Recently reported ELECTRICAL SYSTEM problems on 2008 Dodge Avenger

We were driving on the highway about 65 mph when our electric throttle control indicator light along with our engine light came on. when this happened we did not have a speedometer or rpm gauge. all of the lights that are related to the shifter (park, neutral, drive) also all lit up. the car did continue to drive but had less power. we pulled over and turned the car off. we tried to start it again but it would not start at first. the power locks and truck release would not work either. after about 5 minutes we tried it again and everything worked. the check engine light did stay on but the car drove fine. the engine light is still currently on. *tr

Vehicle conditions only happen when it is raining outside. vehicle stalls or idles erratically during deceleration and hesitates when taking off from a stop. *tr

Problem 1) the air bag lights would come on intermittently. problem 2) the engine stalls intermittently, especially on rainy days. problem 3) the front speakers sounded cracked or damaged and then over a short period of time the left speaker quit and the right speaker is majorly distorted. i might add this is not due to over cranking the stereo. this is due to cheap/inadequate quality speakers used. *tr

Left headlight and right brakelight comes on without request. turn signals begin blinking rapidly. tipm is failing. [xxx] vin [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

The window regulators and motors continuously go out causing the windows to be unable to roll up or down. i have replaced them at least twice since 2010 and they now need to be repaired again, for a third time. this has happened while stationary, while driving on city streets, and while driving on highways.

I have a 2008 dodge avenger that burst into flames all of a sudden when i was headed home from work during rush hour on a city street doing between 25-30 miles an hour. there was no warning when a man started shouting for me to get out of the car. in another half an hour my kids would have been in the car. this is the third time i've heard of this happening with this chrysler made car, yet the insurance is giving me the run-a-round. i'm sure with instructions from chrysler. i need them to pay up, i need to be able to get to work and take my children to day care. i could have been killed cause there is obviously a defect in the engine or fuel system. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 dodge avenger. the contact stated that when he engaged the turning signal, the windshield wipers would activate simultaneously without warning. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where the technician was unable to diagnose a failure. a monitoring system was placed in the vehicle to help diagnose the failure. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 36,000 and the current mileage was 115,000.

My 2008 dodge avenger had been sitting in front of my house since the beginning of may 2011. on the 24th of june 2011 i decided to take it in to the dodge dealers to have it fixed. while driving on the highway the car suddenly started to make a loud roaring noise and jerk. i drove into an exit in order to get off the highway. while trying to turn the steering wheel to enter the yard of a station i noticed that there was no response. the car kept sliding towards the curb. i had to quickly pull up the handbrakes to stop the car from running into the curb and beyond. then it stalled blocking the entrance to the gas station. before totally stopping, all the lights and indicators on the dash board were going on and off like crazy this is the second time that i have had to tow the car in to the dodge people. the first time, in 2010, the shift stick would not budge from park to drive and the car just wouldn't start. we had it towed to the dodge dealer in baltimore. in january of 2011, we had had to take the car in to dodge repair shop for a problem for which they had recalled their vehicles, including ours. we mentioned to the mechanics at the dodge repair shop about a loud noise that we were hearing. they had said that the loud noise was probably the alternator. we bought this car in march 2009 at a ford dealer in baltimore. we noticed very soon after, that the clock raced ahead. next the controls on the driver's side stopped working and would not lock nor unlock any of the doors. only the controls on the passenger's side worked. the cost to fix the alternator is $650. it has cost us, not only car rental fees taxi fees and towing fees, but the uncertainty of safety on the road. this is a very unfair deal for any consumer. this is a vehicle that needs to be recalled and consumers compensated or refunded.. *tr

Rpms dip low and the engine revs up daily. car dies at stop lights or when making slow turns about monthly but getting more and more frequent. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 dodge avenger. the contact stated that the etc warning light illuminated and as a result, she was unable to start the vehicle. in addition, the vehicle would surge forward intermittently. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was neither diagnosed nor repaired. the current and failure mileages were 99,939.

Tl*the contact owns a 2008 dodge avenger. the contact stated while driving 40 mph there was an electronic control model light that illuminated causing the vehicle to shake uncontrollably. the vehicle was parked on the side of the road because the contact was unable to drive due to the shaking. the vehicle was towed to a local mechanic. there have been no diagnostic test performed. the dealer nor the manufacturer were notified of the failure. the vin was unknown. the failure mileage was 42,000.

Vehicle stalling since date of purchase february 2009. brought into dealership with complaint and they replaced the fuel pump. problem continued with the addition of a gas smell after initial start of vehicle. have brought the car in for service to dealership and they could not find the problem. brought the vehicle in for other complaints and i again told the service dept that the car continued to have the same issue with the stalling and gas odor. the service dept tool my car for a test drive while i was still there and since they could not replicate the problem my vehicle was not serviced for the issue nor was it fixed. i called to have the vehicle looked at once again in february 2011 and was told i would be called by the new person in charge of my car and i did not receive a call. i did speak with someone giving them the details of the fas smell and the stall issue. after 2 weeks of no return call i called the service dept and was told my warranty had just expired and would not be covered. when i spoke to the service dept in february i asked about several recalls that had to do with the electrical wiring of the same model and year as my vehicle and was told it did not include my vin # but there are numerous complaints of electrical issue of these vehicle and the service dept cannot seem to find the electrical problems until the car completely breaks down. on may 5, 2011 my car stalled again and the dealership says it is an electrical problem with the car. my car would stall several times a week while sitting at a light and the gas smell would occur everytime i start the car. the dealership does not know how to fix/find the problem until the car no longer runs. the electrical issue burned out the battery and could have caused a serious accident. *tr

Purchased my 2008 dodge avenger in april 2008 and have had nothing but problem after problem with it first the air bags were recalled then the latches on the doors were recalled. the tire pressure sensor light just never goes off most recently the fuel pump went on the vehicle costing me close to 700 and now the alternator which is going to cost me another 600. what kind of vehicle did dodge build. this is some bs an all of this is while the vehicle only has about 65000 miles or less n it. *tr

I purchased this vehicle from a used car lot a year and a half ago. from the very first day i purchased the car, i had problems which are recorded with the place of purchase. i was told i could not get my money back. the only remedy offered was for the actual car dealership who sold me the vehicle would fix the problem. the first problem iv'e had started with the head lights, it then went onto my entire electrical system that gives mileage, warnings ect went out. soon after that the alarm system, horn ,and door locking system. there after "a pin" in which holds the gear in place went out and would not operate. the next thing that went out was the entire air conditioning and heating system. on or around april 12 there was a what looked like a spark near the air conditioning panel. when i removed the panel, there was evidence that there was a small spark or fire that actually melted a switch on the cooling and heating elements. it has yet to work since then. today the 11/29/11 my car completely stalled while i was turning into a very dangerous intersection. this car is a total death trap waiting to happen. unfortunately i am a single mother of 3 children with very little options financially to do otherwise. i have attempted several times to schedule recalls to be fixed by the dodge dealer and they have not been helpful at all. there is no rental car offered and the estimated time of repair is not feasible. i hope this information will help. *kb

My 2008 dodge avenger first exhibited this problem in march 2011. i am the only owner and i bought it new. especially in wet weather but occasionally in other instances, the engine will shut off but all electrical equipment- the radio, lights, dashboard and a/c will remain on. this occurs when braking at a stop light or slowing to make a turn- usually when at low speed as when pulling into a driveway. i then must put the car in park, turn off the ignition then restart the car and it always restarts immediately. i have talked to the dealership i bought the car at more than once about the issue but they say they cannot recreate the problem and so can't diagnose it, but this issue only occurs periodically in wet conditions so being able to recreate it at the dealership is unlikely. i would estimate it has happened around 15 to 20 times in the past 4 years. i have seen recalls for other dodge and chrysler vehicles that sound similar but none for the avenger. i hope dodge will issue a recall on this malfunction as it sounds like there are many other people with the same problem. i feel like this could easily cause an accident. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2008 dodge avenger. while driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle stalled. the contact pulled the vehicle to the side of the road. the vehicle was towed to the dealer. the technicians stated the battery and fuel pump needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the contact was aware of recall 08v152000 (electrical system: wiring) and was informed by the manufacturer the repairs had been performed on the vehicle prior to the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 57,300.

Tl*the contact owns a 2008 dodge avenger. the contact stated that there was an intermittent electrical failure that was progressing with no warning. the radio shorted, the instrument cluster shorted for various sensors, the clock was not reading properly and the vehicle was stalling. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the electrical connectors for the tpms were corroded and caused a short circuit. the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign id number: 08v152000 (electrical system). the vehicle was not repaired. the vehicle was to be taken to an authorized dealer for further inspection, diagnosis and repair. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

I have a leaky trunk in my 2008 dodge avenger. my window also stopped working on my drivers side. after searing the internet i discovered many others with this same issue. if an official recall notice was made this would prevent vehicle owners from spending thousands of dollars on repairs that should be made by the dealer. the trunk has been leaky since i bought the card and dodge keeps telling me nothing it wrong. it also makes my third break light go out i've been issued 3 police warnings for this. i hope i never get a ticket. also, my window is now stuck down and if it rains i will have damage. as for the trunk its also moldy and makes me sick when i get into the car. *tr

I have a 2008 dodge avenger rt. in the beginning of december, when i would start up my car all of the warning lights would come on and then the car would cut off. i would try again in 30mins or so and it would start and stay running, but the engine light would stay on and read no bus. eventually the light went off and the car ran fine. the same problem happened again except this time the car wouldn't come back on. i had aaa come out to charge and check the battery, and they said that my battery was dead, but it was a good battery. something in my electrical system was causing it to drain. i took my car to thompson chrysler and told them that it wasn't the battery. they claimed to fix the problem days later, but within an hour of picking it up i had the same problem, warning lights except this time the car was shaking violently. i took the car to them 4 times with today being the 5th. they replaced my battery 2 times as if that was the problem and ripped out my alarm system the last time. i had to pay for this, but the same problem is not fixed. corporate was of no help in the situation. i am seeking legal counsel because this morning i was in the middle of the road when the car shut off. i'm just relieved that the baby wasn't in the car. *tr

My 2008 avenger stalls when accelerating. it seems to happen when it is wet and cold out. it happens mostly when you are at a complete stop and push the gas or when you are slowing down and the accelerate. i have almost been in several accidents due to this happening. i have taken it to the dodge dealership and they said they can't find anything wrong. there is definitely something wrong. *tr

I have been having problems with my dodge avenger for about 40,000 miles now and have had it into multiple shops without the problem being solved. the electronic throttle control light comes on and off at random times either causing my car to shut off while im going down the road, cause power lag with no acceleration about 45 mph or shifting into different gears, or the engine light comes on along with the etc light and the car will idle very high then very low and repeat the process making the car unable to drive. the vehicle has shut off on me while going down interstate and highways and i've almost been hit several times because of it. i see lots of postings with the same issue but there are no recalls on this issue which dealerships do not know how to fix. i've been told to change the battery, the tpms was messing up, the throttle valve was sticking, improper fuel delivery, and that the car wasn't getting enough air. none of these once fixed were the cause of the car freaking out and now im forced to drive day to day with my son in the car hoping it works well enough that an accident wont happen. i've seen enough complaints about the electronic throttle control that there should have been a recall a long time ago to fix this yet it's been 4 years and still nothing is being done to help make peoples vehicles safe again that they paid for. *tr

Automatic transmission: i was not able to put the car into drive, reverse or neutral. *tr

While i was driving with the air conditioning on i noticed the left 2 vents were coming out warm air. a couple days later there was a mist coming through the only 2 vents that work. i took it in and was told my heatercore/heater housing was broke. that would cost $900.00 to fix. also i have had my car stall 6 times, mostly when it is raining and i am coming to a stop sign or stop light. i took it in for that but they couldn't find anything. i also had the clock run 2 min fast every day or two. that had to be updated which doesn't make since to me since it is a 2008 car. it should not need an update on the clock. that was $50.00. the car has 56,000 miles on it. *tr

My 2008 dodge avenger started making a loud noise. the dealership told me it was my alternator. but i have power to everything. they told me they could get one for 360.00 +100.00 labor. total miles 78,000. i was also told by the dealership that this has happened alot on mini vans.and other cars, but come to find out it may just be the clutch bearing and only going to cost 75.00 to fix. seems to me chrysler would not try to sell you things you don't need. someone needs to bring them to the carpet. the car was only 3,000 miles out of the ext.ml.warranty. *tr

April 5, 2010 my 2008 dodge avenger totally stalled out on me and i had to maneuver my vehicle to the side of the road and put my vehicle into park. this is the third incident in which this has happened, the first incident was on the highway going 55 mph and stalled out with traffic in back of me.i currently have my vehicle in the shop because my car shut down once again and the radio completely shut off. everytime this happen there are no codes which appear on the diagnostics. i am confused what to do about this vehicle it is unsafe and want to know what i can do. *tr

Engine stalling without warning no gas pedal car runs at idle only. *tr

The car will automatically shut down in the middle of the road and the shifter then the car will lock up, and once you put the car into park it will not shift from park. this happened to me and i was stuck in the middle of a busy intersection. after much frustration and trying to shift the car out of park. the lever that was holding the car in park slipped out of place and allowed me to shift the car into neutral and me and the officer helping me were able to push the car to the nearest gas station. this occurs often and has occurred 3 times since that time which was the first. to replace the problem is to reprogram the computer. this cost $270.00. there has been many cases that i have read about this happening. it also seems to happen to everybody around 40,000 to 50,000 miles on the car. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 dodge avenger. while driving various speeds, the vehicle hesitated and failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. upon starting the vehicle, all the gear shifter indicators had squares around them and the transmission had difficulty shifting into the correct gear. in addition, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the approximate failure mileage was 40,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 dodge avenger. while driving 30 mph, the engine seized. on other occasions, the vehicle spontaneously accelerated and then dragged. also, the driver's seat belt detached without warning and the air bag warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the thermostat, clockspring, ecm manifold, throttle body, starter, battery, air fan, integrated power module, air conditioner, compressor, intake runner, steering wheel, and engine needed to be repaired. the vehicle was taken to brockton chrysler jeep dodge ram (241020 belmont st, brockton, ma 02301, (781) 961-1550), but was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. the failure mileage was 36,000. the vin was invalid.

Tl*the contact owns a 2008 dodge avenger. while the contact was driving approximately 10 mph, the engine stalled without warning. the vehicle restarted and was able to resume normally. the failure occurred three different times at various speeds. there was a recall associated with nhtsa campaign id number 08v152000 (electrical system:wiring). the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and they informed that there was not a recall. the technician advised that the diagnosis and repair would be at the owner's expense. the contact was in the process of notifying the manufacturer to verify the vin in regards to the recall defect. the vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired at the time of the complaint.

I purchased a 2008 dodge avenger last april, brand new. i have taken care of the vehicle, the lighting on the dash is always coming on, so i am constantly taking it to the shop and they run the diagnostics and they tell me nothing is ever wrong. i had to take the it in for a warranty problem on top of all of that. then this last time i thought it was making a funny noise with the brakes. i took it in and they said i have a leak in my transmission and oil tank, of course the only thing on the dash lighting this time says "tire problem". it is such an unsafe vehicle, i ran out of gas in the middle of making a turn in an intersection and my gas light wasn't on and the gage showed i had quarter of a tank. the car has caused me nothing but problems. then to top it off, i got in my car to go home from work and it wouldn't move out of gear and i had to call a tow truck. i have only had the car a year, if i wanted problems with a car i wouldn't have bought it brand new. *tr

One problem after another back hump brake light does not work due to water pouring into the trunk. (thru the trunk latch; smells like a cat used as a litter box)! no light goes on to let me know that the brake light no longer works. carpet in trunk is ruined from the water. leaves keep showing up into a closed trunk? how are they getting in? can not use the trunk for anything! called dodge and filed a complaint with then; they told me i was the only report at this time. on the road my husband and i noticed that almost all 2008 dodge avengers on the road must have the same problem. check your middle back brake light; it's burnt out trust me we saw many on the road. then check for water in the trunk it will be there. call dodge please' *tr

I have a wiring problem with my 2008 dodge advenger. i was driving down the road and i lost my head lights, turn signals, wiper blades, dash lights, high beams and i also have no daytime running lights. *tr

I have a dodge avenger 2008 which a complete lemon. i have taken my car to several dodge dealerships (~15x) after speaking the chrysler headquarters and all have refused to fix the car stating that there was not a problem with it. i currently have an extended contract 7yrs/70k warranty which i picked at the time of purchase and it is still valid, however no dodge dealer will serve my car. eventually i have had to pay out of pocket to fix the electrical problem and replace at least one catalytic converter because, dodge dealers would not fix the problem when it was at the 24k mile mark. so, please tell me which federal agency have the authority to holds the independent car dealerships and chrysler accountable to fix problems. your recall notices work only 25% of the time. do you all have a scorecard of actual vehicles being repaired in accordance to your notices because there is a big disconnect with companies such as chrysler. i have spent almost $4,000 in needed repairs (travel from ny to nj daily for work) because chrysler's independent companies refused to repair the vehicle and chrysler has told me that they have no control over the dealerships. so, which federal agency officiates control over unreliable car companies such as chrysler. how much collateral damages is required before chrysler and its management (and engineers) become accountable to consumers and the federal regulatory standards. as for me, $4,000 is a small cost to pay to avoid an accident and leave a child an orphan because the fuel tank was defective and caused at accident. what cost are you willing to pay? *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 dodge avenger. the contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle decelerated independently. the failure recurred constantly whenever it rained. additionally, the front driver's side window and mirror would not operate. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 1,000. *tr

Bought 2008 avenger in september 2007. in michigan cold weather the windows won't roll down. and when its wet the car stalls and comes to a complete stop, this has happened about 4 to 5 times and the tire light goes on even after checking and filling the tires to right pressure that has happened about 3 times. took it to the dealer and he said he fixed both the problems, waiting to see if it persists but driving the car is scary because i never know when it is going to stall and stop on me. *tr

The car when on highway tachometer fluctuates and when coming to a stop almost stalls. also today after the defroster/air conditioner was turned off when i came to a stop at a red light the car almost stalled then proceeded to counteract the stall by revving up to at least 2000 rpm's causing me to jump forward into the intersection. luckily no cars were in front of me because it would have caused a crash. *tr

This is a recurring issue with many 2008 dodge avenger sxt 2.7l. as the vehicle is stopping it stalls, or the computer in an attempt to stop a stall increases the rpms causing the car to speed up uncontrollably. i have since learned to slip the car into neutral so that it no longer jumps forward. i recommend a recall to solve this problem. *tr

On or about feb. 17, 2009 and continuing to present, my 2008 avenger has had numerous problems shifting. the problem started with hard shifting and transmission slippage. now, when driving at 45mph when the car goes to shift into overdrive, and misses 4th gear. there is a sudden loss of gears and the tachometer climbs rapidly because the overdrive gear will not engage. when engine rpm is lowered, car downshifts into 2nd gear (limp mode) and will not shift normally until the vehicle is turned off and re-started. the sudden loss of speed may result in a crash and personal injury to the occupants of the vehicle. i have seen numerous complaints on this problem and have noticed a lot of service bulletins related to improper shifting of the 2008 avenger. even though dodge is aware of the problems with the powertrain control module, they have refused to issue a recall on the module placing the safety of its customers below the importance of their profits. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 dodge avenger. while driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled. the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 115,000.

I was traveling in my '08 dodge avenger sxt w/my son making a left hand turn around a corner & vehicle just turned off by itself w/o warning. went head on into oncoming traffic & went up onto a curb. put vehicle into park & restarted it. the vehicle has to date shut off on us 6 x's. the even when incident happened was we were just driving the car-going home. the vehicle gives no signs, beeps or warnings that it is going to shut off. it just shuts off by itself. it has occurred a total of 6x's so far. i took the vehicle-which is still under original factory warranty-to the dodge dealership & notified the dealership where vehicle was purchased of the issues w/the vehicle. there are also recalls that were not fixed & electrical issues as well as transmission, brake & tires issues that are still as of this date not repaired because they "could not duplicate the problem". the dealership had the vehicle for 13 days before telling me the computer needed to be "flashed". they did that & car still stalls out when stopped @ stop signs or lights. they told me they do not know why it turned off on me & why the steering locked up & brakes locked up when it turned off. so therefore they cannot tell me that they know why the car has died & that the issue is even fixed! they will not say that it will not turn off on us again. i have researched online several sites (popular mechanics, etc.) & see that i am not the only one this has happened to. i bought this car to be able to have a safe, reliable & dependable car for me & my son. my son has cerebral palsy so i have to drive in this car. i feel that its 50/50 when we get in this car & that everytime could be the time when we're going 50 on the interstate in a turn & the car turns off & we hopefully don't die! i feel that this car has a major defect or flaw in its design somewhere. i love the car but i am scared to drive it now. i do not want me or my son to die in this car! its only a matter of time before someone does. thank you. *tr

Car running sluggish no power, taken to dealer nothing wrong, clicking in engine compartment when air conditioner on, dealer, nothing wrong, transmission pulling. soon after electrical, loud popping noise coming from passenger side everytime the air conditioner/heater turned on then off, defroster out on passenger side, and rear window, not working at all, air bag light turns on wont turn off, have to move front seat back then forward till light turns off, so irritated and disappointed expected better from dodge, american made?? wow lost for words. car is falling apart, i need my heater and defroster someone please help. *tr

Ignition sticking in the on position, jerking movements while in drive with some hold back. this vehicle was purchased june 13th, 2008, were any of the recalls corrected on this vehicle before purchase? *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 dodge avenger. the contact was driving 45 mph when the engine stalled. the vehicle was restarted and taken to the dealer who confirmed that the alternator was defective and there was as short the cruise control. the manufacturer was contacted and stated the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign id number: 08v152000 (electrical system: wiring). the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 75,900.

Car purchased 2/08 with 8999 miles. immediately there was a starting problem. using factory remote starting the car would stall after a few seconds. once it flooded and wouldn't restart without stepping on the accelerator pedal (a no no for this type of injection system). looked at by dealer three times with no problem found and no fix made. the fourth time we took it in for service they found(now approx. 21000 miles) it but still no code visible from computer. service writer said we needed a fuel injection service so i said do it. he said it wasn't covered by chrysler so i said don't do it. he was vehement about it needing to be done and pushed hard for me to pay and i maintained that if it needed to be done, it needed to be done from the day we bought it and now they want me to pay for what should be a warranty repair. note that it started fine with the key but not with the remote start. same fuel injectors are used for both starting protocols and for engine to run so which injector could be bad? didn't make sense and therefore was rejected by me. the fourth time they reset the computer which chrysler covered under warranty and paid the dealer 24minutes to fix. no more problem with the car starting with either the key or the remote starter button. no injector problems now or before the resetting of the computer. *tr

We own a 2008 dodge avenger. we received a recall letter (h07)concerning an electrical wiring problem that could cause the car to cut off without notice. we called the local dealership when we received the letter but they didn't have any information about it and said they would notify us when they received information. we never got a call from them. we experienced the car cutting off on several occasions but never when it was a dangerous situation. on saturday, may 3rd, 2008 at 7pm in the evening my son was driving the car and was braking to stop at an intersection and the car cut off causing him to lose all power steering and power brakes. he attempted to swerve to avoid hitting the car in front of him but was unable to totally miss the car. he hit the car in front of him because the car was too hard to steer and brake due to loss of power. after the accident we contacted dodge and our local dealership only to be told that our car is not involved in the recall. some 2008 avengers are involved but according to our vin they tell us our car is not involved. this could have been a very serious accident. i don't know why our car is not involved in the recall because we have experienced the problems that the recall notated. we would like the recall to be reevaluated and our car and possibly other 2008 avengers be included in the recall. once the body work is fixed on the car, we will take it to our local dealership and have them check out the problem. we are afraid to drive the car until we know the problem has been fixed because next time the accident could result in injury or death. *tr

I have had nothing but problems with my car. when i first purchased it 2 months later my shifter got stuck i was stranded at work. after that i have had various problems from the alternator, battery, and compressor going out various times and it is not even over 100,000 miles. i looked up there were recalls on the car back in 07 and 08. the dealership says that they fixed it but i feel like it was not fixed and i had the shifter problem right when i purchased that is the only thing they said they can fix. *tr
