While driving i experienced 'traction control off'; 'service stabilitrac'; 'service traction control' and then the car went into 'reduced engine power. i was in traffic and had to quickly make an unsafe turn to avoid being rear-ended by the vehicle behind me. this has happened twice now.
Was bringing my children home from school and engine light and traction control light came on, reduced my speed and i couldn't keep up with traffic so quickly got off the road. looked at the dash and saw it said engine power reduced. turned off the car few seconds and i was able to drive home luckily i wasn't to far.
Tl* the contact owns a 2018 chevrolet traverse. the contact stated that while the driver was driving, the vehicle failed to accelerate and a noise was coming from the accelerator pedal when it was depressed. the driver attempted to coast to the side of the road depressing the brake pedal but the brakes seized. the driver stayed to the side until the vehicle come to a complete stop. the contact powered off the engine. the vehicle was restarted and was able to drive as normal. the vehicle was later taken to gandrud chevrolet dealer, (919 auto plaza dr, green bay wi 54302, (920) 309-5444) where the vehicle was repaired but the repairs were unknown. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to nhtsa. the failure mileage was approximately 32,000.
On jan 4 2020 i was dry on the expressway doing 70 mph and all of sudden my car made a ding noise and my traction control light came on saying it was off then it said it was powering down and then the stabilitrak light came on i almost had an accident because of nowhere that happened i read that gmc had alot of problems qith the same situation. i was very scared and very emotional and i had to have my car towed this is a really bad safety problem and i read that tthat im not the only one this happened too
2014 traverse will suddenly shut down and not move. flashes service stabilitrac, traction control off, reduced engine power. my vehicle has shut down multiple times including driving on the freeway with my two children in the car. after turning the car off and finally being able to turn it back on again, i am able to get the traction control to say on and to move my car. this last time the steering wheel locked up and my car wouldn't start for almost 10 minutes, with me and my children sitting in the middle of an intersection.
My vehicle will first stall and slow down with 'engine power reduced' and something about the traction control and stability track going across the dash right before my vehicle stops on me. this happens frequently at any moment and now i am unable to start it back up. i was told by pep boys that it is an electrical problem, with codes reading a shortage in the fuse box. i checked the web for any recalls and saw that others were having the same issues, yet no recalls. this is dangerous because my vehicle stops at any moment in the middle of a drive, even on the highway. now i am without reliable transportation in my 2014 traverse. i love my vehicle, but gm needs to fix this issue.
After some major maintenance work summer of 2018, car began to show more work needed. summer of 2019 while driving on flat city road, power steering became difficult to turn & control curves and, check engine light came on. parked the car until able to repair. mechanic repaired power steering module car seemed ok. after about 2-3 weeks, check engine light & power steering problems again , now engine power reduced while driving w/stabilitrak warning & back up cam sometimes works. whle driving , hard to turn on curves, corners and at appropriate posted speeds bc engine slows on its own and wont give enough power for flats or hills. heating takes much longer to warm cabin and window button sometimes wont work.
2018 chevy traverse when decelerating around speeds under 35mph city driving the vehicle will randomly rev up and the rpm will go up to 4000 or 5000 rpm, this also happens while braking. sometimes the car will jerk forward as if it was going to accelerate and other times it just stays at a high rpm for 5 seconds or less until i either come to a complete stop or try to accelerate and it does not respond. the engine sounds like it is in neutral and the accelerator is being held down. it also does not respond to the gas pedal when it is reving like this, and if i try to accelerate the car will eventually kick into gear and lunge forward. took it to the dealer withing the first few months of owning it and they could not replicate the issue and said the computer did not return any issue. this problem comes and goes since i bought the car brand new in 2018 and concerns me, because it feels as if the car is accelerating on its own and may cause me to crash.
The biggest issue is intermittently going into "low engine" mode, warning blinks for only a second then the car will not go more than 10 miles an hour. this is quite dangerous to me, my family, and other drivers- imagine this happening on the freeway? does this issue need to result in a death before it is looked into by the company? the car will not shift out of gears- happens intermittently with no warning signs whatsoever. the issue happens when i go above 40 mph, the the rpms goes to 9+off the charts and i cannot go into the next gear. since it happens only randomly mechanics have a hard time finding issue since it does not always do this for them. our last visit suggested to replace the transmission, but at a price that is more than the value of the car, that is hard to stomach. lots of complaints of this issue and considering the 2009 recall, my two cents is the 2010 model most obviously has similar manufacturing issues and a deeper investigation needs to take place. other issues, car lurches/jerks when put into drive from park. please back your ...
We have 2 issues. 1st was in july 2019, our power steering pump went out with on 60,000 miles on the vehicle and we were told this is a common problem with the traverses. 2nd concern is in september 2019 our vehicle lost acceleration capabilities on the highway and the display said have stability control serviced. we had trouble making it home and after i turned the engine off for a few hours it then ran fine. it was like a computer glitch on the highway which occurred for no apparent reason and was very unsafe. we were driving straight 50 mph on a clear nice afternoon and slowed to 25 when it happened and it wouldn't accelerate properly.
