Shortly after beginning to drive the car, the traction control light comes on, the steering tightens up and the brakes freeze up. this happens on completely dry roads. this happened 2 times within 1 mile of each time. the first time i almost went through an intersection because i couldn't get stopped, and the second time i almost rear ended a car. i had both of my children who are 7 and 10 in the vehicle. this is not the first time this issue has happened. it happened 6 months ago, and my mechanic said the code was a faulty tpm which was replaced. it then happened a month ago, and the most recent time which was last week. i've been researching this issue and it seems that the dodge journey has had this issue, among others. it seems as if this vehicle needs a complete recall. somebody is going to end up seriously injured or dead. i still owe $10k on my vehicle and cannot afford to buy another and pay this loan. i need to get rid of this vehicle and dodge needs to take responsibility.
My vehicle has shut off without warning three times in the last month. all three times were at low speeds while pulling into a driveway. i then put it in park, pressed my ignition button to off, then pushed the ignition button with my foot on the brake and it started all three times on the first attempt. when it shut off, i lost power steering all three times, so thankfully i was at low speed. i do currently have code p0016 when i scan it with my reader. i had a local mechanic change 1 of my camshaft position sensors because that is what autozone recommended. that didn't solve anything. then i made an appointment at dodge of bloomington, mn to have a lugnut repaired and my check engine light further diagnosed. they replaced the lugnut but told me they didn't have time left in the day to look at light, and said no rental vehicles were available, which is odd considering the 500 vehicles in their lot. so i made an appointment at coon rapids chrysler and they dug around for three hours, told me they couldn't find anything ...

As i was driving through a grocery parking lot, i remember taking my foot off of the accelerator to slow down and to make a right turn up an isle to go to a parking spot. once my foot came off of the accelerator, my car died, no brakes, and no steering. the electrical continued to work as my music was still playing and the flashers worked as well. i put the car in park, and pushed the start button, nothing happened. i tried a couple more times and then my car started back up. i drove to a parking spot, shut the car off and turned it back on. i drove back home with no issues and put her in the garage. i'm very nervous, to say the least as i have to drive to work tomorrow. i hope this does not occurs as i'm driving 55 mph.
