I own a 2015 chevrolet silverado 1500 ltz in maroon red. i have noticed the clear coat throughout almost every panel of the truck is peeling in large bubbles. the hood is especially bad above the grill. each door below the chrome strip along the lower kick plate is especially bad. each wash of the vehicle makes it worse. sadly, looking at each area, a small pit to the metal is visible; almost as if every rock chip/scratch is making it worse.
Satellite-radio antenna on top of truck is leaking inside of the truck. the vehicle was parked in our driveway when this occurred. damage done to the interior of the truck due to this happening.
Recently on 12/24/2019 my truck started leaking on the roof interior above the drivers seat. it happened again on 1/1/2020 and was much worse from the side drivers door to across the roof to the middle counsel area. the truck was taken in to a mechanic and a body shop where it was determined that it was the 'shark fin' radio antenna causing the leak. the truck has under 35,xxx miles and just hit only 4 years old in age. i contacted gm to see if they could help me as the body shop expressed there has been other gm trucks in town with the same issue that have reported the exact same problem recently. i called 3 different people at gm to seek help with warranty or any coverage to help with the problem but they all expressed there was no help.
The dashboard in my silverado has mysteriously developed cracks around the steering wheel area and the airbag. i am afraid that if something were to happen that it could project plastic pieces causing bodily harm if the airbag were deployed.
Paint started bubbling and cracking off. it is very obvious that the paint did not adhere to the primer. i have 32000 miles. mostly drive on the weekends because i work across the street from my house. i do not do any off-road driving. there is no reason for the paint to peel.
