While driving, several dash panel lights flashed, lost power steering, lost ability to increase speed with gas pedal. engine stayed on but only at idle. able to get out of traffic onto side road and stop. turned key to off and then tried to start car again. it worked on the second try. seemed to operate normally with only the clock reset to 12:00am. this same sequence happened twice, about a week apart. no rain either time both during daylight.
Was sitting at gas station with the van at an idle. the check engine light came on. after running diagnostics it was determined it had a cylinder 4 misfire. i had the spark plug and ignition coil replaced and still have the cylinder 4 misfire. has been determined that the cylinder head has gone bad and needs to be replaced. i was also told mopar has had problems like this in the past.
While driving through a intersection turning right the engine shutoff without warning. along with the engine shutoff, power steering was lost and everything on the dashboard including the speedometer, rpms, radio. with the loss of acceleration and power steering it made it very difficult to maneuver to safety. once stopped i was able to place the vehicle in park i turned the key to off and restarted the vehicle and it started back up normally. absolutely no engine lights or warning were showing before or after this incident. i suspect that the issue is the tipm but can't be exactly sure.
The first thing to go wrong with this vehicle was the television stopped working and they fixed it once and it went out again but i did not take it back because it would have cost me out of pocket .the next thing to go wrong was the driver side back door would not open they had to keep it for a day or two for that. the next thing to go wrong was the cylinder head they took a week to fix it but the car still had weak engine performance and engine misfire so i took it back for them to check it again and they could not find anything wrong with it. the windshield wiper squirter is also broken. the next thing to go wrong was the gear shifter, the car would not move and was stuck in drive with key stuck in the ignition we had just gotten in the car .i tried to turn the car off and back on but the engine would not crank. i had to have it towed in twice and rent a car on my own insurance doesn't provide rental unless you have a accident. when that happened my family of six was in the car. i had to pay for everything out of pocket. the problems started after 2 years and the car is only three years old and four more years to pay for it .i was advise by an agent at dodge jeep chrysler tallahassee fl that if i continued to pay my warranty would be extended.
This is a 2016 dodge grand caravan r/t with mileage reading 99570. the engine is the 3.6l flex dohc. the check engine light came on. had it checked it coded for a misfire in number 2 cylinder. paid for a full tune up. light came back on next day took the van back to be checked again. they did another full tune up in case of a possible faulty part.check engine light remained on. the certified mechanic there said that it's a common in these engines and we may could check to see if there is a recall. after looking around on the internet seen where there has been thousands of complaints to dodge and chrysler dealerships all across the country for the same thing and it's about a $3000 fix

i bought a 2016 dodge grand caravan with 77,438 miles. the vehicle ran great till the end of november 2018. at which time we started having major issues. 1st the vehicle will self accelerate with to excessive speeds over 80 mph with no assistance. you have to hold the break to keep it under control. 2nd you can take the key out of the ignition, close the door and the car continue to run. 3rd when starting the van the transmission goes into limp mode not allowing you to shift the car to reverse or drive. to release the you have to hit the safety override switch place the van in gear and then you are only able to drive to the speed of 30 mph. we have taken this van to the shop that drive time warranty company directed us to which was pep boys. they were not able to do the work the vehicle needed but still charges us $50. drive time said we would be reimburse for but never happened. then drive time directed us to take the car to meineke the diagnosed the vehicle we paid the deductible $100. drove the van home 1 week later it was back at meineke to be repaired again. meineke advised that the part that was under warranty cause sever damage to other components of the van. drive time authorized the work. we went to pick up the van as it was completed meineke advised us it would be $2700 for the repairs as drive time was not paying for it. we contacted drive time on this they advised us to pick the van up and not to pay meineke anything. so we went round and round with drive time and meineke finally getting our van back. now 10 days later it is doing the same thing. i have 4 children and a wife that is in this vehicle that is unsafe and is an accident waiting to happen.

Engine shuts off without warning when driving and/or stopped at light.
Bought the car used with 35,982 miles. a year after i purchased the van my check engine light came on. changed the oil and spark plugs. the light stayed on and continued to run rough. we contacted dodge multiple times to be told my car wasn't under warranty. we took my car to be put on the computer and found a few small issues. i bought a few parts from dodge and again talked to them about the warranty. was told it stopped at 30,000 miles. took my car back to the mechanic and was told i have low compression in cylinder two. i called dodge to find out how much they would charge me to fix it. to find out my car was under warranty and i had just went over the mileage of 60,000. so i was lied to and my car is still messed up. i have read over and over about the motors having issues and nothing is being done!!!!
