Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. while driving various speeds, the low beam headlights became inoperable. the vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuse panel needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 214,552.

The tipm needs to be replaced. the headlights went out on me driving to work at 3:00 am (in the morning) pitch black out. almost wrecked or died. this is not something acceptable. there jhave been many complaints and nothing is being done. dodge has a problem here and it needs to be fixed now!!!

High beams will not work only low beams work while running down highway.

Tipm issue: low beam on driver's side went out while driving at night in a rural area; after buying 3 new bulbs @ $16/each with no luck, having system scanned by auto parts store with no luck, took to a dealer who said it was a know tipm issue and would cost upwards of $1,200 to fix, however part is on backorder due to the number of trucks needing them; flashing the system apparently was not an option; commented it was not a recall item as it was not a safety concern. how are losing your lights unexpectedly not a safety concern, not to mention the rest of the issues this tipm is known to cause after this one...it is the brain of the entire truck. i am now driving with high beams on praying the rest of the computer system is not in jeopardy while trying to resolve.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated that the driver side turn signal light failed to signal and the driver side brake light failed to illuminate. the failure only occurred when towing another vehicle. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

My truck has been having safety issues over time. most recently having over-heating issues and engine problems since february 2018. the electrical issues happened since last year, dashboard no longer lights up. my one of my front head lights no longer lights up. ive changed it several times and it still goes out. my driver seat beat no longer buckles.

After owning a dodge 1500 2006 mega cab for 4 years had to replace the multi function switch it stopped working had no wipers high beams or signals. 5 years later have the same thing happen seems like an on going problem with these switches. when the don't work make it a safety issue due to no wipers, signals, or high beams...

For more than 1 year, the tachometer in my dodge ram has functioned intermittently. on 3/25/15 i noticed that the driver-side low-beam headlight bulb was out. i replaced the bulb without effect. my mechanic diagnosed the tipm module as the culprit for both the headlight and tachometer failure. he will replace the module, at a cost of roughly $1000, when a replacement can be obtained. it is estimated that it will be at least 4 weeks from the time of diagnosis before that replacement tipm will be available. in the meantime, i must drive my truck with only one headlight and then i will have to pay more than $1000 to have this repaired. *tr

My truck's turn signal has malfunctioned and when your signaling to go left the rear left turn signal would not activate including the left rear flashers. several months ago the dealer reflashed my tipm and it did resolved the issue temporarily. what had happened was that the same incident occurred but instead when activating the left turn signals it would start working for a couple seconds before jumping activating the opposite turn signal (rightside) almost causing a near collision with other vehicles out on the roadways. i am very frustrated and i don't have $1,000.00 to have the dealer replace my tipm which i've found via online on several dodge forums stating that it will definitely rectify and fix the issue. *tr

We went for a drive to medora nd. where we spent the night and after we left to return home on hwy 94 when i was pulled over by a state highway patrol. the officer said i hadn't turned my signal on. i told her that i had and while she getting my information i was checking out my signals they would work and then they wouldn't then i turned on the left signal and the right would come on when it turned the right the right worked fine. i turned the four way flasher the left signal would come on. weird. when the officer came back to the truck i told her there is something wrong with my signals. she said that i should take in and have it checked out. so i am now waiting to get it into the dodge dealership. they are really messed up nothing works as it should. i have noticed after doing a search that many dodge pickups have the same issue. i hope this will help encourage a recall for this vehicle. *tr

The passenger side headlight does not turn on even after replacement when the headlight switch is in the on position. dealer has determined that the fault is the tipm (totally integrated power module). per dealer mfg no longer produces the tipm unit. per dealer aftermarket no longer manufactures part either. dealer suggests wrecking yard, however part is a computer based product that still must be reprogrammed by dealer after replacement. this is a safety issue with lighting, and the passenger side headlight will not function without this unit being replaced. *tr

Turned on turn signal for a left hand turn and right signal started flashing then it flashed left and right then finally left. it has been doing this same thing for either direction you signal every so often . the hazard lights flash left and right alternately when activated once and awhile. *tr

Wire harness in rear driver side door was found completely severed inside boot from frame to door. effects window, door locks, dome light operation, and speaker. presence of voltage can cause fire if aching occurs. *tr

Winding noise at low speed also have problem with head light it don't turn on (driver side ) directional door for a/c heather broken. *tr

Driver side headlight stopped working. high beam works but low beam does not. replaced bulb 3 times and still won't work.. *tr

Right low beam fails to light. bulb has been replaced. socket is good. failure is in tipm. appears to be a common problem in 06 to 08 dodge trucks. dealer charge $750 to $900 to replace and reprogram tipm unit. this is an extravagant charge for an item that should last the life of the vehicle. *js

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. while the contact was driving approximately 55 mph approaching a turn, the right turn signal was engaged; however the left turn signal responded. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the malfunction continued to occur. the manufacturer was notified of the malfunction. the approximate failure mileage was 45,000.

The turn signal on the vehicle began activating the wrong signal. at times the signal will not work at all. at other times it signals the opposite direction i am attempting to turn. the signal switch also controls my high beams and windshield wipers. both of these are also affected at times by the problem. i am very concerned anyone of these issues could cause a serious accident. *tr

While sitting at a red light turned on the left blinker and after a few seconds the blinker switched to blinking for the right both inside in the dash and outside at the front and rear and the indicator switch was still in the left turn position very dangerous has happened several time since date shown. *tr

The total integrated power module or fuse box on 2006 dodge rams has a known problem of failing. to replace faulty headlight circuit it will cost 1000 dollar because of this tipm. it has a poor design and dodge should address this issue. *tr

The turn signal will intermittently malfunction, causing the right indicator to blink though the lever is in the down position which when operational should signal the left indicator. this is a serious safety concern for myself as i have had multiple instances where i'm positioned in the left turn lane attempting to execute a left turn and signaling to oncoming traffic my intentions only to have the right blinker activate and cause traffic to stop abruptly in the lane i just exited. i am not only exposing myself to a rear end collision but i am also exposing the unsuspecting driver being incorrectly signaled to the same potential fate. the inability to caution oncoming traffic of my intentions also creates a potentially hazardous situation in that my turn could startle them causing them to turn sharply or stop abruptly. both could have detrimental impact provided the conditions are less than perfect in a state that commonly has severe winter weather. *tr

Turn signals fail to work completely, or right turn signal will activate while using left signal or vise-versa. headlights will fail while this "multi-function switch" shorts out. no wipers, no turn signals, no lights. *tr

The problem first occurred at highway speeds where the signal fails to operate, operates the opposite signal of what the driver selected or alternates rapidly both turn signals. additionally when this happens the high speed on the wipers and the hazards fail as well. the problem now occurs sitting still or any speed, it appears to be a bad multifunction switch. this is definitely a dangerous and from what i've read, far to common a problem. *tr

My 2006 dodge ram truck turns on the wrong turn signal, for instance if i am making a right turn and i push the stalk up, the left turn signal turns on. this is an intermittent problem and sometimes my turn signals work and sometimes they do not. i also have the related problem that i have no control over my windshield wipers. when i turn them on, they will stay on for minutes at a time on a high speed and not turn off. other times they will only go one or two times and shut off completely while it is pouring rain. *tr

Driver's side turn signal intermittently does not work. started when brake pedal was pushed. works, then stops working when brakes are pushed and continues not to work after that. this is a safety issue and there are 100s if not 1,000s of people that have reported turn signal problems on the 2006 dodge ram. this is a safety issue!! please make them fix this, because they obviously have no respect for their namebrand and don't care about their customers. check out this link http://vlane.com/discuss-topic/1336/2006-dodge-ram-turn-signal-problem. *tr
