In december 2011 i purchased a new 2012 dodge durango citadel from northtown dodge chrysler jeep ram (ndcjr), in tonawanda, ny. i am having an issues with periodic stalling without warning while driving. in april 2016 while slowing down to exit right via a thruway ramp the durango stalled and steering wheel locked without any warning. i brought the vehicle into ndcjr on 4/30/2016 and was told that they were 'unable to make any repairs because they could not duplicate the issue'. in july 2016, my husband experienced the stalling while making a left turn. my most terrifying experience came in august of 2016 when i was on a main road in busy evening traffic, slowing down to merge into the left turning lane, and the car completely stalled and steering wheel locking again almost causing me to rear end the vehicle in front of me. i contacted ncdjr to inform them that this was happening again and that i needed my vehicle serviced. northtown had my vehicle from 8/6/2016-8/30/2016 and i was again told, the vehicle could not be repaired because 'they could not duplicate the problem'. on ...
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge durango. while driving approximately 10 mph, there was a loud noise. the contact pulled into the driveway, looked under the vehicle, and noticed a large puddle. the vehicle was driven to a mechanic who diagnosed that the water pump gasket and bearing housing failed. the water pump, coolant, and thermostat were replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was contacted about the issue. the vin was unknown. the failure mileage was 89,600. updated 12/20/16*lj
I was taking my son to tutorials. i turned right and the steering wheel locked up. to keep from having an accident, i had to slowly veer to the left upon the median. i turned on the emergency lights. the radio was still playing, but the car had simply stopped moving. i pressed the engine button to turn the vehicle off. then i pressed it again to restart it. it started with no problems and i continued to take my son to tutorials. *tr
The check engine light constantly remains on after all codes have been addressed. this vehicle is routinely given maintenance checks. other the codes given (p40), what could the issue by? i have called my local dodge dealership for assistance with the recent recall hoping that would help resolve the issue, but the clerk was very rude stating they were busy. i love my vehicle but for safety concerns, i feel i may need to get rid of it if the problem continues. this has been a permanent issue for at least the last three years...each year its a struggle to even past emissions due to the check engine light. thank you. *tr
1] engine stalls out during stops, turning, and reversing. 2] ignition will not turn to on position occasionally. *tr
When starting the car, it acts as if it is going to start and continues to turn over then shuts off. we were able to get it home after several attempts to start it. the following day it started up as normal. i drove it to run errands around town. the following day i loaded up my two sons, ages 3 and 10 weeks in the car and the car wouldn't start again. i let it sit and the following day it shuddered and shut off twice before just acting like it was going to turn over while the red lightening bolt flashes on the dash. now it wont start at all. the dealership stated i have to pay out of pocket to fix it because the recall isn't out yet. they also refused to pay for a rental. they know this is an issue and still refuse to do anything about it. what if i had my two kids in the car and was stranded somewhere? they just don't care. i don't have the money to pay for everything up front and wait to be reimbursed once the recall comes out. now i'm stranded without a vehicle for god ...
I have a 2004 dodge durango slt 5.7l hemi. never had any big issues with it until in 2014 i was driving home from work on the highway when i heard a loud bang and loud knocking noises followed shortly by an abrupt shut off. i tried immediately to get to the side of the road but when i lost power steering from the engine ceizing and couldn't correct myself enough so i went down the hill off the side of the highway while trying to break with no brake booster anymore as well. i ended up running into a couple small tree's and finally stopping . air bags didn't deploy and i only jammed my finger and hurt my back some but i only missed a larger group of tree by inches. my front bumper was ripped off, my drivers side headlight was broke as well as my grille and my windshield cracked. i took it to my mechanic and found out that the engine "hydrolocked" and a piston rod punched through my engine and broke a lot of other things internally. needless to say the engine is gone. after doing some research i have found that there are ...
I had problems starting my car. the engine would try to turn over, but would not start. i put the ignition on run, pumped the gas a few times and it would eventually start most of the time. took it to my mechanic and we replaced the fuel pump. that didn't fix the problem. after researching the issue we replaced the tipm. that has so far fixed the starting issue, but now my fog lights blink when i try to use my right turn signal. this is putting me and my family at danger while driving the vehicle and not being able to use my right blinker. the dealer here has said that we need to have the tipm "flashed" in order to fix the problem. so the cost of that is an additional $125. my fear is that this will cause even more dangerous issues as i have researched and read many experiences by other 2011 durango owners. i have read about the upcoming recall p54 to fix the fuel relay. but now that problem is fixed and there is another problem created. *tr
