Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe

Since purchasing my vehicle in 2016 i have had multiple issues. i have always noticed a drip of oil in my garage that wasn't consistent and when telling my dealership about it they stated they would look into it and found nothing. i was driving down the road and the side door black fascia flew off, the dealership replaced 3 stating it was still under the 34k warranty. i had requested they replace/secure the 4th and was told it was fine and didn't need replacing. i returned for an oil change about 6 months later and reported the one that was not replaced is now loose and was told by the dealership i was out of my warranty period and would be charged an hour labor as well as parts, costing roughly $120.00. i then had my ac go out in summer of 2019 and had that replaced supposedly a recall. when i took my car to the dealership for an oil change in fall 2019 i mentioned my car was not stopping properly while braking and they informed me there was a current recall that would fix the issue and that was performed. i was still noticing the braking issues. in nov.2019 i started to experience misfiring with the transmission and not shifting correctly. i made an appointment with the dealership and on the way to the dealership it worsened and i had to get it towed. i was informed i would not get a loaner car as all of theirs were out to people with parts required without an eta from gm. i was called 4 days later as i had not heard back and was told my car needed a replacement transmission as well as a new vacuum pump as this had failed and is the reason for the hard braking. the transmission was replaced and i was told to pick up my vehicle because the vacuum pump is on back-order without an eta and "i still have my abs that will assist with stopping".

My truck was in 2 wheel drive(wd) and automatically engaged itself into 4wd on its own., i immediately received a notice on my dash consul, 4wd service alert on my 2015 chevy tahoe ltz. i was on the highway doing the speed limit 70 mph when my truck automatically engaged itself into 4 wheel high almost causing me to loose control on my vehicle. if i were on snow or wet roads i surely would have lost control of my vehicle at a high rate of speed. i immediately took it to brodheadsville chevy for repairs on 26, december 2019. the dealership put my truck on the computer and determined that it had a code c0398 for range position correction. the repair for this was a new calibration (basically update the current software) to the new version which was (version 9.2). (see attached dealership paperwork which details the repair.) i feel this software glitch is by no way my fault nor my responsibility to pay for this software failure. there was not any part found faulty or replaced. computers were not damaged nor harmed in any manner to create this issue. this was a software glitch or error. the dealership had no explanation as to why or how this happened. i as a user of chevrolet's product have no control of how chevy codes there software to make sure that it performs correctly. if there is a coding defect in there software there is absolutely no way that i can repair it with out going to the dealership and having them fix it. i would like to see a recall on this unsafe issue potentially causing lose of life.

My 2015 tahoe began hesitating when i pressed the gas pedal leading me to believe i had purchased some bad gasoline. this continued for two weeks without any warning lights coming on. i decided to take the vehicle to be checked by an automotive place and as i was driving a warning light finally came on. they hooked it to computer and referred me to a transmission specialist located three miles away. the car broke down in a construction zone on the way to the transmission shop. my 2015 tahoe only had 107,000 miles on it and the transmission had to be replaced. the transmission shop stated that they had seen about four other tahoes of the same year that had to have transmissions replaced. it ended up costing me $3300.00 to replace the transmission. i think had a warning light been activated two weeks before i may could have taken it to the shop earlier and had it repaired instead of replaced. this seems to me way too soon to have to replace a transmission in an automobile.

Brakes randomly started not working. a lot of resistance, unable to stop, unable to push brake to floor. finally got somewhere and parked after avoiding three accidents, vehicle had to be towed. brake booster is bad. this seems to be a common problem with the 2015 tahoe. why hasn't this been a recall????

Vacuum pump failed on freeway at low speed. chevrolet has acknowledged there is a problem but only offers replacement for under 70,000 miles. i am at 80,000 miles and had to pay $800 on my vacation trip.

2015 chevrolet tahoe was parked on moderately sloped driveway. engine was not running. vehicle transmission shifter was in "park" position. vehicle spontaneously rolled back several feet, and crashed into another parked vehicle. other vehicle also owned by me. substantial damage to both vehicles. not influenced by driver. after some research it is my belief the apparent problem with the transmission/software. i did find where there was a recall #14192 for this issue.

After coming to a stop or slowing down and accelerating again, the vehicle can't catch its gear and basically goes into neutral. the rpms rev way up, you can push the pedal to the floor and it still won't go until it finally finds a gear. we've owned this vehicle 2 weeks and it has happened multiple times every time we drive it. we nearly got rear ended on the interstate after trying to accelerate after slowing down for traffic. it happens on the highway, in the city, and on the interstate.

At slow speeds car dies shutting off all electric power and locking us in the car. steering wheel jerks and car dies. backed out into highway at night two nights ago and car died in middle of road with no lights. there was enough of a hill to let the car roll off of highway or my family could have died. car has around 60k miles on it. have read other issues similar to this. no evidence on computer when we take it to dealer. we have had this issue happen at least five separate occasions. the last one was the worst and most dangerous.

My 2015 chevy tahoe a/c is not working. the condenser part is on back order for 6 months or more from the gm factory plant. meanwhile, i can't drive the car because i have breathing problems. gm told me all there tahoes have this problem and they do not have the part available yet.

Tahoe 2015 ls transmission is slipping into neutral during acceleration from a stop sign/light after cycling through 1st and 2nd gear. suv will slow down in traffic. it also auto shift into park like condition at traffic light and would not move forward. i had to place the shift lever into park and then back to drive to get the transmission to engage. it also kick hard when engaged. the suv only has 5089 miles on it. i bought this suv new from reliable chevrolet in richardson, tx. today the problem got worse. it now would not engage when i put it into reverse. i had to push the gas peddle more to increase the rpm to get the transmission to kick in. it then kick hard into reverse. i brought this suv to my dealership to get it fix. they said they found nothing and return this suv back to me. i have another major stop and no go transmission issue again today feb 8, 2016. this time i have my teenage son with me and this really upset me. someone could have hit me from behind since the road was a downhill run with a stop light. i am bringing it back to my reliable chevrolet dealer in richardson, tx tomorrow feb 9, 2016 and demand then to fix it. i am now afraid to drive my new truck. if the electronics of the transmission tells the mechanical parts to go into park position while cruising down the street, this will be a very bad outcome. please tell mary barra to keep her promise no more crap car. this problem is going to hurt someone.

Car was vibrating when getting above 45 miles per hour. thought wheels needed to be balanced. once balanced, pulled trailer and vibration was extremely worse. vibrating like we had the back window rolled down, but all windows were up. went back to dealer in newnan georgia and they hooked up a trailer to another vehicle and it had the same problem. we were told they could not do anything about it. we then bought new tires thinking it would help the issue. we have since bought two sets of tires, constantly having the vehicle tires rotated and balanced trying to minimize the vibration. we are currently up to 53k on the vehicle and very disappointed in the vehicle with the luxury price we paid. this all happened upon purchase.

Last night vehicle start jerking and when accelerating it would hesitate then take of and there was a sound in the transmission. the next morning which is today when i went to drive there was a error message that said 4 wheel drive. when i went to take of the vehicle would go in and out of 4 wheel drive by itself. this continued all day and feel the vehicle is not safe because when it erratically goes into 4 wheel drive at normal speed the steering was compromised. i will take it to dealer monday..

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 chevrolet tahoe. while driving approximately 47 mph, the steering wheel vibrated without warning. the contact mentioned that the failure only occurred when driving less than 55 mph. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the bearing, gear kit, gasket and seal needed to be replaced and the drive shaft needed to be re-balanced. the vehicle was repaired. the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken to another dealer where it was diagnosed that the rack and pinion, bearing, gear kit, seal and gasket needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the failure recurred. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 21,084.

The new 2015 tahoes have a push button ignition. i pushed off the ignition with the car in drive (forgot to put in park), exited the vehicle and realized the car was rolling down the hill. i quickly jumped in and applied the brakes to stop the car. i was surprised that even though the car is in drive when the car's ignition is turned off, the transmission disengages and the car is in neutral! this is a big hazard. there should either be a fail safe and not allow the car to turn off in drive or automatically place the car in park when the ignition switch is pressed. (this is what happens on a recent model mercedes.) *tr

4th and most dangerous of 4 incidents in 3 weeks of ownership of 2015 chevy tahoe lt. without driver instruction or interference the 2015 tahoe shifted itself into 4wd despite dial on 2wd. steering difficult, car jerked, engine revved differently and trouble in reverse. no warning signals on display and i didn't know what was happening. drove .5 mi., pulled over restarted, and then "4 wheel drive, dismiss" on display over steering wheel (no seat vibration, flashing lights as with lane drifting). tried to "undismiss", consulted manual and ensured dial was in 2wd. cut ignition off, restarted, same light. test drove another 1 mi. to see if warning display malfunction...car jerked and steering as if non-power steering. called dealership (rick hendrick's city chevrolet, charlotte, nc) and svs tech had never heard of such an issue and consulted other techs (on hold 15 min). finally svs mgr said car unsafe to drive but to drive it home 'slowly" and they would tow to dealership and get me a loaner. svs mgr, on 3rd phone call after i threatened to notify ntsb, said he was calling a gm "program mgr" to see about my car's "dangerous issue". after the car rolled when ignition turned off (radio and dash lights off too) and it hit a dumpster b/c we had not put it in park, yet ignition still turned off (luckily no one hurt but significant paint damage), key fob wouldn't program seats/mirrors, mylink wouldn't pair to my phone and now to learn there is a recall for rolling b/c car shifts into neutral? i am still driving loaner, no word from svs mgr, i refuse to drive the car again and gsm said i'd have to go to gm direct for a "buy back". the 1-800-222-1020# he gave me useless). help! *tr
