Problems with 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe STRUCTURE

The dashboard has been cracking and continues to including portions near and around the airbags. *tr

The door handles are coming completely apart on the vehicle. i cannot enter the vehicle on the right side at all and now the driver side handle is coming apart more all the time. eventually i will not be able to get into the vehicle to drive it what so ever and do not have extra money to repair this gm issue. this needs to be taken care at no charge by chevrolet. *kb

I was on r&r leave from the middle east from 26 oct 2011 thru 09 nov. on the 2nd of november i attempted to open my driver side door and the pealing chrome on the door handle slit through my middle finger. the pealing is razor sharp and left a one inch cut in the center of my finger. i had to place tape over the door handle to prevent being cut again. who can i contact about this hazard. i am active duty army and i am out of the country quite a bit so if there is a recall on this i need to know. i am the first and only owner of my tahoe. *tr

My husband and i purchased a 2007 chevrolet tahoe 8-16-11. i cut my left middle finger on the chrome driver side interior handle 8-17-11. after further investigation, we discovered all the handles on the vehicle are peeling and very sharp. we have a small child & i am very concerned that he will also start cutting his hands when opening/closing the doors. i feel as though we spent too much money on the vehicle for the handles to be slicing our fingers open. *kb

The door handle detaches from the door! i have had this happen 3 times now! it costs $170 to repair and it continues to happen. i believe this is a flaw with the vehicle which should be repaired at no cost by the manufacturer. *tr

I am writing to advise a complaint regarding our 2007 chevrolet tahoe ltz door handles. in april 2011, the outside drivers side door handle came partially unattached from the body of the vehicle. the handle came loose only on one side (the far left) leaving it attached from only the far right. the exact same thing happened to the drivers side rear passenger within the last week. that is 2 handles in 2 months. my 5 year old daughter pinched her finger in the unattached space while attempting to open the door. i have taken our vehicle to the dealer and they are charging $172 per handle for the repairs. vehicle is a 2007 with only 25,000 miles. *kb

My dash is cracking in two places above my airbags. the cracks are causing my dash to bulge. it has been brought to my attention that numerous 2007 tahoe's and yukon's all have dash cracks in the same areas. i have contacted gm about this problem and have not received any help. i am worried it will affect my airbags deploying. *tr

Both of my children have been cut several times on numerous occasions by the peeling of the chrome on the door handles in the back seats. the dash is cracking which i have seen this complaint on many many 2007 gm suv's. would like to see something done about these problems since it happens to be a big complaint by many owners. *tr

There were multiple cracks in the dashboard and gm replaced at no charge while vehicle was still under warranty. the new dash developed another crack...this time it is a fairly large piece that has split and could fall out. i notified gm and they offered to replace it if i would pay a $200 deductible. i refused as the initial dash problem was identified while still under warranty period. the fact that it has cracked again while being no more than 2 years old is indicative of a material defect on their part. i have "never" had a dash in any vehicles i have owned (ford, nissan, mazda) crack except for gm. it would be nice to have confidence that pieces of a gm dash will not fly inside the cabin of a vehicle and strike someone should there be an accident in the future. there are well over 200 people on facebook complaining about the inferior dash quality of some gm vehicles and are frustrated that gm has not corrected the problem. this issue also means that i take a financial hit should i try to sell the car because of a faulty dash. gm is wrong. *jb

Liftgate glass fell on head when opened. appears weak bracket at top of glass is insufficient in quality, considering liftgate glass is rarely opened/closed. mileage at incident was 58,102...vehicle is 3 1/2 years old. *tr

The chrome plated driver side door handle is peeling. when the plating starts to peel the chrome is very sharpe and cuts like a razor. i have cut my fingers three seperate times. the dealership wants approx. $100 to replace the chrome plating. in other words, to replace a sticker. this is completely unacceptable and very hazardous. *tr

I have a 2007 chevrolet tahoe and over the past 3 months, the door handles have begun to come loose and pull off the vehicle. i've done research online and i've found that this is a very common problem. the piece is made of plastic and snaps into place and thus has become loose. all 4 of my doors are experiencing this problem and we've been told that gm is not covering this under warranty (i have an extended warranty as well) because it is considered a "trim" piece for the vehicle. this is another reason why i won't buy another gm car and hope they fail next time. i can't believe the government bailed them out and i would like a return of my portion of taxes given to them for their ignorance, lack of quality and lack of professionalism. *tr

I was at a stop light, and the problem happened unexpectedly when i pressed on the gas when the light turned green. my car moved forward just slightly, jerked hard to a complete stop, and it wouldn't drive anymore. i was able to get pushed to the side in neutral, but needed a tow to the dealer. the only working gears were r, 3, 2, and 1. bringing it into the dealer, they confirmed there was a problem with the transmission. i had done some research when this happened and noticed that a lot of people had the same problem, all in the same type of scenario where they were at a complete stop. second issue, not nearly as major is the stabilitrak. the light goes on and off constantly, pretty much from the first year i've had the car. and lastly, the interior chrome door handles have all peeled off and cut me and my passengers several times. the exterior door handles have come loose, the fuel pocket is completely broken, and after a heavy rain, water gets trapped inside the shell of the back door and sloshes around while i'm driving. i have to remove the bottom lining of the door for the trapped water to be released. *kb

I have a 2007 chevy tahoe and both the driver and passenger interior door handles have began to peel and are very sharp. my wife and myself are very careful when we open or close the doors so as to not cut ourselves, but my 2 year old son was in the front seat while i was cleaning the inside of the car and cut his hand on the door handles. it wasn't bad enough to need stitches but believe this is a defect that gm should replace for free, to prevent worse cuts from happening. *tr

I do not feel safe driving my 2007 chevrolet tahoe as the front dashboard has split open and cracked in multiple places. they appear to be stress fractures, or weaknesses in the way the dashboard is manufactured. i have looked at the internet, and there are many others with the same issue, where their dashboards develop stress fractures and split open. the dashboard has two main problem areas; on the passenger side around the air bag opening, and then again over the "hump" that comes up and over the instrument cluster. this crack in particular is very bad, with these cracks splitting off in different directions. the dashboard is now very weak and has no structural integrity. i would not feel safe if this vehicle was in a crash, as the dashboard would provide no support to protect occupants, and the plastic parts of the dashboard would go flying throughout the cabin. chevrolet needs to take responsibility of this and replace the dashboard. *tr
