Was bringing my children home from school and engine light and traction control light came on, reduced my speed and i couldn't keep up with traffic so quickly got off the road. looked at the dash and saw it said engine power reduced. turned off the car few seconds and i was able to drive home luckily i wasn't to far.

At approximately 45 mph on a straight 2 lane road the service stabilitrak message came on, engine power was greatly reduced, smoke from exhaust and gas smell appeared and traction control turned off. could be extremely dangerous on a major highway or in rainy conditions.

While driving at normal traffic and highway speeds, the vehicle will sometimes reduce speeds on its own and the transmission will drop to 2nd gear. the sevice engine light will flash and the dash will read traction control off. sometimes the engine will also misfire. the vehicle will sometimes correct itself and return to normal driving or it has to be turned off to reset. some forum users suggest replacing the throttle due to carbon buildup. this is can cause confusion with a driver which may result in a collision.

I was driving at about 50mph the check traction control lights came on the check stabilitrack came on then it said traction control on then off my vehicle lost power and i couldnt steer. luckily no cars were coming on the dark winding road i was on as i was stuck no lights or anything.

Receiving 'service stabilitrak' 'service traction control' 'traction control off' messages

My husband and i went to the store with our two kids just to grab some groceries. we live less than 5 miles from the grocery store. on our way home the car started shaking while idling and acted like it was going to stall out on us. we were in the middle of the intersection when the car decided to start sputtering, shaking violently and then shut off. thankfully enough we were able to pull into a parking lot to try and figure out what happened. after multiple attempts the car finally started back up. we were not able to go above 20 mph. we found out that the fuel pump went out so we spent the $300 to replace that. once that was replaced we thought we were in the clear. about two days later the same thing happened again except i was on the expressway doing about 70-80 mph. same thing, was able to start it up again after multiple attempts, couldn't go above 40 mph this time. about two months ago we started having p0017, p0018, p0019 trouble codes pop up. we tried to replace the sensors and they were still popping up. we cleared them, ...

The service stabilitrak warning comes across the dash and the powers motor down to half power. this has happened three times now the first time i was on the highway going 70 and was lucky to avoid an accident with my children in the vehicle. had the motor replaced because the mechanic sau it was something with the timing. now it is happening again, this time i was in town luckily on a street that wasnt too busy. this is not only becoming costly to repair but extremely unsafe when it powers down to half power and you can not get above 20mph. this is supposed to be a family vehicle there are children riding in these cars.

I will be driving down the road, either on highway or city street and all of a sudden a warning light comes on that says service stabilitrak/reduce engine power/traction control. the next day it will run fine.

I just purchased this vehicle 2 weeks ago from taylor chevrolet. it has already been in the dealership twice for some sensor issues that they knew about when it was sold to me and said they were going to fix when "a part came in" they never called so i had to contact them when the truck started having issues. this is where i have the biggest problem i almost lost my life today when a semi almost hit me while driving because the stabilitrak system completely went out which apparently is an issue on these trucks that is not being addressed. the control panel is displaying service stabilitrak and engine losing power. i lost a day of work so far and need my vehicle to maintain my bills and keep my job. this all happened one day after getting my truck back from being serviced

Flashing engine light, stabilitrack light, traction control light, all of the different codes flashing, then air conditioner blows hot, vehicle won't go forward, it just stops right there, and there is nothing you can do. it generally happens when you're driving on city streets stopping or starting.

Without any warning got the following messages: traction control off, service stability trak, service traction control, engine power is reduced. then the check engine light went on and i was told it was the camshaft correlation. i've looked on line and have noticed many traverse owners are having this problem where the car slows down to a halt in the middle of the road or refuses to go faster than 25 miles per hour. we purchased this vehicle as a certified pre-owned 4 years ago and it does'nt even have 100,000 miles on it. i was on the road when the messages came on and i had to quickly pull in to a gas station because i was driving on a 55 mile an hour road and the car quickly slowed down to around 25mph.

While driving on the highway at 55mph my vehicle seemed to suddenly drive rough and i thought i was going to lose control or a blown tire or something. i lost power and my vehicle began to slow down on its own. things began to light up on my dash about the stabilitrak system needing servicing. this was terrifying since cars were flying by me and i was in the middle lane. this has happened more than once even on local roads at slower speeds such as 30mph. why is there no recall for this? there are so many complaints and families are in these vehicles including mine. i am also getting a check engine code for timing. my vehicle is just at 70k miles and i use it as a daily driver to/from work and primarily just in my town. furthest i drive is 20 minutes down the highway to a relative and back. please fix this with a recall! it is extremely unsafe! the recall shouldn't be issued once there is a tragic death, it should be issued before!! i've already had to deal with my wipe blades coming off ...

The truck loose power and light traction control need services soon and engine luck of power is to go over 20 miles

I was driving my traverse on an on ramp to the highway when the check engine light came on. the dash said service stabilitrac, engine power reduced... just as i was about to merge into traffic. i lost acceleration and had to take the shoulder of the highway to avoid getting run over by a semi that was at highway speed! i can't believe there isn't a recall or something for this extremely dangerous issue!!

This has happened twice once with our kids in the car on the way home from the airport and once to my wife on her way home from work. both on the freeway at 65+ mph. driving fine then all of a sudden violent shaking, and loss of power. cannot steer at 65 mph that is literally deadly. service stabilitrak light comes on, traction control off light comes on, and reduced engine power light comes on. extremely dangerous and had a 6,4,and 2 year old in the vehicle. the fact that this hasn't been addressed as a recall is absolutely absurd. i went through 16 pages of complaints on a chevrolet forum about this issue. how many does it take before the problem is addressed? does someone need to die? from what i understand it may not be worth taking into a mechanic as they have not been able to nail down the issue and i don't have thousands of dollars to pour into a problem that doesnt have a sure cure. abaolutely ridiculous to be doing freeway speeds and then not be able to steer. do something about this.
