I was riding down a busy highway and doing 55mph my car started to stall and just cut off, i couldn't get over to the slow lane alot of traffic. it cutoff and i had to get out the car and wave other cars off so they wouldnt hit me. as i got to a safe area from help of another driver the check engine light was on. i cut the car off and called my husband and he said after 10 to try and start it back up and it did it crunk back up and i drove slowly home with hazard lights on and when i got home and cut the car off i let it sit for 10 minutes again and when i turned it back on the check engine light was off. this was scary for me and when i researched this problem it shows it's a recall for a crankshaft position sensor but my car is not in the recall and i cant understand why not this could have cause me and my family to have died because of this dodge need to include all dodge journeys as i see alot of people are ...
Horn blew intermittently at first when shutting doors, and occasionally for no reason. windows would go down part way when doors were shut. ignition would sometimes just click click when key is turned, wipers would move when not engaged to be on. battery would go complexly dead for no reason and then be ok for a month or two and then do it again. had to disconnect the horn a few years ago as it would not stop going off. has been in to kayer chrysler, dodge service several times and they could not find issue. they just called and said they founsd. short in the main electrical component and it will cost $1100plus for part and up to $200 to install. we have had these issues since we bought it. oh yeh heat and air on passenger side quit working a few winters ago, and the doors fill with water in every rain storm. park on a hill after a rain and doors will drain for hours. we have friends that have bought journeys and say they have no problems really. can't believe there s not a recall for such a mess. oh yes and occasionally it will ...
Problem started with 2014 didge journey sxt going into limp mode. code that appeared were throttle body sensor, changed that. it went into limp mode immediately after and code was throttle body, changed that. it went into limp mode immediately again. same codes. sent to shop they said it was the transmission, $220 for an overhaul of that. 2 to 3 weeks after, limp mode again. same codes. brought it to dodge dealership and the diagnosis it saying i need a new pcm and wire harness. those items were replaced. 2 to 3 weeks after that work. car goes into limp mode again while on the hwy. car is currently at dodge dealership again, now they're saying it's the starter causing the problem. this issue has been since july 2019 and is still ongoing, last limp mode was sunday december 15, 2019. i have tons of documentation of the work that has been done please advise if you should need any
Car stalled on highway as we were driving and cut out. very dangerous..wouldn't restart..then started up 20 mins later and drove fine.engine light came on..dealer says it a crankshaft sensor..super dangerous.
Vehicle randomly started jerking and losing power as i drove home on the highway. got it checked and said it was cam shaft position sensor bank 1. got both sensors changed and did a relearn. after 24 hours it did it again. dont know if it is wiring or computer problem...still giving same code when checked.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 dodge journey. while driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle started to shake and the speed decreased. the contact pulled over to the side of the road. when the vehicle was turned off and restarted, the contact was able to continue driving to her destination. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who determined that the failure was transmission related and a new one was needed. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 88,000.
The gear box & differential went out when we were trying to park. applied the gas pedal, felt like the vehicle wouldn't move, applied the gas more & heard a loud 'boom.' we're able to get the vehicle parked, then smoke started coming from the engine. looked to find out there was gear oil leaking from the vehicle. looked online @ dodge journeys & found out there have been a multitude of complaints about the same issue with other owners. had to get the vehicle towed home due to being unable to drive it. this happened october 19th, 2019 & we've been unable to drive the vehicle since incident. our dodge journey is a 2015 sxt all wheel drive with about 120,000 miles on it. there needs to be a manufacturer recall on these vehicles!! we've been told it's going to cost anywhere from $5,000 to upwards of $7,000 to get this issue fixed and we still have a vehicle loan of $11,000 we owe on it.
I just brought a 2014 dodge journey on july of 2018 and i had two problems with the transmission , first problem it was leaking then i got it fix like 5 months ago now the transmission has a bigger problem that it have to rebuild or replace waiting from the decision from the mechanic with the results of what to do , the shop where i took the vehicle say that i wasn't the first person that have the same problem with the same vehicle and i was the forth person with the transmission problem and that he is surprise that they are no recall on the vehicle so i am very upset with this issue and i just want to make a complaint about it
My cars battery light keeps coming on and then it starts going over the 4000 rpm point and not going more than 20mph and then dies...i've replaced alternator and battery both 4 times in 4 months and it keeps happening.
Transmission unexpectedly downshifts at any speeds causing the engine to red line and the speed governor cuts off the fuel causing the vehicle to stall. the only way to resolve the problem is to restart the engine. have almost been rear ended on more than one occasion.
