Tl*the contact owns a 2001 dodge caravan. the service dealer informed the contact of an evaporation leak at the filler neck that needed to be replaced. the contact believes that this is a safety issue that needs to be recalled. the current and failure mileages were 44,325. the consumer stated was informed by dealer that over 300 customers needed the same part. the consumer stated was finally able to have the part replaced on 07/27/07. updated 09/05/07 *tr
2001 dodge caravan - private mechanic replaced fuel filter, had to drop gas tank to do so as that is only access. this resulted in total disconnect from fuel neck filler line, etc. after replacement and reinstall of gas tank, engine light comes on. mechanic tried to fix, replaced gas cap. cannot get light to go off. will have to drop gas tank again in future for repair. no other codes coming up for engine light. reason: compression leak in fuel line, system. *tr
The dashboard illuminated. took vehicle to the dealer, and was told the fuel system had a leak. also, air was getting into the system. found that the fuel filler neck had to be replaced because it was corroded. *ak
