Tl* the contact owns a 2008 dodge grand caravan. while driving approximately 55 mph, the engine stalled without warning. the contact maneuvered into the emergency lane and shut the vehicle off. the contact was able to restart the engine after multiple attempts. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 55,000.the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v373000 (air bags, electrical system) however, the parts to repair the recall were unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for recall repair. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 55,000.

My 18yr son was driving the van at highway speeds (65 mph) when he described a sudden inability to control the vehicle. the steering became hard to control and the brakes here hard to push. he thought the brakes had failed. due to the inability to control the van he drifted into the passing lane where a car to the rear of him struck his rear quarter panel, causing his van to spin out of control. the vehicle spun and came to rest in the meridian. the police report stated" no evidence of brakes locking up" as there was no skid marks in the road way until the vehicle was leaving the road sideways. the air bags did not deploy. the damage to the vehicle includes substantial front, side and rear panel damage the front and rear tires are out of alignment, exhaust pushed up into rear quarter panel and the force caused the battery to slide out of place. the engine warning lights were all on to include the air bag light. we called chrysler because we saw the recall on line. meanwhile 5 days after the accident we received the recall notice in the mail stating it was fine to drive the can until the recall was performed.they sent an investigation team to examine the van and determined the brakes were at fault. however the brakes were new including rotors 2 weeks prior and upon having my own inspection done the brakes were found in working order, no warped rotors or burnt pads that would suggest a brake lock up at 65mph,tires(snow tires as my son was heading to college in northern maine ) are in good condition with no evidence of flat areas (as one might expect with brakes locking up) we had engine diagnostics checked and found an yaw warning at the time of the accident with no other engine codes noted. all engine lights were lit up at the time of the accident much like what happens when you shut the ignition off while the vehicle is in motion only to reset upon normal restart. *tr

They did not open in 3 van wreaks - the faulty tipm fuse boxes were put in at the factory (reconditioned fuse boxes) dodge has admitted to this in the dodge durango's. there are many many more models in the chrysler/dodge group of cars and trucks with this same problem but they are making money hand over fist at their repair shops so why fix it there is a easy fix they are not telling you about, the capacitors in your car,van or truck are over loading to fix all you have to do is disconnect the battery both the negative and positive sides for 24 the fist time, then 3 hours, then again each time for 1 hour when you see a faulty light come on or lights on you dash panel flashing or your engine shuts off while driving.this should clear up after 3 times of doing this.this worked for me my van does not shut off anymore,no more dash lights flashing.you may have to do this more than 3 times ?.but it works has been over a year now. happen while driving and sitting still.

Takata recall air bags did not deploy in 3 accidents i was involved in. between 2013 and 2014 on city streets speed of other driver was 45 to 50 miles per hour.driver james crutchfield hit me broadsided on right side of my van knocking out the window and pushing in the door.van totaled out.- i have pictures of the van after the accident i am still trying to drive it, have not been able to repair the van

This vehicle has an outstanding recall issue l25 wireless ignition code. we purchased the vehicle in april 2014 at which time we have experience a handful of complete shut down of the vehicle while traveling up to 35 mph. daily the ignition must be turned 4-5 times before starting or will start and immediately shut down. we have removed all extra keys and key chains as stated by chrysler. calling chrysler has been unsuccessful as they have a recording claiming the recall parts are not available at this time and wait times for over 15 mins will not still allow you to talk to someone in person. therefore the local dealership is unable to repair. is gm offering a free loaner until this vehicle is declared safe? i have a payment and do no longer wish to drive this vehicle. i have also tried to sell it for over a month with no luck. we are honest people and would inform buyer of outstanding recall unlike the dealer in which we purchased from. we have contacted our auto lender do start paper work on a voluntary repossession, however this will impact our credit greatly and we will also be responsible for the defaulted difference between the auction price and our loan.
