Lights go out when the rain gets up under the car from splashing on the road. you have to pull over to the side of the road, turn it off and turn it back on several times and it stays on for a short time. procedure is repeated again. only in rainy weather and oregon gets a lot of sporadic rain. also, the ignition tends to turn the airbag lights on and off whenever i turn a corner left or right of hit a bump.
It started with my vehicle not starting intermittently. as the problem got worse at first we thought it may be the fuel pump. after extensive searching it was revealed to be a faulty tipm module that causes issues with the fuel system. i contacted dodge and they validated that they are aware of the problem. there has been recalls listed for most vehicles with this same module, however not for the dodge grand caravan, i do not understand why. the issue has now escalated. while driving in the pitch dark to work the vehicle started acting funny, then all power shut off, steering locked, fob locked in ignition, no lights, no blinkers, right in the middle of the road while driving. i had just dropped off my son so glad he wasn't with me. it seems the problem all goes back to the tipm which has been draining my battery and causing other electrical issues. this is a safety hazard. i contacted dodge and they refuse to do anything to help because my vehicle is "outside the warranty". i explained how this problem doesn't even start until approx. 70,000 miles(i'm currently at 60,000). beyond that the warrant y was expired ...
I recently purchased a 2010 dodge grand caravan. the car shuts off on me while driving . it will start back up after you put it in park and turn it back on but it just shuts off . it shut off on me twice on the highway with my kids in the car and four times while driving in the city.it makes this weird noise when turning left and the lights are flickering on and off. if that's not enough the doors seem to just open and close on there own the trunk shut on me while i was getting groceries out. i brought the car into the shop and they said they can't duplicate the shutting off and claimed they fixed the door opening in it's own problem .well the doors continue to open and now they are hard to open with the key and you have to manually open them . this is a safety concern and the dealer is claiming there is nothing wrong please help me.
2011 dodge grand caravan had a faulty tipm and is a known problem costing well over $1500.00 at dodge to get a new tipm. this effects the stability control module, the transmission electronic shifting, the brake lights and the air conditioning just to name a few issues. we have reached out to dodge and they will not cover it.
Headlight won't come on i replaced the light bulbs replaced the light switch
I just acquired this vehicle. i understand gas 6 recalls based in the nhtsa. doors read model 2004. i called chrysler dodge dealer in hemet, california and the service receptionist stated there is nothing to do that are no recalls for this van. please help. the light engine is on. the power train kicks sometimes (drags) suddenly. and i see the 6 recalls applicable to this model
Headlights failed after driving approximately 30 minutes. when turned off and back on, they would blink for two or three times the remain off. after about 30 minutes i returned to the car and they turned on normally and worked for about 9 miles before failing again. after about 5 minutes of restarting and retrying the lights they worked again for another 8 miles then failed again. repeated process and was able to drive about 20 miles home with no more failures. same failure occurred again yesterday (about 4 days after first incident). this time there were multiple failures in 12 miles. all failures occurred while the vehicle was in motion.
I had someone run a redlight & hit my right side quarter panel behind the tire just before the door. my right headlight lense was cracked in the process. the body shop told me it's defective prior to your accident because it's not even sealed. i was told to check if there's a recall. wether it is or not it's still the fault of chrysler's & i have moisture inside it now. is this something you will fix for me? can't remember actuall mileage but fifty nine thousand something. also can't remember exactly what date. november 2018
While at a stop light, another driver told us the van's tail light was smoking. we pulled around a corner and into a parking lot and found that the passenger tail light assembly was on fire with flames lapping up the side of the van. the van was turned off and the fire was extinguished. we removed the tail light assembly and found that the inside of the assembly and the wiring harness were destroyed. there is also body damage. we have had problems with the brake light bulb in the passenger side burning out frequently, and had seen evidence of overheating and some melting in the brake light connector socket in about 2010. although the lights burn out frequently, the melting had not gotten worse since then. the driver's side tail light has never exhibited a problem like this. at this time it is unknown if there is any damage or fault in the electrical system beyond the tail light assembly. a rough estimate of obvious damages is approximately $1,000 to $1,500 with repainting.
