Recently reported FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE problems on 2006 Chrysler 300C

On several occasions, most recently 12/21/2/13 after fueling up my 2006 chrysler 300c to a full tank (not overfilling) my car runs rough and stalls immediately after pulling out into traffic or within one mile of leaving the gas station. my car will not restart for at least 30-45 seconds of cranking the engine. this is definitely a huge safety concern by pulling out into moving traffic when my car stalls. dealership is recommending a new gas tank and vapor canister which is a very costly repair ($1,500 -$2,000) and they cannot guarantee it will be resolved and there are no current recalls for this issue. *tr

After filling up with gas the car stalled when exiting the gas station in front of oncoming vehicles. we were nearly rear ended. the car again stalled at the next stop light, then again while merging onto the freeway. we had a full tune up performed on the car thinking that this was the cause, however the car continued to stall after a fill up. we are now forced to limit refueling the car to only one half tank to be sure that the extremely dangerous stalling does not occur putting our family in extremely dangerous situations. the stalling occurred again just this week after accidentally allowing the fuel pump to click off producing a full gas tank. even knowing that we were now in a dangerous situation we were forced to drive the car on public streets where once again it stalled exiting the gas station, at the stop light and shortly after trying to accelerate from the stop light leaving our family stranded in the middle of the intersection. *tr

For several weeks every time i filled my gas tank the car stalled. i would start it and it would stall again. several times i was almost rear ended getting on the freeway when my car dead stopped also at intersections. every time i stopped the car at a light after fill up car would stop. i was afraid to drive the car as i feared i would be killed or severely injured. i took the car to the chrysler dealer jan 14, 2014. they replaced the fuel tank, evap canaster and vent valve at a cost of $1740.22. i asked if this condition was under warrenty they said no. i understand the warranty has been extended on the fuel tanks as per pe 13-016. i contacted chrysler they said they did not know anything about an extended warrenty. chrysler is not honoring their obligation to repair this very dangerous condition. i want to be sure my vin# is included in this warrenty as i will seek reimbursement for this repair. *tr

I am terrified to drive my car! three times in the last 6 weeks, right after i fuel up, i leave the gas station and my car completely shuts down/off while i am driving. the lights on the dash come on, the engine stalls, i lose the ability to steer, and my car is "dead in the water". it is really frightening! it happened once when my husband was driving, and two more times when i was driving, but each time it was immediately after getting gas. luckily, these multiple stalling incidents have happened at lower speeds, but i am concerned about the car dying while i am on the freeway, as it would surely end up in a horrible accident. if other owners of a 2006 chrysler 300c hemi have had this issue, i feel that the manufacturer should resolve this issue through recalling these vehicles for repair before someone gets injured or killed. *tr

Right after pulling away from a filling station the car stalled, immediately restarted, drove out on the street and stalled again before reaching the next signal light. restarted kept slightly more pressure on accelerator, and was fortunate not to have stop or slow down in order to reach home it has did the same thing about a month later. the only way i can be sure of the incident not occurring again is to guess how many miles i have gone based on cars? approximate miles per gal since your agency has completed your inquiry ( nhtsa action number pe13016 ) and the manufacturer has agreed to extend the fuel tank warranty to " lifetime ", how do i obtain an authorization to have my vehicle repaired. i have received no information from chrysler as of this date ( 3/15/14 ). *tr

I filled up the car with gas and after driving about half a mile the engine stalled while in traffic. the car started and stalled repeatedly five or six times for about four blocks. at a certain point the problem stopped and the car was drivable. i took the car to a nearby auto shop and they found no error codes in the system. after leaving the auto shop the car continued to drive without stalling. several weeks later i filled up with gas again and the problem repeated itself after driving about half a mile. the engine stalled about five times. it was more difficult to turn the engine over this time but it eventually started and drove fine. *tr

Our chrysler 300c had begun to stall out while driving with more than 3/4 tank of gas. we began to limit the amount of gas to never fill more than 3/4 tank. this lasted for approximately 6 months. in dec, 2013 the vehicle began to stall at other times. i had between 1/4 to 1/2 in the tank when we were driving at approx 45mph when the vehicle began to stall then restart at first. then it stalled entirely several times that evening as we tried to make it home. i had my 2 daughters and 2 granddaughters with me at the time. the next morning i took the vehicle to local dlr, lee chrysler, were i purchased the vehicle. the vehicle stalled on me 3 times while i was trying to make it the 3 miles. the dealer had the car until 12-16-2013 when they advised that the proportional valve/purge vale needed replaced and that all of the updates to the system needed to be made. the total of this attempt to repair was $379.45. the car immediately began to stall again so i returned it. they kept the car for approximately two weeks with their computer hooked up to it then advised that the pcm needed replaced this repair cost a total of $1,018.61. the car was on empty so he offered to stop for gas. he filled the tank up then pulled out to 5 lanes of traffic and stalled. the vehicle would not restart for several attempts. i called the dealer and they wrecker after the vehicle. they had the car for one night and called us to pick up and run the gas out to 1/4tank. we were told it would not stall again because they had disconnected the emissions system. while i was driving the car on a very busy 7 lane hwy with my daughter and 3 month old granddaughter the car came to a dead stop in 40mph traffic. i was terrified but was able to get the vehicle to the center lane. they have now called and advised another sensor must be replaced. someone is going to get injured or killed in this car. *tr

Car stalls after fill-up. will stall even without topping off tank. this will happen when pulling out into traffic. will stall multiple times and buck while driving for a time. can not fill up tank. *tr

2006 chrysler 300c stalls after fill up. car is hard to start up after it stalls, it will stall a couple times again and than it will be ok until next fill up. can not get more than 1/2 mile gas station. lucky i was able to get out of traffic without any problem. this problem started a little over a year ago, went to dealer, they could not find a problem with my car. they recommended to clean injectors, did this, it didn't help. last 3 fill up have been the same problem. *tr

After fueling, filling up, the car will stall several times both while stopped and while moving slowly (10-15mph). if you are moving at highway speeds 45-70mph the car will cut out causing the car to jerk and then resume. it has happened 3 or 4 times since nov 2013. it happens after the care is refueled. i have owned the car since it was new and it only started this behavior recently. *tr

After filling the car a chrysler 300c stalls. this is now an ongoing problem as the car now stalls after fueling. the stall occurs mostly when stopped at a red-light or driving at a low rate of speed. it has now progressed to include when accelerating onto a interstate.the stall causes all safety systems to fail ie. breaks, steering, et. i have called the local dealership and the chrysler hotline 800-992-1997 and was informed that the national highway traffic safety administration, chrysler will extend fuel-tank warranties does not apply to 2006 chrysler 300c models. i was told the malfunctioning shut-off float and gas tank neck splash issue is not covered. *tr

Within a minute or so of refueling, the engine stalled and, consequently, the power steering and power brakes failed. the car would re-start with little difficulty only to stall again very shortly thereafter. eventually, after perhaps 10 minutes of starts/stalls, and re-starts, operation would return to normal. at the time of the first occurrence, i had no reason to believe that this problem was related to refueling. however, the problem has since recurred with every refueling (at least 4 refuelings so far), resulting in numerous engine stalls in traffic. apart from these refueling-related incidents the car runs perfectly, and my local mechanic has said that "the car's computer" indicates all systems are normal. a google search on my problem, however, suggests that the problem is extremely common in chrysler 300cs of a similar vintage. *tr

Filled up tank for the first time since purchasing my 2006 chrysler 300c. (came from the dealership with a full tank) no more than 2 minutes of driving later the car began to shudder and lurch as if it were going to die. i was able to put it in neutral and keep it running but it was running rough. continued on and pulled into a parking lot where the car died. i was able to restart it but it died shortly after. restarted it again and was able to keep it running by giving it a little throttle. i began combing the internet and discovered this to be a fairly common issue after filling up. i limped the car home and siphoned a few gallons out. it seems to be running ok since then. *tr

My 2006 chrysler 300 c would just die after filing up with gas - happened on the freeway a few times- very dangerous. the dealer could not find the problem until we saw la times article 5/14/13 - they are fixing but chrysler is not helping with $$ (replacing gas tank) car has only 42k miles. *tr

My family and i were traveling on the interstate after a complete fill up of gas from the gas station, as i was proceeding onto the ramp of the interstate my car stalled and continued to die right as i was turning onto the interstate in the right lane and had a near miss from a semi truck. my families life was in the hands of a car that i thought i trusted and lead to believe was safe in every way. little did i know that the gas tanks on these cars can not handle a upwards of 3/4 tank of gas or more. now i am scared to death to fill this cars gas tank past the half mark and have to stop frequently as i travel for my job. please help get the warranty on these gas tanks extended as i have recently found out that chrysler is no longer holding their word on fixing the tanks on these sets of cars tanks. *tr

For the past several months, every time i fill up with gas, my car dies several times before i get home, which is about 5 miles from the gas station. sometimes it will speed up without me pushing the accelerator just before it dies. it dies before i get out of the gas station, sometimes. other times it dies as i pull to a stop at the light 1,000 feet from the gas station. the most recent occurrence was 2 days ago. i've had it to the dealership service department twice for this, but they can't find anything wrong. the fill up before this last one, i only filled the tank half full, and it didn't die, so it must be something to do with filling it all the way up. i don't top the tank off, either. *tr

After filling tank, the car stalled on exit from gas station. the car stalled a few miles later after stopping and then trying to go. filling the tank with gasoline has become extremely slow since then. 20 to 30 minutes to fill the tank. most recently on 3/4/2014, the car stalled again when stopped at red light. the stalling and slow fill have been continuing since november 2013 and happening more frequently recently. the nhsta has a case number pe13016 which describes exactly my situation as a defective fuel tank valve. in that case, chrysler has agreed to extended warranty on gas tanks for 2006 chrysler c cars in the case file write up, but both the dealer and customer service do not acknowledge the existence of the case findings or the problem itself. i am hoping the nhtsa will stand behind their findings and support the completion of manufacturers solution. right now chrysler does not appear to be honoring its solution. *tr

My husband filled up the tank on 110413 (already had 1/4 tank). i drove to and from work, but once i backed into the yard the vehicle would not crank again. as i revved the engine the car would act like it would continue running after the initial start up, but as soon as i took my foot off of the accelerator the car cut off. i had to have the car towed to a chrysler dealership, but no one mentioned the issues that customers have been having with this specific vehicle (2006 300c with hemi). vehicle is currently in the shop and the mechanic mentioned it might be the engine... oh really!!!!! *tr

After fueling car, it stalls out. after restart will run and may or may not stall again. not a very good thing to happen. could become the cause of an accident. dealership says no recalls on car. *tr

After filling up with gas i went about 2-3 miles on us1 in wake forest, after stopping at the light at us1a i proceeded to turn onto us1a and my car stalled. i was in the middle of a lot of traffic and i had to manage to turn onto the side of the road and restart the car to continue to proceed. after traveling about another 1 to 2 miles it stalled again. this is the second time after filling the gas tank that this has happened and when the vehicle stalls i lose power steering which makes it very difficult to drive. *tr

Vehicle stalls after refueling aprox 0.5miles after departing fuel station. vehicle has stalled on approach to freeway and in potentially fatal situations. feel unsafe driving vehicle due to continued problems. suspect recall should be done since this seems to be a bigger problem. *tr

We had just filled the gas tank and were heading off to las vegas for a long weekend when as we drove less than a block away the car stalled. this never happened before, we restarted the car and she continued to jerk around acting like it was going to stall again. we were very close to a pep boys so we pulled in and told the clerk what was happening, he said we maybe got bad gas (maybe watered down) and to try a gas treatment. we did and it stalled again, we restarted the car and drove cautiously around town testing her reliability. she seemed fine so we drove on to vegas. she performed well for a few weeks then did it again after filling the tank so again we added gas treatment and things seemed fine. a month or so later the same thing again with the stalling after fueling. so far this has happened approximately 8 times since the first time and only after fueling. we are nervous to drive anywhere now. we have used various gas stations so not any particular brand makes this happen. it can go for several weeks without incident but we just never know when it may occur again. we looked it up online to see if anyone else was having similar problems and found that owners of chrysler 2006 300c and magnums and chargers all experienced the same thing. pe13-016 was referenced as the original investigation number into these occurrences. chrysler supposedly issued a lifetime extended warranty for this problem but only to those affected and notified them prior to jan. 2014. the rest of us are screwed. i am asking for this investigation to be reopened. chrysler needs to be fair to all owners of these vehicles with this defect. i am the original owner and have taken excellent care of my car. many people have stated that chrysler is not acknowledging their complaints since the investigation is closed. your help is needed to correct this injustice. *tr

After leaving the gas station (filling the tank) the car sputtered a few times, then as i approached a stop light it stalled out. i pulled away okay but it stalled again at the next light. after getting gas, the car is hesitant while driving and stalls out, usually lasting for 1-3 miles. *tr

Right after gassing up, my car stalled at a red light. restart, stall again while rolling (losing power steering and power brakes.) restart and drive with heavy throttle to next red light, where car stalled again. restart, go, then another stall when car behind me honks. dangerous stalling in intersection. problem remained until gas tank went down about 2 gallons from full. problem continues to date, i cannot fill the gas tank. *tr

I was on the entrance ramp to route 495s, about to enter the highway, with cars behind me, and the engine stalled. this was particularly dangerous for myself and other drivers because there was no break-down lane at the end of the entrance ramp. you go directly onto the highway. if i was on the highway when the car stalled there was nowhere for me or the cars behind me to go. they would have had to attempt to stop, too. one of the restart issues with this car is that it must be stopped and in park before you can restart the engine. it is not possible to restart the car while it is moving. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300c. the contact stated that when the fuel tank was full, the engine would stall sporadically and recurring. the vehicle would always restart and resume normally. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the dealer advised the contact that fuel was entering the system purge line and causing the fuel valve to fail. as a result, the fuel tank needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and current mileage was 41,000. *tr

Vehicle stalls, multiple times after filling up with fuel. *tr

Approximately 2 months ago, vehicle started stalling after refueling. every refuel since without fail the vehicle stalls. stalling occurs within minutes after refueling and will stall 2-3 times in a 5 minutes period. the vehicle performs correctly once you get past this stage. based on my research (internet) there have been many other 2006 chrysler products (incl town and country mini van) experiencing the same issues. it appears the separator valve at the top of the fuel tank is the culprit. *tr

On 2 occasions, 09/30/13 and 10/02/13 i filled my vehicle up with gas and within a mile of the gas station it started missing real bad and then shut off, once while merging onto interstate 95 and the other time on a less traveled road. on both occasions i was fortunate enough to pull to the shoulder and restart the vehicle. i took the vehicle to whitten bros chrysler (richmond, va) a few days later and i was told that the gas canister was contaminated and needed to be replaced along with a detector and solenoid, total cost of $516 and was told the gas tank needed to be replaced because of a defective valve in the tank. seems the valve was stuck open and allowing gas to overflow into the canister. since the valve is part of the tank and cannot be replaced a complete tank is needed at a cost of $1200 to $1500. the next week i called the service advisor at whitten brothers, [xxx] , and told her to go ahead and order the tank. she said it would take 3-5 days to be received and would call me when it was in. that night i read an article about a gas tank problem on the 2006 vehicles like mine and saw that if you did not fill the tank you should not have a problem with it shutting off. i figured for the amount of money i was going to have to spend i would go this route so i called and cancelled the order for the tank. i was told the tank order could not be cancelled but they would keep it in inventory. i have only put 600 miles on the vehicle since all this happened and have only put gas in it twice but did not fill it either time, only enough to get the gauge to about 3/4. i have to remember when i loan the vehicle to one of my sons to tell them whatever they do please do not fill the tank if they put gas in it. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

i was on the way to a doctors appt with my pregnant daughter on 264 heading towards chesapeake, va. i was doing 55 mph and the tank was on 1/8 th of a tank. as we were driving, about 15 min later, the car lurched, a ding was heard, the etc light flashed, the rpms dropped to 0, then resumed a second later causing the lurching forward. about 3 to 4 minutes and intermittently over the next 15 min later, it did the same thing, but also stalled at the stop lights on the way there. no codes came up when diagnostics were put on it. the throttle control unit was replaced and a relearn was done, this did nothing. same thing happened. i have read many other reports of this happening and no one has an exact fix for this. also, may have nothing to do with this, but about 2 weeks prior to this happening, i was filling up with gas and the tank overflowed. no problems occurred through the next 3 or 4 fill ups, the tank was on an 1/8 when the first hesitation and stalling occurred. *tr

After refueling, car stalls. this happens after driving approximately 2 to 3 minutes after leaving gas station. the stall has taken place at intersections, while at a complete stop and while driving no more than 5 -10mph after leaving the gas station.. car restarts after several attempts in neutral. when each incident occurs, the oil icon comes on, however the oil level is not low. on one occasion after having backed into a parking space with the car gear shift still in reverse and my foot on the brake, the car lurched. the tires could be heard spinning. that was very scary because my car could have rolled into a busy highway. once the fuel level indicates approximately a half a tank, no stalling incidents take place. car was taken to the dealership with this concerned. service advisor was aware of chyrsler 300c stalls after refueling. fuel injection system was serviced/cleaned. this has not resolved the problem. car still stalling. really afraid to drive the car, however i am taking it back to the dealership to let them know of the still ongoing problem. *tr

I filled up my chrysler 300 just after buying it for the first time. after fill up i pulled away from the gas station and got to the stop light and it stalled. i restarted it and it would not go into gear at first but after a minute it did. went for about hundred feet and it stalled again in front of my house. then the next morning it ran fine until i filled it up again and it did the same thing stalled right after i filled it with gas i checked with the local dealer and they said they are aware of this problem and that it is an issue with the design of the gas tank and purge valve that only can be corrected by replacement of the fuel tank. i checked online and this an issue has happened for many owners and they have been told the same thing by there dealers. it is a factory design error that only be corrected by the fuel tank replacement as well as the purge valve. the reason it stalls is that when filled up the tank and purge vale floods the throttle body with raw fuel and the car stalls this stalling can cause an accident very easy as well as effecting the emissions of the vehicle. i feel that chrysler should issue a recall for this defect which i understand has effected the dodge charger as well as the challenger. *tr

After refueling my car suddenly lost acceleration and stalled without any warning as i was leaving the gas station. i restarted the car and the same thing happened 3 more times. this particular incident has happened four times before; each time i topped off? my gas tank. i was concerned that i could be involved in an accident so i took the car to the dealership? and after several days was told that the fuel line was cracked and the gas tank needed to be replaced. after paying $1,700.00 and renting a car for 4 days, i was told that the problem will go away. we shall see. my car is well maintained with oil changes every 3,000 miles with only 55,000 miles. i also only use 89 octane fuel as recommended in the owner's manual. i contacted chrysler and was told that there is no recall on this, even though quite a number of drivers have complained about this same problem. they all complained that the car stopped after refueling and topping off the tank. i think this should be a recall. *js

5 minutes after filling up my 06 chrysler 300c srt-8 6.1l at a gas station i was crossing over traffic to make a left turn and my car died in the middle of oncoming traffic. it took several minutes to restart then lurched forward after put into gear. this is the second time right after filling my tank this has occurred. the time before it stalled merging onto interstate on ramp. *tr

After filling up with fuel, the engine stalled shortly after. this has occurred on a regular basis when filling the fuel tank using regular unleaded gas. several complaints duplicate this occurrence. *tr

Vehicle stalled at major intersection shortly after refueling and would not restart and stay running. had to be pushed out of intersection and off roadway by police. no codes appeared. numerous restarts and stalls before car was drivable. brought to mechanic who computer scanned for diagnosis. no codes. problem has now recurred 2 more times immediately after last 2 fill ups. most recent was reentering rte 23s near wayne nj after filling up. car stalled and created a serious hazard for me and passengers trying to avoid rear end collision while pulling to shoulder with no power. very busy road with 50-60 mph traffic. car would not restart and stay running - requiring 5-7 restart/stalls before it was drivable. brought to mechanic for diagnosis again. no codes on scanner. very dangerous situation. *tr

The car has been stalling out after being started. now it is almost shutting off or becoming unresponsive mid acceleration from a stop sign. the car will at random stall. the engine does not need to be restarted so far while driving. it will "die" for a few seconds and then comes back again just short of complete engine shut down. rear window on passenger side is also non responsive. it has only worked once since i have had the car. *tr

Car stalled in middle of intersection. other cars nearly struck me from rear. stalled after restart, blocking intersection. this has happened several times, nearly resulting in accidents. always occurs immediately after filling gas tank. *tr

On 8/29, i picked my car up from the dealership for a repair to the body. when i attempted to start the vehicle, it turned over but would not start. after several attempts, i went back inside and made the service manager aware. he came out and after a few tries, it started. they told me they didn't know what was wrong with it but that it seemed to be fine so i could take it. i started the vehicle with no issue and took it to a nearby gas station to fill it up. after filling it up, it would not start. the vehicle was towed back to the dealership. it was at the dealership from 8/29 to 9/26. during that time, the battery was changed, the evap canister was replaced and the gas tank was replaced. when i went to pick the vehicle up on 9/26, it would not start. after several attempts and pumping the gas while turning the ignition, the vehicle started. i am now only able to start the vehicle if the gas pedal an pumped while the key is being turned. the vehicle has also attempted to stall several times since i got it back and doesn't have the power it had when i bought it. i have also smelled gas while driving immediately after accelerating. my check engine light is now on also. the dealer has requested that i bring the vehicle back to them and i fear that it will be there another 4 weeks and return to me in the same or even worse condition! *tr

After fueling the chrysler 300c the car will crank just fine and run for a minute or so but then stalls out. this scenario continues for about 5 to 8 times before it is safe to get back on the road. it has also died while driving shortly after fueling causing the power steering to stop making it extremely difficult to steer the car off the road to safety. this is very upsetting and unsafe for my family. there seems to be no good answer for this problem. *tr

My car started stalling and choking for 2-3 minutes after filling up the gas tank. it actually turns off 2-3 times with-in a block or two of the gas station and sometimes there is a 3-10 second delay when i shift from p or n into d. this first started in august and continues to happen. i've changed gas stations and it continues to happem

I completely filled up my gas tank (not just a top off) friday afternoon. after driving a few miles, while in the turning lane and crossing traffic my car shut itself off. the steering wheel locked up and i was unable to steer to safety. i had to put the car in neutral and "coast" to the side. luckily i was turning at a turning light and there wasn't heavy traffic. this was very dangerous and scared me! i tried to start my car and was unable to do so. it wouldn't "turn over" the first time. the second time trying to start it, it didn't seem like it would start and then finally started. the only light that came on (after the car shut itself off) was the oil like. my oil is completely full. was just changed a month ago using synthetic. i had a mechanic look at it and was told that there was nothing wrong with it. *tr

After filling car with fuel and drive a few hundred feet car starts bucking and stalls. restarts and bucks and stalls a few more times then runs fine until next time we fill up. we have stopped filling car up but just putting 10 to 12 gallons when we get gas. we cannot fill the fuel tank up or take a serious chance of having car stall in traffic as we had a couple close calls. i have asked beck chrysler if there was a recall or fix for this and was told by service manger never heard of problem. i have read that many people are having same problems and only fix is to pay over a $1000.00 for a new gas tank as this is only fix. i have replaced vapor canister and vapor control valve in engine compartment with no improvement. i feel chrysler should fix this for no charge as it is part of the emission system and also worry my wife and i will be hurt or killed by this flaw in the fuel tank. i hope we can get some help to get this repaired. The current issue with this model for me is the fuel. i just had a vapor canister installed that did not solve the issue but it did get rid of a few of the problems. when i first started having problems with my car shutting down after a fill up, i thought the gas had water in it but it's not the gas. no matter what station i fill up at, i have the same symptoms. the car will drive fine for about 3 car lengths, then it will hesitate, choke, jump, try to die, jerk forward and then finally stall and shut itself off. then it will take 3 or more tries to get the car to restart and it may do the same things over again for another block or two. the bottom line is, in the first 3 blocks of driving this car after a fill up, i can expect just about anything and i know for sure it will die on me if i fill it up. if i only put in 3/4 of a tank of gas or less, i am safe but if i let the pump kick off on its own, i'm in trouble. the only thing the vapor canister did was stop it from jumping and jerking, all the other symptoms are still there.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300 c. the contact stated that after refueling the vehicle and driving 30 mph, the engine stalled without warning. the contact stated that the failure only occurred when he could completely refuel the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection where they stated that the fuel tank needed to the replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 43,000. updated 02/27/14*lj updated 02/27/14 updated 2/26/14*cn

After i purchased my 2006 chrysler 300c on july 6th, 2013, the salesman filled the car up with gas. he had the car running & before i could get in the car, it switched itself off, not once but twice. the next incident was after the first time i filled my car with gas, which was july 26th, i drove to my next stop & my car switched off while pulling into a parking place. the next time was july 29th, my husband filled the car up & the car switched off twice!!! the next time was the next day, july 30th, i was at a red light & the car switched off. i have not made the 1st payment on the car, however, i am concerned with this major safety issue!!! *tr

I drove to the gas station, and when i was driving around the corner the car stalled. i was going around 20 miles per hour. i tried turning the car back on after a few times and it just wouldn't start. after a few minutes i managed to start the car back on and i drove in a near by shopping center. as i pulled up the car stalled once again. i decided to wait about ten more minutes before starting the car again and it failed to start. i waited an additional 20 minutes and finally it started with a little hesitation. this has happened to me several times now. *tr

My 2006 chrysler 300c engine cuts out every time i completely fill my gas tank. this problem was first detected about 6 months ago. since, i have been very careful when re-fueling. sometimes i still encounter engine sputtering and eventual loss of power and steering control. i try to mitigate and control the safety risk as best as i can. i have to quickly throw the car into neutral and crank the engine to restart so i can avoid being a safety threat to others on the road. also thanks to chrysler, my wife refuses to ride in the car with me as it poses a significant safety issue at any speed on any road. i have never had this experience in a car before. this is my first brand new car i bought jan 6, 2006 at the age of 23. i regret my decision ever since. i have lost a ton of faith in chrsyler products and the brand it represents. the one thing chrysler should do, is to recall these cars and offer the fix at no cost to the owner. *tr

After refueling my 2006 chrysler 300c it would shut off at highway speed. the car would shut off at a stop light or stop sign this happens only when the car is refueled. this has caused many safety issues because of the oncoming traffic and the car stalling in the intersection. *tr

We filled up the tank, not topping off, and headed home. the car was running smoothly, hesitated and stalled. no engine warning indicators, etc. it also stalled setting at a red light and at various other speeds. this has occurred again after every fill up since. if you put in park it will start right back up. chrysler does not acknowledge or deny a problem when contacted. i was told to get a diagnostic and call them back. one service rep, at the dealership, acknowledge a couple of others having this problem the car is currently there and they are trying to recreate the problem. we keep our vehicles services, so that is not a problem. *tr
