looked around the truck, and i found nothing wrong with it so i slowly drove it back home. had it looked at the next morning and was told since it had only done it once that i shouldn't worry about it. it has been about 3 weeks since the first time it happened, and it has done it 5 times now. i took it to the dealership where i bought it and let them look at it, and they said they could find nothing wrong that everything looked like it was supposed to. 2 of the 5 times it has happened on the interstate while i was going about 65-70 mph and had to slam on my breaks in traffic to slow it down to try to get it to stop before i lost control of the truck, almost causing the driver behind me to hit me. i have done alot of research on the issue and found that lots of people are having this same issue with the same trucks and they are calling it a "death wobble", yet nothing has been done about it? i am scared to drive my truck on the interstate now because im afraid that has the potential to cause serious damage to my vehicle and others on the road if i lose control of the truck when it starts the violent shaking. this is a very dangerous problem, and i feel like there should be something done about it asap. *tr
During normal driving conditions on the interstate 64 in richmond va, i experienced the so called "death wobble" after going over a bridge expansion joint. the front of my truck began to vibrate and shake uncontrollably. it stopped once the vehicle slowed to approx. 45 mph.
I own a 2007 dodge mega cab 1500. i purchased the vehicle new and have had this issue almost from the beginning. this wobble has not just happened a couple times, it happens every time it is driven. i have tried to get the death wobble fixed several times. each time i was told it was fixed but for me to do something else too. i have added a leveling kit, replaced tires to the shops specs, shocks, front steering stabilizer and all of the work the dodge shop has done. the most recent event is that i picked up my truck from the dealer today from it being in the shop for the same reason i had it in the shop 4 other times. i was told the whole front end was fixed and promised the problem was taken care of. i paid the bill and left. i was 20 minutes away from the dealership and it started again. i pulled over and called the dealer. i was told no one was in service even though they did not close for another 30 minutes and to bring the truck back. the truck had already been there for almost a month. i turned around to go back to the dealer my wife was in front of me in her vehicle and the wobble started again. she moved over 3 lanes of highway because she thought i was going to flip the truck. the front right tire appeared like it was going to shake right off. i returned to the dealer and was told the only thing they could do was have me leave it again and someone would look at it tomorrow. someone is going to be severally hurt with this problem. i have tried everything i have been told to do and nothing works. there are no recalls, no investigations, no one seems to care. someone is going to have a serious accident or cause a death because of dodge's faulty equipment. what are we going to have to do before this problem is fixed? is it going to be another firestone tire issue? i cant afford to another vehicle but i can't imagine what could happen if it does not get fixed. *kb
2007 - dodge ram 1500 megacab has the 'death wobble'. while driving at highway speeds, if you hit a bump or pothole, especially while making a slight turn, the front end suspension shakes uncontrollably until you are able to reduce speeds to approximately 25 mph. when the truck is shaking steering is nearly impossible and slowing the truck while maintaining control is extremely difficult. it has happened often enough that i can nearly reproduce it on demand. i do not feel safe when the shaking occurs and fear losing control of the vehicle. *tt
I have a 2007 dodge ram megacab, i experience what ive come to hear people call "death wobble" in the truck. i bought the truck in november of 2010, the truck was inspected, i drove the truck on the highway, was driving at 100-120km/hr then experience a shaking in the truck, a violent shaking, much more severe then misalignment or part wear. i arrived in fredricton, got service done on vehicle, and had front end checked out, all was good. recently i was driving on highway and death wobble happened again, and sheared my outer tie rod end off. it wasnot a failure from the ball in the socket, it was the shaft that goes through the steering knuckle that was sheared off. called and asked dodge if they had any issuses with uncontrollable shaking in their trucks, aka death wobble they said they havent. i have a pretty good background in mechanics, i know the death wobble is not right, and ive never seen a tie rod shear off like that before. *tr
I bought this truck brand new in 07. i have had problems with the front end from day one. i took it in to the shop 3 or for times when under warranty for them to tell me nothing was wrong. the set of tires i have on it is the forth set due to wearing out. the truck pulls hard to the right, took it in for an alignment and was told it wasn't out & that something was wrong with the front end. this wasn't a dodge dealer. when you get up to 60 mph, the truck starts shaking very bad. if i hit a bump or go across a bridge, it jerks the steering wheel very bad & almost caused a wreck. i have replaced the shocks, the bushing's on the sway bar, & brakes and rotors thinking this could maybe be the problem. it still does it till this day. i seen where some 07 mega cabs have been recalled & in my opinion i think they need to take a look at all 07 dodge ram 1500 models.
The front driver side hub assembly on my dodge ram 1500 2wd failed after only 37,000 miles. *tr
Violent shaking of vehicle, (death wobble) front end shakes when above 60mph, the problem has been reported to dealer, several repairs made and vehicle continues with same problem. *tr
My truck shakes violently when i drive in excess of 57 mph. when i hit a bump in the road (specifically the seems between the road pavement and the concrete bridges) or am in a curve, the shaking is even worse. the only solution is slowing down to 20-30 mph. i have replaced my steering suspension, had my tires rebalanced, had my tires rotated, and had diagnostics checks on tie rods, struts, bearings, etc. to no avail. *tr
Front end shakes to the point that you lose control of vehicle this only happens after hitting a bump or uneven pavement at speed greater than 60mph you have to come to a complete stop to stop the shaking. *tr
I bought the truck 10/29/10 with 22 k miles on it and have 29950k now. i have had to replace the whole front end, rack and pinion steering system tie rod ends, leaky back window, third brake light, balance and rotate tires 3 times, rail dust, new carpet, leaky third light, new rotors and brakes at 24k, air cleaner, wipers. i questioned the front end when i bought it and was told it as just tires out of balance. when i picked it up and asked if the front end looked good because i noticed the front tie rod ends had a lot of play and i was concerned with issues due to that. i was told the front end was fine no problems with it. i later took it back and had all the front steering components replaced. i picked up the vehicle and had no alignment and was told they only set the toe. i had to keep the steering wheel a full half turn to the left to go straight. i paid for an alignment and the printout showed my toe was set under the specifications. i have tired unevenly worn due to bad front end components. i had to have the front head lamp replaced due to cracking inside the lens, a back seat that the latch did not work properly. after picking up the vehicle bolts that needed tightening due to carpet being replaced. i question how this vehicle was properly inspected and none of these things were noticed. i drive my daughter daily in this vehicle and it remains to have front end problems. i have done research and noticed a lot of issues with crashes relating to faulty front ends on these vehicles. it continues to remain unsafe. *tr
