While driving the car suddenly shuts off and loses all power. after two or three minutes it will restart.
My 2007 dodge grand caravan se can be easily shifted into gear while in auxiliary power, and it sometimes locks out my brakes, as there is a locked steering wheel you can't steer it and can't turn it on without shifting back to park which can be difficult if the brakes lock. a child could easily set it in gear if you are running the air and you leave the car briefly, i do not have kids but i do run some taxi work in the neighborhood. it could be done anywhere as long as it's in auxiliary power to radio and electrics but not fully on
While driving, several dash panel lights flashed, lost power steering, lost ability to increase speed with gas pedal. engine stayed on but only at idle. able to get out of traffic onto side road and stop. turned key to off and then tried to start car again. it worked on the second try. seemed to operate normally with only the clock reset to 12:00am. this same sequence happened twice, about a week apart. no rain either time both during daylight.
While driving through a intersection turning right the engine shutoff without warning. along with the engine shutoff, power steering was lost and everything on the dashboard including the speedometer, rpms, radio. with the loss of acceleration and power steering it made it very difficult to maneuver to safety. once stopped i was able to place the vehicle in park i turned the key to off and restarted the vehicle and it started back up normally. absolutely no engine lights or warning were showing before or after this incident. i suspect that the issue is the tipm but can't be exactly sure.

I was driving down a main road all the lights came on in my dash car started beeping, radio came on, windshield whippers came on at high speed, ac came on, lost the ability to steer vehicle or brake with mileage screen switching to different options within that screen. car been at dealer since the day after still do not have vehicle back or a diagnosis of what or why vehicle went into this state.
My vehicle was at jeff wyler chrysler, dodge and jeep in batavia, ohio for a week plus a few days. in all of that time that this vehicle was having its transmission issues diagnosed and inspected, the service department failed to address the open recall of nhtsa recall #17v-376, fca recall #t33 for the steering wheel wiring. the dealership knows about open recalls and, yet failed to perform the repairs on this vehicle. instead, it allowed my vehicle to be towed from its lot back to my home address, despite knowing that it failed to address the recall. dodge customer care representatives informed me of this recall while i was on the phone with them and still the dealership did not even make mention of this. they failed to repair the potentially dangerous or fatal issues with the vehicle and dodge failed to ensure that the vehicle recall was completed during all of my conversations with dodge and dodge executive office personnel.
While driving at 35-40mph on a rural zone the steering wheel suddenly felt 'locked' and was extremely difficult to steer. at the same time the brakes were hard to press and the traction control dash light came on. my wife was driving and frightened her very much. the road has a slight curve in it and has oncoming traffic in the opposite lane. she had to forcibly steer the van as best she could against the sidewalk curb to help slow down the van. if she had made it to the freeway when this happened i don't think the results would be the same as far as her safety. i looked up the symptoms and found it to be a common problem and that even a recall might be in place for this issue. please forward me any info that will help me correct this problem.
