Changing tire, vehicle jack failed and came crashing down almost killing the driver. upon review found jack failed. main bolt appears to have some kind of metal failure bolt bent and jack fall down. 2006 7 passenger caravan sxt model 3.3 engine. half tank of gas. this can be an issue if these jacks were made out of poor metal and now 8 years later they start to fail. *tr

06 dodge caravan (fmi handicap conversion)- issue spewing gasoline: >filled up approx 9am aug 4th 2011 > parked at residence > 2pm preparing to go out-of-town > heard humming from left rear > noticed gas cap appear "cross-threaded" & was "hissing" > me in a electric wheelchair, parked facing cap > my son turned cap > gas spewed out like a fire hydrant point blank in my face > gas did not just spray, it spewed out over a half a tank, spewing it 18-20 feet, lasting about a minute. > dodge mfg srv ctr said (troy), "not sure what caused it, we think it was a closed solenoid purge valve cause mech blew in it & couldn't get no air through it" > i said "you think?!" > he (troy) stated..."all we can say is, go fill it up, drive it around, & see if it does it again" > no error code nor did the "check engine" light ever come on...it should have! note: i'm a 42yr completely disabled [muscular dystrophy-no movement in legs/arms/body], i'm in a electric wheelchair...i have no choice but to use the van, but no one has given me a certain diagnosis, no one knows what could cause the gas to build so much pressure. the cap can't be "cross-threaded", there was so much pressure it in the process of blowing up....thank god it didn't! please help? *tr

'i have a 2006 grand caravan sxt. i have previously owned 2 grand caravans and 1 town and country. the rear right side door lock does not go up or down unless i manually pull it up or down.. the door does 'click' when i hit the key remote or overhead button, but the door will not open. if i pull the door the knob up manually, the key remote or overhead will allow the door to open and close. i went on the internet and the repair forum indicated that hundreds of the same situation existed with the grand caravan. no recall existed, but this certainly should have been with this safety malfunction. i was advised to remove the oid fuse and remove the battery cable. while this worked in a majority of cases, it did not work for me. i called chrysler and was told that it could be the bcm or door lock actuator or door harness. if the 'harness' was broken would the door be able to close or open? i was also advised that this could cost between $80.00 and $500.00. seems like a large 'spread of cost' to me. certainly not acceptable because you know as well as i do that if they find it to be a fuse, they'll charge the top price for repair. i have had experience with dealers before'. *tr

While driving our 2006 dodge caravan in the rain or thru a puddle the serpentine belt keeps slipping of comes off this is an on going problem and the date listed below is the latest incident. this seems to me like a safety issue, power steering is lost and if not expecting this problem an accident could happen. *tr

Have had '06 grand sxt to dealer twice about sliding doors on both pass/drive side. in trying to close door using either push button/remote/visor button door will clunk and door motor runs for 2~3 seconds and door does not move. dealer has replaced door motors twice... i think this is becoming close to being a lemon ! that was one of the buying points of this model was electric doors :((((( been very dissatisfied thus far. *tr

I have a 2006 dodge grand caravan and i have 55,000 miles on it. my air bag light came on and it stays on. the book said to get it fixed immediately so i called a dealership that is 30 miles one way and they said it would cost $79.00 to look at it and it would cost up to $300.00 if the air bag sensor was bad. i then called a local auto shop and they said they could check it for $49.00 and they did. the rt front air bag sensor was indeed bad. it had corrosion inside it. the total bill might come to $150.00 or more. i checked on line and see, there was a dodge/chrysler recall on the 2005 model for corrosion getting in the sensor and causing them to fail (which is the same thing my 2006 did) why isn't the 2006 models included in the recall? i called chrysler and they said if it gets put on a recall list then i would be reimbursed for my expenses because that would be a safety issue no matter where i had it fixed. *tr
