Tl*the contact owns a 2002 dodge ram 1500. the vehicle has falken tires, size 305/40r/22 (na). while driving approximately 40 mph, the contact heard a loud noise. suddenly, the rear passenger side tire blew out without warning. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and the tire was replaced. recently, the tread on the sidewall of all four tires was cracked. the tires have not been replaced. the dot number was unknown. the failure mileage was 85,000 and current mileage was 85,243.

Cooper discoverer at tire, completely shredded, while going under 65 mph,..."lt, 265/70,r17, design #9804,dot.up.ah.0414803/30480-2, r-15065, load range 112/1090-was on a well-maintained 2002 dodge ram pickup, tire bought new. owner kept required air pressure constantly- checked air every few days,36,000 miles on tire-occupants seriously injured when vehicle rolled 3x. *tr

While driving vehicle jerked forward when consumer tried to down shift the transmission gears. dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem. *ak in addition, consumer is having trouble with tires and its sidewall and requesting manufacturer to design tires for off road conditions. front brake rotors are warped and the pads have 80 percent left at 34,000 miles. *la

My 2002 dodge pick up has a cupped left front tire causing a severe vibration. the tire is a goodyear wrangler lt275/70r17. after taking it to the dealership they found nothing wrong with the suspension and alignment. they contacted goodyear and were told that the tire on the truck is too aggressive and that the recommended rotation interval should be 5000 miles. the service manual recommends rotation at 7500 miles normal driving. i rotated at 6000 to coincide with my oil changes. the dealership said that goodyear offered to go 1/2 with me. the cost to me would have been $210.00 mounted and the dealership could have the tires in that afternoon. i had gone to a goodyear establishment 2 weeks prior to this visit to complain. they told me the same story that the tire is too aggressive and needs to be rotated at between 4000 and 5000 miles. they offered me 2 new tires at the same deal. the difference being was the same tires were $180.00. they would have to order them as the local warehouse had none in stock. that leads me to several questions: 1. why did this new vehicle have tires on it that are "too aggressive"? 2. why do i have to pay for tires that i have been careful to maintain and rotate at the specified interval in the service manual? 3. why is there no notification to the owners stating that the rotation interval needs to adjusted?*jb

Consumer complained that this brand new vehicle was sold with used tires. consumer went to the vehicle parked in the driveway and discovered that front right tire was flat. the vehicle was taken to a tire shop for repair. the tire shop technician informed consumer that the tire had been plugged before. the dealer denied that the tire was plugged in his possession.*ak

While driving at 65 mph, the left rear tire exploded without warning. dealer notified. *ak the vehicle had a left to right movement in the rear and if the speed would have been any higher, the consumer could have loss control. the tires were checked for proper inflation before going out of town. the tire caused damage to the vehicle's pick up bed. the consumer disagreed with what goodyear found and requested that the tire be returned. *scc *jb

The vehicle is a 2002 dodge ram sport 4x4 with 28,000 miles with goodyear wrangler hp 275/60/20 tires. i have had 12 tires which had to be replaced when they were ruined after going flat from puntures as well as numerous flat repairs. complaints to both daimler chrysler and goodyear yielded nothing but comments of surprise on both their parts with a reminder that there is no warranty on the tires. the dodge brochure says off road rated tires, goodyear says excellent off road traction. the tires have no puncture resistance, the present tires have hundreds of cuts, some through to the belts. last new tire blew with just 100 miles on it. first flat was at 250 miles on vehicle. when the tires are punctured the inner liner splits making repairs improbable. goodyear is the only manufacturer of that size tire so there are no alternatives. perhaps the lemon law may help, goodyear and daimler chrysler will not. good news is that i can probably get a job on a nascar pit crew with my new found tire changing speed which may help supplement my income to buy more tires for my truck.*ak

The consumer noticed all four goodyear, invicta tires at 12000 miles were wore out prematurely. *ak *scc *jb

The tires on my 2002 dodge ram 1500 sport model apparently cannot be balanced by the dodge dealers i have visited in the orlando area. the tires are goodyear p275/60r20. the truck vibrates and the steering wheel shakes at interstate speeds (65-75 mph). not only is this terribly annoying, but i believe it may be a dangerous defect. the truck only has 14k miles.*ak

Consumer states that the two tires on the drivers side experienced tread seperation while the consumer was driving at 70mph, there was no damage to the vehicle. contacted dealer. original equipment, 4k miles, p255/55r20, mounted on a 2002 dodge ram. nlm consumer stated that the two tires were on drivers side and dot # m62a hmwr 2002. *yh

At speeds above 30 mph, vehicle demonstrates lack of control when encountering rough/uneven road surface. vehicle experiences excessive jump/bounce in front and rear suspension. tire pressure decreased from tire manufacturer recommended 44 psi to dodge recommended 35 psi. this action helped to restore low speed control. vehicle still has control loss at highway speeds of 65 mph and greater. dealer contacted and stated had not heard of the problem, but would look into problem. note: vehicle is a swb standard cab version of the ram 1500. *ph *jb **dimsii ivoq entry posted after 12/12/02 cut over to artemis**768036
