While driving at 35-40mph on a rural zone the steering wheel suddenly felt 'locked' and was extremely difficult to steer. at the same time the brakes were hard to press and the traction control dash light came on. my wife was driving and frightened her very much. the road has a slight curve in it and has oncoming traffic in the opposite lane. she had to forcibly steer the van as best she could against the sidewalk curb to help slow down the van. if she had made it to the freeway when this happened i don't think the results would be the same as far as her safety. i looked up the symptoms and found it to be a common problem and that even a recall might be in place for this issue. please forward me any info that will help me correct this problem.

When pulling out onto the main road from the neighborhood, steering failed (stiff as if no power steering and vehicle propulsion failed (foot on the gas produced no forward motion). vehicle was quiet. almost like a stall or as if the vehicle was in neutral, but there was no indication that the vehicle had stalled. driver turned the vehicle off and back on and was able to resume normal driving. this is the third or fourth incident.

Can shut off when driving i have to come to a full stop put in park and turn it back on. while this happens you lose all-powerful no brakes no starting no gas. very scary i was traveling around 45mph when it shut off this time i was completely in head on lane when i was able to steer it back. *tr

Van stalls while driving- no steering, etc

2010 dodge grand caravan. car shuts down while drive. causes to have no steering or brakes. no warning before it happens. on street moving. unknown of what is actually happening or why it is doing this. *tt *tr

When driving down the road at any speed vehicle will shut off randomly with losing power steering and brakes. have to pull over and restart it and is fine. had the r03 recall done before. safety issue is it's hard to control and brake without crashing.. it's happebing more and more. started out just maybe once or twice now it can happen 3-4x in one trip of 20 min drive

As i was pulling into a parking space, the power steering stopped working. i could not steer the vehicle and it was difficult to brake. i turned the car off and restarted it twice, with no effect. i was able to muscle it into the parking space. i shut the car off and ran an errand. when i returned and restarted the vehicle, the power steering had started working again. i checked the power steering fluid level, which is fine. the problem seemed electrical. i have not yet had a reoccurence of this problem. i am worried about the impact this would have if it occurred when traveling at higher speeds.

Sudden loss of engine, power steering and brakes while vehicle is in motion. happens at low and high speeds, driving straight and when turning. all electrical components remain operational. dealer unable to duplicate.

Driving at 10-20 mph, warning lights esp abr and tracing icon flash on and off before engine stalls, happens whether turning, or driving straight. electrical system fails including power steering, radio flashes off, clock goes to 12:00. often at speeds 35 -65 mph, same lights flash on and off 10 to 15 times in various distances of 3 miles - 25 miles before stalling, driving down a winding, mountain road in heavy traffic at night at speeds between 60-70mph, same lights flashed on and off, the speedometer needle instantly dropped down to zero then quickly flipped up to current speed each time lights flashed, then they stayed on while i pulled off the road, it stalled in park position. starts up again without hesitation. once i went 3 miles without incident, upon returning while at a stop light, same warning lights flashed, when the light turned green, engine stalled. i restarted the engine and i was able to proceed through the green light making a left turn, no other stall the rest of the way home. regardless if i'm turning left or right, going up hill or down hill ...
