Low mileage vehicle, stored in a garage at work and at home. dashboard cracked at passenger side airbag. serious safety issue as plastic parts from broken dashboard can become deadly missiles during airbag deployment and potentially harm or cause death to passenger (my child). spent nearly $600 for a dashboard assembly that should have never required replacing.
Crack in dash adjacent to the passenger airbag. concern dash would shatter if air bag deploys.
The dashboard has cracked in my 2013 chevrolet tahoe putting the passenger at risk during an accident. since the crack runs down to the airbag it could possible shatter the plastic and damage passengers. i have found this to be a very common issue and that injuries have occurred due to this unsafe dash. this needs to be a safety recall for the safety of the drivers and passengers.
Cracking in the dashboard that has carried into the airbag section of the dash that prevented deployment in an accident on both passenger and driver sides of dash
Dash has cracked over the last year around the airbag and concern is that pieces could become shrapnel in case of a deployment.
Dash cracked front passenger side, above and into left side of airbag compartment. vehicle has been garaged or shade in window, was stationary & unoccupied when the dash cracked.
Takata recall. while my tahoe was in a repair shop to have the new air bag control module reprogrammed, the side curtain air bags deployed. . in addition, i noticed the deployed side air bags do not cover the front driver's or passenger side windows. therefore, it appears to be only a partial deployment or a defective design that in addition to accidental deployment, they do not protect people in the front seats.
I bought a replacement radiator core support manufactured in china. it has a defect that requires the front air bag sensors be installed facing the opposite direction from the normal orientation (rearward rather than forward). however, i suspect that may affect air bag sensor function and possibly air bag deployment during an accident. online chats with the sensor manufacturer result in evasive answers due to potential liability. therefore, i believe the chinese manufactured radiator core supports should be recalled. *js
This vehicle has 55,680 miles and the upper left corner next to the passenger side air bag is cracked. because of this dash crack, the air bag cover is lifted. chevy won't do anything about it because it's out of warranty. well, this is a major safety issue not to mention there have been thousands of complaint of 2007-2013 chevy dashed cracking.
Cracked dashboard bought my 2013 chevy tahoe ltz. has only 98000 miles on it. just noticed a crack at the top left corner of the dashboard, right at the edge of the passenger airbag. two weeks later, another cracked appeared on the driver side, from the bottom edge of the dashboard and continued up and over the instrument cluster hump. both cracks appeared while stationary. this vehicle is primarily garaged and has a windshield cover. very disappointed, since the new retail of this vehicle is close $50,000 brand new and costs over $1000 to replace at the dealer. not to mention, this is our primary family vehicle, which my wife, 7 yo, 4 yo and 6 month old ride in on a daily basis.
Dashboard on the driver side is cracking and extending upwards towards the driver. consistently rattles when vehicle is in motion. crack is also visible on the passenger side leading towards the airbag. both cracks were noticed when vehicle was in motion.
I own a 2013 chevrolet tahoe lt. i take good care of my vehicle. last week, i noticed multiple cracks in my dashboard in the immediate vicinity of my passenger side airbag; they seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. there was no incident beforehand that could have caused the damage. my vehicle was stationary from the last time i had used it, to the next time i entered my vehicle and noticed the dashboard cracks. i took my vehicle to preston chevrolet, a nearby gm dealership, and i was advised by the service dept. manager that this type of issue is not a common occurrence, although he had seen it in the past.. he further advised that he was unable to obtain or provide any sort of financial assistance to me in having the defective, damaged dashboard repaired. after researching, i found that it is quite a common problem, and what's more, that chevy tahoe's are the 'common denominator.' i feel that i have been mislead by preston chevrolet. i've since contacted gm and i am awaiting a response from a "senior case advisor." i am primarily concerned about my safety and the safety of my passengers. in the event of a motor vehicle collision, i am certain that shards of plastic would be hurtled into the air, becoming dangerous projectiles that could cause serious bodily injury or harm, not to mention the poor aesthetic appearance and overall devaluation of my vehicle that the fractures have caused. this is clearly a manufacturers defect. i feel i am owed repair and/or restitution from gm as a result.
I have a 2013 chevy tahoe z71 with approximately 45,000 miles. there are a total of three cracks in my dashboard one on the drivers side above the instrument panel and the other two are on the passenger side right above the passenger airbag. i was told by gm that i would have to repair the dash myself and pay out of pocket.

I noticed a small crack in my dash above the airbag on the passenger side over a year ago. it has now grown to several cracks above both the passenger and driver airbag. i take great care of my vehicle, even purchased the extended bumper to bumper warranty. if i was in an accident, the cracks in the dash and the poor quality of the dash could prevent the airbags from deploying correctly.

This is a series of crack on the front dashboard. started from the cowling over instrument panels and has spread to a section by the passenger airbag. there have been a number of gm vehicles with this same dashboard cracking but gm does nothing about it. i'm only a little over 50k miles.
The inside door panel on the drivers side broke where handle is. very very disgusted at all the problems i have had with my vehicle while it was new

Cracked dash dash is cracked in the area of the passenger side airbag. this poses a safety concern in the event of an airbag deployment as fragments of broken dash would become projectiles within the cab of the vehicle
Cracking of dash
On my 2013 tahoe a crack suddenly appeared on my dash by the passages airbag. i am a true and faithful user of a windshield shade and dash conditioner that prevents cracks in dash. this crack appeared 6 months after the purchase it and have tried several times to get chevrolet to do something about it with no luck. now the dash is caving in which is going to affect my passenger airbag. i don't want to wait until someone is with me and it cause harm to my passenger. i shouldn't have to pay for a new dash that has had thousands of complaints dealing with dash crack problems in this kind of vehicle.
The dashboard has cracked next to the passenger side airbag decreasing structural integrity of the dash and increasing the risk of plastic shards being ejected at the passenger during airbag deployment. this is a well documented defect affecting multiple models and years that share the same dashboard design. the manufacturer is aware of the issue and refuses to voluntarily address the problem.

This vehicle was purchased from mac haik chevrolet in houston, tx. only one key was provided during the vehicle purchase. the other key was promised in an "we owe you" statement, but never received. at some point in time, it is believed the 2nd key was used to access this vehicle at undisclosed location(s) and or time(s) in addition to onstar app access. the vehicle began to make rubbing sounds when turning corners and losing a little power. in july 2014, i noticed my vehicle seemed to shake when going over speed bumps in a manner inconsistent with the way it normally went over speed bumps most times after vehicle delivery. in addition to, the engine seemed to be idling too high at no speed and in a manner inconsistent with the way it performed most times after vehicle delivery. also, the dashboard is cracked around the airbag. in august 2014, i went back to the dealer for inspection of these problems. i was informed repairs were made to the front differential of the vehicle and the transmission was overfilled. i was provided a statement of the work, but i felt the verbal explanation for the work was too vague being my vehicle was in the shop for approx. 2 weeks. on or about october 1, 2015 i contacted the general motors chevrolet customer representative at the phone number listed on www.gm.com as (800) 222-1020. in this phone conversation, i was informed repairs were not done to the front differential, but to the rear differential and or powertrain. no warranty repair information was on file for any such repairs to the front powertrain. i contacted upper management with the dealership and there was no assistance provided to me in proactively resolving this discrepancy. i believe this vehicle may be hazardous based on the discrepancy of repairs and supplemental death insurance for me being attached to this vehicles vin without my knowledge.
My dash board cracked in the two places my air bags are located. it just cracked for no reason on both passenger and driver sides
My door handle fell off on driver side twice and my other three have been replaced as well. very cheaply made. very disappointed i did not get what i paid for that's for sure. this has been the worst vehicle i have ever owned and the most expensive at 48,000!
