I have a 2005 chevy 1500hd quadrasteer pickup truck. the rear end started making a grinding sound in the rear axle housing at 63000 miles. i had a repair of $2178.1. i make a living as a mechanic and do not believe this to be a wearable defect after 4 years as i was told it to be the left rear cv joint axle shaft. when i called chevy they would not provide any assistance for the repair. this is unsafe do to it ca cause the axle to lock up and cause an accident. i was lucky and had it repaired before that could happen. *tr
