Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet tahoe. the contact stated that the automatic lift gate closed while standing at the rear of the vehicle. as a consequence the risk for serious injury is increased. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the technicians have not been able to determine the cause of the failure. the current and failure mileages were 63,000.

2007 chevy tahoe ltz 3 out of 4 exterior door handles on outside are broke. not only is it aggravating but also safety issue if child's fingers get stuck or if there is emergency or accident and someone is trying to get in to assist you. i have read several complaints of the same thing online. *tr

I was driving along and the speed control just stopped working. i reset it and the first bump in the road it stopped working. we took it for repair and it worked for about a yr. then the same problem. we had it fixed again and it lasted about another 2 yrs. it has again failed several times to work at all and then you can get in the car and start driving and it will work. currently, it won't come on at all...this apparently is a problem with the chevy tahoe and needs to be recalled. it is very dangerous to drive at 60 mph and all of a sudden it drops quickly in speed. also, our tahoe is garage kept and about a month ago, i noticed a crack in the dash board on the drivers side. i see that this too is a problem with thousands of tahoe. we have had several electrical problems where the door windows stop working, the seats won't move and have had that fixed twice. we also have had the rear door stop working whenever it feels like. we have had that in to the dealer on three occasions. we gave up taking it back. here again no recalls. we also have problems with the tire pressure monitoring system. they work when they want to. why haven't these items been recalled by gm. the dealers know that its a problem, but we still have to pay the bill to get it fixed. if you look on here, thousands of people have the same issues. we have owned many chevys including corvette and 2 tahoes but since gm won't stand behind their products like they should, we will be buying another brand, nissan or honda next time. *tr

Chrome on the interior door handles peels and gets very sharp. had replaced in either july or august of 08 under warranty. its now february and already they are starting to peel again. exterior moldings on the windows were popping up everytime i rolled up/down the windows or at higher speeds, they were also replaced. *tr

1. takata recall on our 2007 chevrolet tahoe (received letter from gm stating we would be notified when parts are available to remedy vehicle. 2. cracked dash - over the steering wheel driver side and through the airbag area on the passenger side ( very hazardous if airbag deploys).

My wife and i have been victims of the faulty chrome plating peeling from the interior door release handles, causing a razor type cut to tips of our fingers therefore causing loss of blood. the interior door release handles have been replaced 3 times within the last 10 months resulting in failure soon after. the last incident happened 6/28/2008 when i exited the vehicle which cut my finger. there is no visual warning when the chrome plating seam fails, but to receive the razor 'like' cut to the finger which is very painful. our level of concern for the safety of our children and family members that have blood ailments such has diabetes type ii,enema, is of great concern. i have been subjected to having to wrap tape on the existing handles that have already been replaced to prevent what could cause permanent bodily injury which i feel is totally unacceptable. if further injuries result in the use of this vehicle, i am requesting the assistance of your organization for a permanent resolution to this issue. your concern will be greatly appreciated from my family and myself. *tr

The inside door handles are made out of a material that are glued together in the middle. the material is sharp and cause cuts to the hand or fingers. *tr

Driver-side door handles (inner and outer) spontaneously fail to open door from inside or outside. a mechanical defect (not electrical). unit manipulated until it started to work first service visit. entire door handle and lock unit replaced second occurrence. entire lock unit fell inside door at third occurrence, truck to be dropped off at shop tomorrow for maintenance. door currently will not open. driver must climb over the console and enter and exit vehicle through the passenger-side door every time this problem occurs. this is the 3rd time truck will need service for this same issue. truck is a 2007 tahoe. *tr

Car has not been in an accident. just concerns like so many other gm customers. there is a crack that is at the airbag, on the passenger side, that keeps getting bigger. concerned that airbag might deploy, or not work at all. have contacted gm corporate several times telling them about the same issue that other customers are having in this same area. when contacting gm they tell me that they have not heard of this issue, but there are so many customers that have complain online. i was told to take my vehicle to the dealership for further inspection and was told that this could have happen by using armorall, in that case the whole console would be cracked and not in certain places where all other customers are seeing the same exact cracks. actually the entire console is affected with several cracks. if gm was not aware, how come some of their customers consoles have been changed out by the dealership? more than once. they tell me because of the model and the mileage of my vehicle it would not qualify. this is a material issue plus a safety issue if it affects the stability of an airbag. there are even videos on u tube that shows a visual picture. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet tahoe. while moving through a touchless car wash with the vehicle in park, the rear liftgate opened. the machine shattered the glass. the driver and front passenger suffered hand cuts from the glass. the dealer was unable to determine the cause of failure. the contact suggested that there was a button above the license plate that lifts the rear gate. the current and failure mileages were 10,000.

The roof skin (top) on my 2007 chevrolet tahoe has come lose from the supports. it is now "flexing" in the wind. *jb

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet tahoe. while driving 25 mph, each door on the vehicle made cracking noises when decelerating or driving on jagged roads. the dealer stated that the failure was unrecognizable and informed the contact to take the vehicle to a mechanic. the mechanic applied lubricant to correct the failure, but the noises returned. the current mileage was 18,000 and failure mileage was 320. the consumer stated did have tire problem, tires were cracking and coming apart. the dealer replaced all 4 tires. updated 09/19/07 *tr

Several problems with new 2007 tahoe, including recall hvac, replace dvd, replace radio, vibrating left driver's mirror, back door molding, repaired passenger door power locks...however, main and irreparable issue is the poor fm & xm radio reception which fades in and out while driving. *nm

The headliner in my new vehicle rattles and it also has some indication of damage near the passenger visor area which obviously occurred during factory (texas) install. *jb

Just after purchase, while they were prepping my new 07 tahoe i noted that it had a dent in the rear drivers-side door in the ridge over the rear wheel opening. a collision center owner informed me that it could not be repaired without installing a new door skin on it. the salesman had stated that it could be popped-out. it obviously happened at the factory as there were no obvious scratches or other indications of impact. *jb

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet tahoe. the contact stated that the dashboard cracked near the air bag area. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

The dashboard has two cracks one over the steering wheel and one over the passenger side air bag. i also have the light on and off saying (air bag service required) and the cruise control n has not been working neither for like 2 years all. it is a safety issue and concern when i travel with my family and this issue should be addressed immediately. thank you [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

My wife opened the passenger door of our tahoe and the peeling chrome cut her finger. *tr

My mother-in-law was getting in our 2007 chevrolet tahoe. as she was closing the door the handle nicked her finger and cut her. after further investigation, we found that the handle had began to peel and had created a sharp edge. we put a piece of tape over it and have had it that way since. she had a 1" cut on her index finger, which we treated with alcohol and a band-aid. *tr
