I just noticed that the dashboard in my 2013 chevrolet tahoe ltz is cracking!!
The dash on the drivers side of my 2013 tahoe has cracked. the vehicle has 74,000 miles on it. the vehicle is garaged when not in use. i became aware of this issue on november 20, 2019. there are two cracks that almost intersect in a "v" shape.
Passenger dashboard where airbag is located has a crack. called the chevy dealership and was told it's not covered by extended warranty.

Low mileage vehicle, stored in a garage at work and at home. dashboard cracked at passenger side airbag. serious safety issue as plastic parts from broken dashboard can become deadly missiles during airbag deployment and potentially harm or cause death to passenger (my child). spent nearly $600 for a dashboard assembly that should have never required replacing.
Cracked dash cracked for no reason
I was driving home on the highway when i heard a loud pop. i thought a rock had hit my windshield. when i arrived home i saw some white material which looked like cotton on the dash. after further inspection i realized that the "pop"was my dashboard cracking. my car is garaged accept when i am at work, which when there are sun protectors on my dashboard during the warm months. my tahoe only has 76,000 miles on it.
The dashboard has cracked in my 2013 chevrolet tahoe putting the passenger at risk during an accident. since the crack runs down to the airbag it could possible shatter the plastic and damage passengers. i have found this to be a very common issue and that injuries have occurred due to this unsafe dash. this needs to be a safety recall for the safety of the drivers and passengers.

My traction and stabilitrak system will have random alerts that will go on and off for no reason. my dash has also cracked by front passenger airbag and my front driver's side and now makes cracking noises at times and now rattles when driving.
I own a 2013 chevy tahoe and out of no where the dash board cracked around the passenger air bag. within a day the crack made the dashboard drop and now has spread within a week to above the steering column. as this relates to the airbag, i consider it a safety hazard and a defect. i can provide photos if appropriate.
The dashboard of the vehicle has severe cracks around the passenger side airbag as well as the driver side steering wheel. the vehicle has been well maintained and never been in a wreck. i am very concerned that the plastic may become projectiles in the event of an accident. the dealership refuses to acknowledge fault or cover repairs.
Dash is cracked next to the steering cowling and next to the airbag. this is a problem for all gm trucks and suvs from 2007 thru 2014. this may compromise the airbag from deploying and injuring the driver with shredded pieces of plastic dashboard. gm refused to pay to replace defective dashboard.

Dash has cracked over the last year around the airbag and concern is that pieces could become shrapnel in case of a deployment.
Concern of brittle plastic dash pieces causing further injury in a crash or airbag deployment. seem to be a problem with gm dashboards between 2007-2013. this a a well maintained vehicle garage kept and regularly detailed with uv protectant. the dash should not be this brittle.
Multiple dashboard cracks
My dash has two cracks: one near the left corner of the passenger air bag and one on the right mid point of the curve over the control section of the dash. i have see where this is a design problem and many people have the same cracks. i noticed the first crack may 5, 2018 and the second crack may 25, 2018. i noticed them when my vehicle was parked. i am very concerned about how unsafe this is with the passenger airbag and possible flying debris in the event of an accident. my car is still under warranty.
My dash has cracked above the passenger side airbag and in front of the drivers side below the instrument panel cover. it also vibrates in the middle of the dash up & down when the vehicle is running sitting still or while driving down the road.
The dash has cracked on the passenger side. the crack starts on the left side of passenger air bag and continues upward. started small and seemed to get larger overnight. vehicle is garage kept. no reason for this. scares me if airbag deploys will plastic explode into someone. from what i have read , this seems to be quite a problem with these dashes.

Dashboard- crumbling apart. two cracks, one on the passenger side and a 9 inch crack on the drivers side. this car has been very well taken care of. garage parked with 26,000 miles. very cheap material used in a $65,000 dollar car. this has never happened to me before in any other car i have owned.
This vehicle has 55,680 miles and the upper left corner next to the passenger side air bag is cracked. because of this dash crack, the air bag cover is lifted. chevy won't do anything about it because it's out of warranty. well, this is a major safety issue not to mention there have been thousands of complaint of 2007-2013 chevy dashed cracking.
My dashbord cracked as i was sitting in it programming my bluetooth to my phone. my tahoe is alway garaged kept and it only has 26,000 miles. in no way has it been exposed to extrame heat or sunlight. it cracked on the passenger side above the airbag. i also have a 2008 chevrolet silverado that the dash is cracked on it too. after researching this problem, i found that this issue is more than just an isolated issue, as people are having the same issue everywhere. this is a lemon and should be a recall.

The dash on my tahoe is cracked over the airbag. i work as a service advisor for a dealership and see every tahoe between 2007 and 2013 comein with a cracked dash. i bought the vehicle with no crack-always use a deflector to keep the vehicle cool-the dash just cracked one day when it was parked
There is a crack in the dark near the air bag on the passenger side of the vehicle. crack is in the front dash,located next to air bag deployment area.
Cracked dashboard bought my 2013 chevy tahoe ltz. has only 98000 miles on it. just noticed a crack at the top left corner of the dashboard, right at the edge of the passenger airbag. two weeks later, another cracked appeared on the driver side, from the bottom edge of the dashboard and continued up and over the instrument cluster hump. both cracks appeared while stationary. this vehicle is primarily garaged and has a windshield cover. very disappointed, since the new retail of this vehicle is close $50,000 brand new and costs over $1000 to replace at the dealer. not to mention, this is our primary family vehicle, which my wife, 7 yo, 4 yo and 6 month old ride in on a daily basis.
Gm case # 8-316-7114203. chevy tahoe ltz dash dashboard cracks have appear on the left side of airbag and right side of instrument panel cracking upward toward the driver. gm was contacted and refuses to help with this defective part. it appears they acknowledge the issue but do not feel olbigated to help the consumer/ this car is to new and expensive for this to occur.. there are many internet links and even class action suits that have been posted with this problem. it should be look as safety issue when just from the stand point of potentially lose interior parts that could dislodge for any reason this is a low mileage one owner car 33k
Dashboard on the driver side is cracking and extending upwards towards the driver. consistently rattles when vehicle is in motion. crack is also visible on the passenger side leading towards the airbag. both cracks were noticed when vehicle was in motion.
I own a 2013 chevrolet tahoe lt. i take good care of my vehicle. last week, i noticed multiple cracks in my dashboard in the immediate vicinity of my passenger side airbag; they seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. there was no incident beforehand that could have caused the damage. my vehicle was stationary from the last time i had used it, to the next time i entered my vehicle and noticed the dashboard cracks. i took my vehicle to preston chevrolet, a nearby gm dealership, and i was advised by the service dept. manager that this type of issue is not a common occurrence, although he had seen it in the past.. he further advised that he was unable to obtain or provide any sort of financial assistance to me in having the defective, damaged dashboard repaired. after researching, i found that it is quite a common problem, and what's more, that chevy tahoe's are the 'common denominator.' i feel that i have been mislead by preston chevrolet. i've since contacted gm and i am awaiting a response from a "senior case advisor." i am primarily concerned about my safety and the safety of my passengers. in the event of a motor vehicle collision, i am certain that shards of plastic would be hurtled into the air, becoming dangerous projectiles that could cause serious bodily injury or harm, not to mention the poor aesthetic appearance and overall devaluation of my vehicle that the fractures have caused. this is clearly a manufacturers defect. i feel i am owed repair and/or restitution from gm as a result.

I have a 2013 chevy tahoe z71 with approximately 45,000 miles. there are a total of three cracks in my dashboard one on the drivers side above the instrument panel and the other two are on the passenger side right above the passenger airbag. i was told by gm that i would have to repair the dash myself and pay out of pocket.
Dashboard cracking. each day it is in different spots. now there are cracks around the passenger airbag which is a major concern and could cause harm.
Dash board is cracked around passenger side airbag and driver side steering wheel. chevrolet dealer refused to replace it even under extended warranty. if i am ever in a accident that bag deploys, pieces of the dashboard will become projectiles. i escalated with and gm with no reply.
We purchased a used 2013 tahoe on 5/25/2017 and the dash is cracked. we hear that this happens a lot, so we wanted you to know. it might become a driving hazard, when the airbag ever deployed.

Dashboard cracked over passenger side air bag. this was not there yesterday and happened while car was parked in the garage. noticed this at 7am arriving to work.
The rear defroster tab has popped off the rear window, this renders the rear defroster unusable, which could lead to someone not being able to see out the rear window. this is an issue that is prevalent in chevy tahoes and suburbans as well as gmc yukons. a simple search reveals thousands of pages on the internet complaining about this issue and gm not doing anything about it.
Cracked dashboard going entirely up the front of driver dashboard. nothing touched it, completely undisturbed, stationary vehicle. cracked on it's on accord, without any factor contributing to the defect on gm's part for the manafacturing of the dashboard itself.
