I have a leaking fuel tank. it is described perfectly in recall: 07v349000, gm recall # 06230. when i took it to the dealer, they told me because of higher mileage, it is not covered. i then called gm and they told me the same thing. how can you sell a vehicle with a defective part, put it on recall and then not fix it? i am glad i found it before my vehicle caught on fire!

The fuel tank leaks at the fuel tank, leak at the fuel tank filler tube attachment point to the tank. there is a rubber grommet on the tank that the tube attaches to the tank where the leak is. defiantly a fire hazard. leaks when tank is more than 1/2 full. this tube is metal and the fuel tank filler tube attaches to with a rubber hose and clamp. the chevrolet dealer says the vin was exclude from nhtsa campaign id number 07v349000 (fuel system, gasoline:storage), although the failures were identical. the dealer stated have to replace the fuel tank which not covered.
