The ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
2005 Chrysler Pacifica

I went for an oil change and was told that the engine cage is severely rotting away and driving my car is a road hazard. i only have 138,000 miles on my car and would like to drive it until it dies...but right now i was told the replacement part is no longer made and i would have to find a salvage car to find a replacement part. the quadrant remains that i bought a used car from a chrysler dealer that should have known about the recall on this part due to it not being manufactured correctly for corrosion resistance. apparently i am not the only one with this problem. if i were to sell it i would be passing a dangerous car on to someone else...i still owe on this car and it is worth less than what i owe let alone dangerous to drive to work 75 miles a day. chrysler needs to make amends or reparations for the lack of action regarding the safety issue here...and this is a big safety issue. *tr

The ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
2006 Chrysler Pacifica

Tuesday, october 25, 2016 the engine cradle rusted through and the engine lowered and the cradle itself was dragging along the street. my wife was leaving our town of owosso, michigan to go to doctor appointments in lansing, michigan about 35 miles away. the pacifica had 119,101 miles on it and was otherwise in excellent condition. we had purchased the car from a chrysler dealership about 15 miles away about seven years prior with 42,000 miles on it. it had always been serviced at the dealership until the dealership was sold in february 2016. without repair the value of the vehicle was just scrap metal, repair was an absolute to salvage any value, the repair cost $3214.07. *tr

My engine cradle is rusted/rotted out and completely unsafe to drive. i was told it can't pass inspection and will be approximately $2,000 to fix. my mechanic told me not to drive the car anymore, since the engine could fall out.after researching online, this is a very common problem with the 2005 pacificas. will there be a recall? would appreciate it if someone would get back to me asap, since i need my car to get to work. thank you. *tr

The ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
2005 Chrysler Pacifica

I took my car to a shop for repairs, and the mechanic was alarmed to find that the frame is so rusted under the engine that he deemed it unsafe to drive. my car has 185,000 miles on it, and is in otherwise good condition. it is not safe to drive as the engine could fall to the ground, potentially causing an accident. i was advised to get rid of the vehicle, but obviously i cannot sell it. i was never notified of this potential problem, although i have become aware that chrysler knew the problem existed. *tr

The ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
2006 Chrysler Pacifica

Just took my 2006 chrysler pacifica in for annual nys inspection as was told it failed due to severe rotting of the main engine cradle and it was a serious safety concern. this came as a total shock as the car has shown no other rusting of any body parts and has been a mechanically sound vehicle until this point. the mechanic showed me underneath the car and the other under carriage components are in acceptable shape, only the cradle is rusted through. i drove it to the local chrysler dealer and they said that this problem is known by chrysler and that i should call chrysler and report the problem. the dealer estimate for repair was $4400.00! i called chrysler directly from dealership and after some review i was told there was nothing that could be done for me!! i now have a junk vehicle with no resale possibility and i cant afford a $4400 repair nor can i allow my wife or myself to drive it without the repair being done as it is unsafe. please help me get chrysler to step up and fix the cradle as i have seen massive amounts of similar comments online about ...

The ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
2005 Chrysler Pacifica

We took our 2005 chrysler pacifica into local dealership to find source of oil leak. upon examination we are told that a motor mount is leaking and that the supporting frame is completely rusted thru and said they wont repair the motor mount without replacing the sub frame. they tell us that chrysler knows they have a issue but only will repair a very small number of the vehicles that are affected. people wonder why people don't buy american products when they wont stand behind their shoddy products. it is the last chrysler that i will purchase. if the government organizations don't do anything about it what's the sense in having them. *tr
