Dodge has issued a recall on the tipm system for the 2011 dodge durango's. although i am having the same issues they are stating that my car is not under the recall as it is only for 2011 durango's. my suv is having the same exact problem but dodge is refusing to fix it and will not provide any assistance. *tr

Vehicle would not start, took to dealership and was told it is the tipm but that the part is on back order and they can't say how long it will be. *tr

Trying to start vehicle and will not start, when i turn the key it will want to start and get stuck in a starting position, but not start. i had taken it in to a dealership and they said they fixed it, but as soon as the next day, it did it again. they wanted me to take it in again and leave it there for another week, i don't know about other people, but i do not have an extra vehicle around to use to get to work. chrysler/dodge dealerships should have loaner vehicles or some kind of deal at a rental company for their customers. putting us out of a vehicle is just not right! i called again to the dealership and notified them that i will drop off my vehicle today and they said they would not be able to get to my dodge until sometime next year in the second week. not cool!!! he said they had over 195 vehicles ahead of me........what does that say about chrysler/dodge! (vehicle mileage is approx., paperwork in vehicle). *tr

Same as nhtsa campaign number: 14v530000, my vehicle had the exact same symptoms: will not start, start then stalls, fuel pump continued to run. luckily i was at home when it happened. finally got it to dealership and it was diagnosed as the fuel pump relay problem. my vehicle was not covered under the recall since it is 2012 but has the same relay and tipm as 2011. i elected to have the repair done at the cost of $530 instead of the tipm replacement at $1400. please look into this further as there is already a recall on this same problem in the 2011 durango. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 dodge durango. the contact received a notice for nhtsa campaign id number: 14v391000 (electrical systems) and stated that the part needed was unavailable to perform the repair. the manufacturer was notified of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure.

Pulling out of our driveway accelerated the car died.pushed it back into the driveway where it now sits .cannot let my wife drive a car that i got for her as a present. it does start but i found out that the fuel relay on this car is subject to failure. chrysler jeep dodge has to replace the whole tipm (fuse box ) because all the relays are made by the same company, omron. they proposed a patch for this fix not acceptable .the tipm has to be sealed from moisture and dielectric grease applied and reliable relays not by omron http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/channel-2-investigates-possessed-cars-and-their-da/nkcq3/ .http://verticalvisions.com/tipm_solutions.php

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 dodge durango. the contact stated while driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the engine failed to restart and the vehicle was towed to the dealer where the alternator was replaced. the failure recurred the same day the repair was performed. an additional repair was performed and the dealer replaced the alternator connector. the vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v634000 (electrical system) however, the part needed was unavailable. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 75,000.

Car battery is dead, battery is fine, possible faulty tipm.l *tr

To date i have not received a recall letter from fiat chrysler america (fca) re; the alternator assembly must be replaced and the tipm contains an internal fuel pump relay that can fail. in oct 2014 i was verbally informed by lustine dodge in woodbridge va about these recalls, but told that they had no remdy or parts to fix the issue. following the news report it appears that fca is dragging their feet to fix the issue and putting drivers of the the vehicles in question in danger.

My letter to darcar regarding my dodge durango:i must say even with all the issues being reported ,your shop and technicians are completely oblivious to cars. i informed them when my car was towed because complete electrical power was gone that it was due to the tipm issue. i keep being force fed that it's just the battery no crank no start. even when recommendation present it's a possible tipm issue and i have a diagnostic ran i get some bs about another diagnostic charge because tipm is separate. so i told them to fix the battery issue just to try and prove a point a $600 point that is. not only when i get the car does it take [xxx] near 30 minute to try and get it to the front i see your technicians jumping my car. i though it was fixed? i paid for it to be fixed. so i try and put it in drive it shuts down. oh well we going to put another battery in. come get the car get it home to find out this morning same [xxx] problem. your service is terrible and if any vehicle has a darcar chrysler dodge affiliated with it i won't buy and recommend that no one else does. by the way i asked if it could make it to nc for my aunts funeral with my 5 children and wife. sure it should be fine as long as it doesn't sit for long periods of time. overnight must be a long ass period of time for your service thank you i will miss my aunts funeral. *tr information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

On oct 3, 2014, this issue first occurred with my dodge durango. it took several attempts of the vehicle "turning over" for it to actually start. then on oct 10, my vehicle spontaneously stopped in traffic. then it took several attempts to get it restarted. i had my codes and battery tested, no issues were detected. this problem starting the vehicle has been going on several times a day since oct 3. attempts to contact chrysler have been a dead end. i feel like i've been getting the runaround. a recall should have been issued long before now as i have seen several other dodge durango owners who have or are currently having these issues. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 dodge durango. while attempting to start the vehicle, the battery was drained and the engine failed to start due to a faulty alternator. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who indicated that the battery was faulty. the battery was replaced but the failure persisted. the recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 14v63400 (electrical system) was received in november of 2014. after contacting the dealer and the manufacturer on multiple occasions, the contact was informed that the parts needed to repair the vehicle were still not available and no estimated time for receiving the parts could be provided. the failure mileage was 60,000.

Tl*the contact owns a 2012 dodge durango. the contact received a notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 14v391000 (electrical system) and 14v154000 (service brakes , service brakes, hydraulic). however, the vehicle was unable to be serviced under the recall because the part needed was unavailable to perform the repair. the manufacturer was not notified of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure.

My 2012 dodge durango would not start, the engine would turn over but not start. after 5 attempts it started and i drove it to the dealership and after test i was told that the tipm had an open circuit. *tr

Right turning signal turns on by itself and is hard to turn off, could cause an accident by having a car pulling out in front of us believing we are turning. cruise control does not maintain speed. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 dodge durango. while turning the ignition key to start the vehicle, the contact heard a clicking noise and the engine would not start. the contact was able to start the engine after several attempts. in addition, while stopped at a red light, the vehicle suddenly stalled. the vehicle was towed to the dealer who diagnosed that the wiring for the fuel pump relay inside the totally integrated power module needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 38,000.

Starter won't engage after 4 or 5 attempts to turn the key, engine started. tipm had to be replaced. took car to be serviced at dodge dealer 2 two times reporting that car will only start after 4 or 5 attempts. after 36k miles warranty expired took car to mechanic and he replaced tipm, car is running fine now. *tr

This car does not always start and can stall at any time. chrysler has recalled the 2011 models as of 2 days ago for a faulty tipm, my 2012 has the exact same problem with the exact same part and i am having to pay $1400 to replace it. *tr

At about 54k/56k miles the airbag and check engine light began to go on and off. when i got it checked they did not report anything outside of air is system but that was covered in the diagnostic. then the car would make sudden jumps for no reason, airbag and engine and brakelights repeadedly came on and off. while attending my nephew funeral i got it checked since i would be on the road for no less than 4 hrs. i later found out there was a break recall once i got that fixed (16 dec) the dash was flashing everything airbags, brakes, engine. once i parked the car the nest day it would not come on. a jump did not work. had it towed and told it was the fuel pump system for a car just a little over two years old and that chrysler was only paying for 2011 durangos for this issue. so i am paying in less than a week over $800 for an item clearly thats an issue and was told i should have gotten an extended warranty to avoid not paying factory defected equipment. dissappointed as i always buy american but chyrsler just lost a customer and gained negative advertisement. *js

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 dodge durango. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 14v154000 (service brakes, service brakes, hydraulic ), 14v634000 (electrical system), and 15v115000 (electrical system); however, the parts to do the repairs were unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. the manufacturer was not notified of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure.

Check engine light came on saturday, august 30, 2014. took car to the dodge dealer and was told on friday, september 5, 2014 that the issue was a faulty air in take sensor. on saturday, september 6, 2014 the air intake sensor was replaced. dealership was getting ready to drive the vehicle 30 miles to allow the system to reset when they discovered the problem was with the tipm (computer system which is the brains of the vehicle). the faulty tipm is preventing the fuel injector to function properly at start up so that the vehicle stalls and fails to start. after several attempts the vehicle will start but if left idle will stall and engine cuts off. *tr

I have been experiencing issues with vehicle not starting with both the inside push button, and the remote start. it has lost power while driving twice, however i was able to maintain control of the vehicle. yesterday however, it lost power, i still had control of the vehicle while it was shutting down, then it "powered" back up, during which there was about three seconds in which i had no control over the vehicle. i simply lost all control.i believe that the vehicle may be experiencing problems related to the fuel pump relay, possibly the tpim, alternator, or a combination of all three. i am taking vehicle in monday to have two recalls done for brake booster, and vanity light wiring issue. at that time they are going to do a diagnostic on it to see what the issue is. *tr

On several occasions my 2012 dodge durango would acted like it was having a hard time turning over when i would start it. one time all of my auxiliary lights lit up and then the entire suv cut off. after i had my oil changed 09/08/14 my 2012 dodge durango started having even more issues with starting up . it would take me anywhere from 3-10 times to get it started. i heard a sizzling sound under the suv after i had parked it and got home. the next morning the entire suv was dead. my neighbor was able to jump start it, so i went and purchased a brand new battery. it still had issues starting, but after several attempts it would finally turn over. it even completely cut off on me while i was sitting at a stop light. last night i heard the same sizzling sound somewhere underneath my durango and this morning it was completely dead again. this time it wouldn't even turn on even after giving it a jump. obviously it's not just me. this situation is so unfair because right now my car doesn't work at all and the dealership is acting as if they have no idea what i'm talking about. if i was able to 'easily' figure out there is an obvious issue that we are all having just by doing a simple google search, you would think the 'experts' responsible for selling me my car and working on it would know too. individuals and big companies who take advantage of moral correct people always end up losing in the end. i hope they do the responsible thing and recall the faulty tipm associated with all of our vehicles with no charge to us. *tr

2012 dodge durango crew v6 tipm problem. vehicle is starting to show signs of a faulty/failing tipm as many others are and recall should be issued by chrysler as this is a known problem that has occurred in the past. this failure can cause the airbags not to deploy when needed and can cause the vehicle to stall without warning possible causing a traffic accident. the vehicle is currently having a hard time starting as no power is being fed to the fuel pump. *tr

Failure of tipm (totally integrated power module) on 2012 dodge durango. started with hard starting (long time to start engine), then led to vehicle starting and immediately shutting off. finally, while driving, vehicle stalled on multiple occasions. extremely dangerous, vehicle stalled on me while i was pulling onto a 6 lane roadway with other vehicles approaching. when vehicle stalls, you loose control of all power functions, including (but not limited to) power steering, power brakes, lights, windshield wipers, and (from what i've heard) airbags. chrysler has done a recall on the 2011 model year vehicles, but needs to address the issue with the 2012 models as well. when i took the vehicle to the dealership, they weren't surprised when they found that it was the tipm, explaining to me that they were getting a lot of complaints from other owners of the same make and model vehicle. of course, this all happened just after the warranty expired, costing me just over $1100.00 out of pocket. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 dodge durango. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 14v154000 (service brakes, service brakes, hydraulic), 14v391000 (electrical system) and 15v115000 (electrical system) however, the part needed to do the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure.

Totally integrated power module (tipm) - tried to start my car one morning and it wouldn't start. made sounds like it was trying to turn over so i stopped and tried again and it started. each day it got worse. then it happened again at lunch and after work so was happening 3 times a day. car started to stall in the middle of the street or make odd sounds like the engine was revving up. almost got hit by a car with my young son in the car and started to get to a point when it just didn't want to hardly start after trying for 10 or more minutes. took to the shop and after waiting for 3 days they told me it was the tipm module and would cost $1281.15 to fix. this was just today. i told him i don't have that kind of money. i went searching online wondering more about this issue and come to find so many people have this problem even a class action suit has been filed. this issue is dangerous. to stall in the middle of a street for no reason and then not be able to get your car started again is beyond scary. when this many people have the same problem with the same module something has to be done. even someone in my own city had to wait for the part on back order. a recall must be done before someone is hurt or killed, please! *tr

Vehicle starts then stalls out, or just cranks and cranks, and won't start. happened a few times at stop lights after short drive. was able to finally get started to drive to dealer, was told i could either replace the tipm for over $1000, or do a fuel relay bypass to the existing tipm for a little over $550. same exact problem all the recalled durango/grand cherokees have, yet the 2012's haven't been recalled? why? vehicle left us stranded multiple times in fl heat with infant in car. *tr

Vehicle failed to start. possibly ruined the battery. *tr

Airbag light, then loss of power. hard to crank and will lose power while driving. *tr

The issue began as i took my truck in for a recall on the brake system. i informed that i was having issues with the cruise control system not functioning. since then the cruise control issue had a diagnostic that darcars is informing there is not issue but no replacement or suggestions have been presented. i began having problems with the push start around 8/1. when trying to start the truck it will not turn over and eventually will stall out completely. so i attempted to remote start which worked for a couple of days. soon it began to cause the same problem. since then i have been starting the car with the key. until 9/22, on that morning my son stated he heard a hissing sound from the rear driver tire. i also heard this sound at approximately 2:15 pm. which prompted me to call darcars service center because a vanity light recall was just mailed to us. so i tried to schedule an appointment. before i left work at 5:30 i attempted to unlock the door and could not without the key being inserted to the door. the car would not crank. i started realizing i was having the same nightmare as others tipm. the car is now being worked on but they are calling the issue everything but what it is so that i purchase a full pump relay, throttle box, and battery. costing me 1400 plus 140 for another diagnostic please attach to p54 recall multiple stalls and non functioning vehicle. *tr

I have been told that the tipm is defective. the car will crank and not start. the car says that is running and is not. it has shut off while i was driving. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 dodge durango. the contact stated that the battery warning light illuminated. the contact mentioned that both the exterior and interior lighting started to flash on and off. the vehicle was taken to the dealer. the technician diagnosed that the alternator was defective and needed to be replaced. however, the vehicle could not be repaired since the parts were not available to perform the remedy for nhtsa campaign number: 14v634000 (electrical system). the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 43,000.

Several times while driving, the electronic throttle light comes on along with the check engine light and immediately begins to jerk while on the freeway/surface streets. it nearly caused an accident once due to the drastic reduction in power and speed. service people found nothing wrong and were no help. it has repeated this several times with my kids in the car. when it first happened, we were on a road trip 2200 miles away from home...limited options. each time we had to stop and rest by turning off engine, waiting/or restarting in neutral. truly a danger/safety issue and major inconvenience.

Tipm failed. took over a week to order part. car is unsafe due to this malfunction. *tr

Initially in early july, 2014 my 2012 dodge durango developed a computer failure causing the battery to eventually drain, loss of engine power and ability to maintain or accelerate. repair was made after the vehicle was towed to the local dodge dealer, manfredi dodge, staten island n.y , and subsequently the battery repaired and the computer replaced. shortly after the repair was completed the passenger airbag failure light would intermittently illuminate and the vehicle occasionally would not start. another trip to the dealer and the passenger seat airbag sensor was reported faulty and the vehicle tipm sensor needed replacement or repair. conferral with the dealer suggested that the tipm sensor be replaced rather than repaired to assure longevity of the repair and overall satisfaction. vehicle is a lemon! *tr

I have a 2012 dodge durange rt. when parked at a gas station, tried to turn engine on with push start switch and engine does not start. when pushing start switch again it makes the sound like the engine is trying to turn over but does nothing. in order to get the engine to stop from making the turn over noise i have to move from park to in gear. then i receive the "ignition or accessory on" message. in order to get the message clear i have to turn off vehicle without pressing the brake. this puts the engine into the off mode and i have to start the process to get the car to start all over again. this has happened multiple occasions and i have video to show the defect. i have done research and read this issue with many people saying it is the tipm defect. also, when using my right blinker instead of the front blinker working my fog lights flash. for the vehicle to not start or stall is a big safety concern and liability. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 dodge durango. while driving 40 mph or higher, the vehicle turned off when the brake pedal was depressed. in addition, all the electrical systems disengaged. there were no warning indicators illuminated. when the vehicle was restarted, it resumed normal operation. the failures occurred intermittently. the contact called premier chrysler (located at 7301 artesia blvd, puena park, ca 90621, 714-528-5337), but they were unable to determine the cause of the failures. the manufacturer was made aware of the failures and opened a case, which had not been resolved. the approximate failure mileage was 10,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 dodge durango. the contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. the contact mentioned that the vehicle had been operating sluggishly prior to the failure. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v115000 (electrical system); however, the part needed to do the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue. the failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

I have been waiting five months for parts for dodge manufacutrer p14 recall. i had to wait six months for the replacement of one shock asorber. dodge responce was a "new parts hold" i called my local dodge dealer (nyle maxwell taylor, tx) regarding the p14 recall. i was told i was #26 in line to recieve the proper repair. so i am left to believe that it takes dodge six months to a year to finally address safety recalls. in the meantime i have no choice but to continue to drive a potential accident/safety hazard. most recent recall is p36. i guess my vehicle has to catch fire before this recall is addressed. *tr

Our 2012 dodge durango r/t was purchased brand new as a replacement for lemon law buy back of our 2009 dodge journey. the durango is plagued with design flaws. the most obvious is the tipm total integrated module. the failure of this module resulting in our vehicle catching fire. the vehicle cranks but does not start at times, other times when it starts it dies in the street. while taking it to the dealership for repairs they would not repair it and another dealer denied the repairs. the only loaner i was placed in was a brand new durango with the plastic still covering the seats, floor etc. the brand new loaner also contained a faulty tipm. we didn't even have the loaner a day because the lights were bright lighting everyone, alarm was going off driving down the road, radio was crackling, the instrument panel was flashing. our durango contains all of these issues; left and right rear tail light assemblies are dead, both front struts are blown leaking, spraying fluid under the vehicle onto the frame and brake(s), line(s), transmissions is leaking, high engine oil consumption. our durango is still under factory warranty, plus a platinum extended warranty. while our vehicle is covered under an extended warranty they will not pay for a rental car because the tipm is national backordered part. please.... you have to recall this vehicle before others are injured or killed! *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 dodge durango. the contact stated while driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle decelerated independently. the failure also occurred when driving from a complete stop. the vin was included in nhtsa campaign id number: 15v115000 (electrical system) however, the part needed to perform the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 35,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 dodge durango. while the vehicle was idling at a traffic light, there was a delay in acceleration without warning. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v115000 (electrical system). the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
