Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2016 Dodge Journey

I was riding down a busy highway and doing 55mph my car started to stall and just cut off, i couldn't get over to the slow lane alot of traffic. it cutoff and i had to get out the car and wave other cars off so they wouldnt hit me. as i got to a safe area from help of another driver the check engine light was on. i cut the car off and called my husband and he said after 10 to try and start it back up and it did it crunk back up and i drove slowly home with hazard lights on and when i got home and cut the car off i let it sit for 10 minutes again and when i turned it back on the check engine light was off. this was scary for me and when i researched this problem it shows it's a recall for a crankshaft position sensor but my car is not in the recall and i cant understand why not this could have cause me and my family to have died because of this dodge need to include all dodge journeys as i see alot of people are having this issue my mileage is 68000.

My wife was driving our 2016 dodge journey our pf the driveway. she drove 2 blocks when the car suddenly lost acceleration and became jerky when shifting. engine light went on without warning so she immediately turned the car off. she restarted and managed to get it in reverse to try to pull over to the curb but the car jerked forward while in reverse. we towed it to our dodge dealership and had it diagnosed. was told that our hydraulic pump failed causing irreparable damage to our transmission. we were told we needed to replace our entire transmission. we have only had the car for 2 years and there is only 65000 miles on it. discovered that there was a recall for faulty hydraulic pumps causing transmission failure (s44) but was told that it doesn't apply to our vehicle. sounds very suspect. transmissions are not supposed to fail after just 3 years. seems to be a recurrent issue with this make, model and year. we still owe a lot of money on the car so we cannot scrap or trade it. not getting much help from customer service despite all of the similarities with the prior recall. maybe forced to pay thousands for this repair. warranty just expired at 60000 miles which would have covered the power train. this issue has been a perfect storm. i wish my family could get some help.

My wife was driving the vehicle out of the driveway to take the children to school. the car was not accelerating properly, the transmission felt like it was slipping, and the engine felt like it was going to die. engine light illuminated. my wife shut the car off. she turned it back on and attempted to reverse to the curb, but the car began moving forward while in reverse. there was no prior warning, and the vehicle was operating just fine the previous day. we towed the car to a local mechanic on 09/17/2019 who stated that the power train transmission has completely failed, and we need to completely replace the entire transmission. the vehicle only has 64k miles. we have owned the car for just 2 years with no prior private owners. we have an appointment on 09/19/2019 with paulding chyrsler jeep dodge located in dallas, ga for a second opinion. i have learned that there is a recall for power train transmissions on 2016 dodge journey. given the average life expectancy of an automatic transmission and our vehicle's specifications, it seems evident that this issue corresponds with the manufacturer's recall.

Vehicle stalls randomly. mostly at low speeds or slowing down.

Vehicle while drive fine for many miles usually after driving on the highway but when i need to make a turn it becomes difficult for the vehicle to accelerate and will suddenly jerk forward or pop. my car was recently serviced due to the drive shaft cracking in an abnormal way according to mechanics which costed $4200 i expected the issue to be solved after the repair but it seems to have gotten worse there was a humming sound now while turning i'm afraid the problem may be manufacturer related since it's happening again after the repair

Backing out of driveway in reverse and the transfer case twisted out of the vehicle, snapping hardware and breaking off aluminum casing also found lose hardware. vehicle only has 65,000 miles on it. this occurred on level grade there was no inclines

I have a 2016 dodge journey about a month ago ran over a large rain puddle while turning in to get some gas. filled up and as i'm driving off abs, brake, and the swerving car signal kept coming on. my fuel gauge reader went all the way down to empty and the speedometer would go up and down random times while driving. couple days later we had took it in to get checked out was told my fuel sensor went out and needed to get a new fuel pump because the sensor was inside of it. had it fixed after waiting two days from our car guy drove it off the repair shop and not even hours later the same issue. was told i had warranty on fuel pump purchased from dealership and they would replace it again. i took it to dealership and was told needed a new fuel pump and they were going to charge me 135 per error code and then would tell me what additionally needed to be fixed and that i would have to leave the car for up to a week. the car was just purchased in aug 2018 and it has under 54k miles on it. while driving the car at any given time all the lights continue to come on. the car stopped on me in the middle of the highway. it gave out on me in the center highway and i had to wait for emergency serveces to assist me it took 2 hours and this was at 7 am in the morning on 610/10 freeway in houston, tx the car has given out on me twice now and ive replaced the battery twice. whatever is the issue continues to kill the battery power and i can't find any mechanic including the dealership to fix what the problem is, but they want to charge me for randomn work that does nothing to fix the issue.

The truck has always shifted hard since i purchased it january 2016 but i figured it would just work its way out since it was brand new. friday july 21st 2017 i was driving and started hearing a very loud grinding type of noise coming from the engine and i was just trying to make it home asap. all of a sudden while i was driving (25 mph) i was slowing down and when i took my foot off the brake and went to accelerate again there was nothing there like no power at all just rpms going higher. i pulled over put the truck in park and back into drive and it wouldn't move anywhere at all. i turned the truck off and quickly put it in drive so i had some momentum and after 1st gear it did the same exact thing. i was 10 miles away from my house and had to repeat this process for over an hour just to make it to my driveway. the next morning i repeated the process in order to get it to the closest dodge dealership which i did safely. now my truck has 53,500 miles on it and the dealership stated the transmission is blown. great real great a brand new car and a blown transmission? it's ridiculous especially when dodge will not do loaner vehicles leaving me now paying hundreds of dollars out of pocket for a rental and still paying ny payments on top of this all. something needs to be done to help people like me who are inconvenienced in these situations. i own my own business and drive 150+ miles a day i need a car and no one cares. i'm so furious and upset its not funny

While driving the car, the transmission jerks and it seems that the computer telling the transmission when to shift gears is slow and not properly functioning. it's happening frequently, especially when slowing down, coming to a complete stop or starting to drive from a complete stop. also putting into park and then taking out of part, there's a bit of resistance, loud bang and hard shift.

I was turning into a parking spot outside of my work and the car revved and jerked forward; i had to swerve to miss and pillar and slam on my brakes because it jumped over a curb and almost hit a building! the parking spot was a little upward so i did have to have my foot on the gas

My vehicle randomly shuts off. loses all engine power, power steering, etc. has been at the dealer 3 different times and no one can find the problem. once we were stopped at a light, 2 times we were pulling out of parking spots, and this last time my vehicle was in motion on the street and the engine shut off.

This vehicle was sold to me by central florida chrysler jeep dodge, 8675 commodity circle, orlando, fl 32819 with an open recall. i purchased and drove this vehicle home on 8/20/2016. this car was a new vehicle and should not have been sold with an existing recall. when i called to explain the car had a recall, they were very rude and told me the recall was new and the part to correct it did not exist at that time.

The transmission doesn't downshift correctly.
