Recently reported ELECTRICAL SYSTEM problems on 2014 Dodge Durango

Driver side headrest inadvertently deployed while operating vehicle. headrest fastener damage in the process making the fastener unrepairable. dealer states there is no current open recall on this issue even though there even though there are numerous complaints about the same issue online.

My lift gate lamp assembly is retaining water which is causing electrical shorts in my tail lights. this is safety hazard in the state of hawaii which caused me to fail my safety inspection and i cannot register my car.

Rear led litigate light collects water inside unit and burns out the led. this the third time it had happened. light was replaced twice already.

Rear taillight led bar went out after water entered the light bar through small openings and defective weather stripping. the lights on the durango are not sealed good enough to prevent water from entering. the light and the rear camera stopped working for the same reason. this is a defect that originated during production and can cause an accident. the consumer should not be responsible for replacing these parts every couple months because of water damage

The vehicle will not start once driven and turned off. when start is pressed after restarting the vehicle, the vehicle just turns over and don't start. i have taken the vehicle to auto nation dodge several times and the service dept claims they replaced the tpim but the vehicle stills wont start at times and does it more often when restarted

The racetrak lift gate housing has accumulated water and caused brake lights to malfunction.

On 8/24/19 the alternator failed while driving (in motion!!) and the car stopped in the middle of the road shortly after the battery light came on. the battery had just been replaced new that same day. we could not move the car or restart the vehicle to move it and just purchased used on the 21 august 2019, issue that you can not get the car into neutral to move the car. or that there is no a secondary power source so that if the power fails you can still operate the gears and move the car out of the way. the care makes a clanking noise like if the gears were not moving and the car jolted forward and just stopped. really? then couldn't move it thank god it didn't happen on the freeway. saw that there is a recall on this durango for the alternator suddenly failing that exactly what happen but there is no record of that being fixed or being an issue on this model why?

Rear racetrack lighting leaks and led's are burned out

July 14, 2019 - while the dodge durango is in motion, the dash display suddenly went blank, various sensor lights turned on, transmission gear would not shift, and the wiper blades intermittently turned on. similarly problem was experienced in may 2019, when the repair shop identified and replaced a faulty bcm (body control module). i took the vehicle to a local dodge dealership about a month ( june 2019), for the same problem and the dealership identified the wiring harness to be faulty. after some diagnosis, the dealership reset the codes, asked me to drive the vehicle some more to see if the problem reoccurs. it has been a month since i took the vehicle to the dealership and the problem has reoccured several times. i feel this is a real safety issues especially when i have my kids in the car and the electrical issues arises while the vehicle is in motion. this problem is very concerning to me as the problem has occured one time while i was driving on the highway, and three time while driving on city streets. please investigate this matter urgently as i consider this ...

The infotainment system head unit failed causing gps navigation, hvac/blower, compass, and climate temperature control to not function. i had to replace it with a new unit costing $806.25. the warranty was expired. it suddenly did not work one day when i turned the vehicle on in the morning.

The tail light of the vehicle is not sealed and accumulates moisture causing it to short out. the tail light has been replaced 3 time previously by dodge. it has now happened a fourth time and dodge is not standing behind it. the most recent tail light is less than 2 years old.

T36 recall for the alternator directly impacts the performance of the powertrain computer model and requires replacement.

Water continues to leak and pool inside the tail light and has caused some of the led bulbs to go out.

The racetrack tail light will fill with water during a rain storm causing the rear running light to go out. this could pose a serious safety issue if the running lights go out at night. i started noticing this problem on or around 4/12019 and has progressively gotten worse. doing research has lead me to several posts on the internet with others having this same issue. here is just one of the many link talking about this problem. https://www.dodgedurango.net/forums/durango-discussions-2014/42937-poll-water-tail-light-2014-a-26.html

Chexk engine light has been coming on and off for the past few days. got it scanned and the code the comes up is a p052 - faulty oul pressure sensor. after some research i found there are quite a few other models effected by this issue but only certain ones are being repaired without cost to customer. on my dash the oil preasure reads at 85%-100% at idle and stays at 100% when giving it gas.
