Recently reported STEERING problems on 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe

While traveling southbound on a four lane highway at approximately 65-70mph (posted speed limit of 65) my 2016 chevrolet tahoe seemed to have no steering, similar to how a steering wheel feels when vehicle is off, as the vehicle was traveling over a knoll with a slight curve to the left. the accelerator was pressed to check to see if vehicle was in fact still running, which it was, but the steering wheel would not move. the brakes were applied at which time the tahoe darted left into the other lane where another vehicle was traveling, causing that vehicle to hit the tahoe in the drivers side back door. the tahoe then continued broadside until it broke free of impact with the other vehicle, and turned backward into the median. the tahoe travelled backwards thru the median for approximately 80ft at which time the accelerator was pressed to the floor in an attempt to keep the tahoe out of northbound traffic. the tahoe came out of the median broadside, back into the left lane & stopped. the steering wheel never moved during this accident. the state trooper suggested that the front wheels were locked the entire time based on the black marks in the road. also, even with a direct side impact by the other vehicle, the side airbags did not deploy.

Occasional loss of power steering was experienced earlier in week which resulted in a near accident with oncoming vehicles while wife was driving to work. the sudden loss of power near on upcoming school area and intersection resulted in the car staying on a straight path during a turn around 20-25 mph until my wife could luckily muscling through the steering to straighten vehicle. the vehicle was brought to dealer and diagnosed with failing or failed power steering rack but a part was not in stock. the 2016 ltz tahoe has now lost complete power steering abilities as we wait for dealer to obtain oem replacement part.

I was driving a 2016 chevy tahoe on a residential street. my car lost all control of steering and brakes. while driving the car veered to the right and hit a car, continued on hitting 2 more parked cars, drove thru someone's large hedges, and was seconds away from driving into someone's house but was stopped when i hit the 2 parked cars in the driveway. my airbag also did not deploy. two cars involved were totaled. again, i had no control over the steering or the brakes. thank god i'm alive and i didn't kill anyone.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 chevrolet tahoe. while driving 70 mph, the suspension was unstable and the steering wheel made a clicking noise when turning left to right. in addition, there was an abnormal noise that had progressed within months of owning the vehicle while driving at a high rate of speed. the dealer (chevrolet of wesley chapel, 26922 wesley chapel blvd, wesley chapel, fl 33544, (813) 435-3981) provided a road test, but was unable to duplicate the failures. in addition, the back up camera displayed "service the rear back up camera", but the dealer could not provide a remedy. the dealer serviced the vehicle, but had not documented any invoice to specify the diagnosis of both failures. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was waiting for a permanent remedy to repair the vehicle. the approximate failure mileage was 33,000.

Tahoe has been in the shop 9 times in one year, "service 4wd", "slow to 3mph to shift to 4wd low" and "service stabilink". vehicle has tried to pull to the right while driving at highway speed, almost causing loss of control. gmc has replace several shorts in electrical system ( while never finding cause).

I purchased a 2016 chevrolet tahoe last year from walker chevrolet. the vehicle has 16,000 miles. issues i have with the vehicle. current dealership is jim ellis chevrolet. 1. transmission jerks when shifting. 2. transmission will shift into first gear when hill assist is activated. 3. navigation goes blank. 4. volume button quits working and volume turns all the way up. 5. tahoe squeaks from v8 to v4. 6. loud metal popping noise when taking sharp left turns. 7. navigation assistant will not mute. 8. navigation will not shut off when the car is off and doors are locked. 9. suspension makes awful noises when going over speed bumps and flexing. 10. tahoe has a very rough idle in first gear. my primary concern is the safety of the vehicle. my wife almost wrecked the tahoe after the volume would not turn down from being stuck at the highest volume level. a tractor trailer almost rear-ended us after the hill assist activated and the gear went into to first. i went to jim ellis and told them specifically about these problems and i was told there was nothing wrong with the transmission because they can't reproduce the issue. i do not want my family's life in danger just because the issue cannot be reproduced with the transmission. i was also told the suspension and steering was fixed, but i immediately noticed the issue pulling out of the dealership.this is another safety concern. i was told the navigation was fixed, but the navigation and volume problems are happening more often the longer i drive the vehicle. yet another safety concern. i called gm customer support and contacted the dealership.

Cpcs:i began to notice a static sound coming from the radio which became very irritating over a period of time. i took the vehicle to get checked out and the service department could not hear the noise. *bf the consumer also stated there was a vibration in the steering. the steering also experienced pulling when the vehicle reaches about 50 mph. the consumer was advised these are characteristics of the vehicle. and there was no solution for them. updated 05/10/2017*js

Vehicle shakes and vibrates at speeds above70mph. at speeds of 80mph the shake is very pronounced and the vehicle stability is affected. vehicle has been doing this since day one. dealership has tried replacing tires multiple times but nothing has worked. difficult and dangerous to drive the vehicle between 70-80 mph

Left front vibration, shake at all speeds when pulling a trailer. can be reproduced by placing two 60# sand bags in rear cargo area

When driving, driver and passengers get severe headaches, dizziness, and disorientation. the car also vibrates quite a bit. the pressure inside the cabin can be felt upon turning on the vehicle, and opening the windows does not help. the sensation almost feels magnetic. the original tires failed a road balance test and were replaced. this did not help the issue.
