Vehicle was being operated on a paved road when the rear window defroster was turned on to clear snow on the outside. several moments later i heard a hissing sound coming from the rear interior of the pickup cab and then looked into the rear view mirror, at which time i saw smoke emitting form the lower corner of the passenger side fixed window pane (this is 3 piece rear window where the middle pan opens via electrical switch). the hissing continued with the smoke that was coming from the lower corner of the window nearest to the central window panel. i immediately recognized the odor of an electrical fire (burning insulation) and then turned off the rear window defroster switch. the hissing sound and smoke ceased. a few seconds later 8 heard a loud 'pop' sound come from the back window and observed that the entire rear passenger side window had shattered, in place with the fracture line emanating outward from he area where the smoke was first observed.
Upon turning the vehicle on there were no alerts like seat belt warnings, door open, hands free calling, onstar. also when shutting vehicle off no alarm to indicate keys are in the ignition. cannot hear if blinker is on. nothing comes through the radio. this happens on an intermittent basis. approximately every several months. sometimes it will start the sheets if i shut the vehicle off then start it back up. today it didn't do that. at this time my truck has approximately 80,000 miles. also on occasion the service electric breaks have indicated an issue as well.
Air conditioner blowing hot air.vehicle was in motion.i understand this is a common problem with silverados.did research on line.cost over $1000.00 to repair.condenser failure (leaking)
The accordian piece to the sunroof jammed and tore preventing closing
A/c failure due to cracks in condenser weldments. ac starts blowing warm air, compressor cycles continuously, notice the absence of the cooling fan noise. added one 12oz can r134a, 1 oz pag oil, brought line pressures back> ls-40-45psi/ hs>230-250psi, vent temp on max-38 deg. lasts about a week.
Our air conditioning condenser went out after only owning the vehicle 3.5 years and 70k miles. we bought it brand new. it is costing us $1100 to fix.
I have 60,000 miles and bought it new and today my ac goes out here is another 1000 dollars to repair the condenser i see there are a lot of problems with this year what can we do this is such a shame for the chevrolet family we purchase appx 10 a year and this is what we have to look forward to my brother has a 2015 also and has replaced the condenser 2 times already when are they going to step up and take care of the customers!!?? not only that but i called young chevrolet at 7:27am and spoke with the parts/service dept and they said take it anywhere not the chevy corp office is stating no after i already started the repair i cant be with out ac i have breathing issues and the hot texas heat doesn't help they really need to get their act together!
70,000 miles and truck needs a condenser. it is a know problem and chevrolet needs to do something about it. it is a 1000.00 repair.
I haven't used the a/c in my truck since last october (2018) approximately. two weeks ago was the first time i've tried to use my a/c and it is only blowing hot air, as i was driving down the interstate. from what i've researched, this is an known problem with a lot of vehicles from gm from 2014-2017 and nothing is being done about it.this is not okay, whatsoever.
When backing up i applied the brakes and the pedal was extremely stiff barely able to stop.
There is a faulty ac condenser component that leaks. this causes all the freon to be spilled out and make the ac blow hot air.
Cracked weld in ac condenser. has happened to numerous gm pickups and suv's in this year.
A/c stopped cooling. still blowing, but not cooling. way to new of a truck to have this issue with 100 temps coming soon.
I have a 2015 chevy 1500. it is my daily driver,(in alabama) so when my ac stopped working i figured it needed recharged as i do use it quite often. recharged it and it worked for 2 days. then out again. so i recharged it and used the dye to see where the leak was located. can not see where a leak is anywhere. my truck is just out of warranty. there are 1000's of complaints, why is nothing done? i understand that ac is not a necessity to some but with a 7 yo that has asthma, living in alabama it becomes a necessity. oh, fyi when your air not working neither does your defog. when driving home at night its so bad you cant see out of the window. i have almost wrecked 4 times bc of it. i did hit a dog bc i couldnt see it..... and to think all the 1000's of people having the exact same problem bc of a flawed design. you may want to take note before paying a lawsuit bc someone lost their life bc of something simple and known.
Air conditioning doesn't work. add refrigent and it works for a day or two then stops again. no sign of a leak.
While driving and traffic my brake pedal gets so hard cannot stop truck
Air conditioner not working is have a licks
Apparently the a/c compressor issue is well known via gm yet it is not classified as a recall. we have two children under 5 who have to endure the heat until we find a place that does not try to rob us on something that is happening to every 2015 silverado 1500. on any other basis this would be a recall, so why is it not? at the least, i figured gm would offer a discounted service for replacements. the parts for the 2015 body were already recycled parts so why such a steep price.
As my wife came to a complete stop at a stoplight and as the light turned green, she pressed the gas pedal and the truck would not accerlate. she pressed the gas pedal down to the floor board and still would not accerlate. so due to this the truck slowly rolled foward. she slammed on the brakes and the brakes would not move. like if they became locked and wouldn't move an inch. at this point she is trying to get off the road to the shoulder, to avoid oncoming traffic. then she finds that the steering wheel is also locked and can not be turned. it's taking her maximum effort to stop the truck from rolling forward and to veer off the road to avoid other vehicles. she is finally able to stop the vehicle after about 100 yards of effort and waits about 10 minutes, before the brakes and steering wheel would free up. no error message was present the entire time these functions were disabled and after they freed up, it was like if nothing ever happened. no check engine light has ever been on this vehicle. strong belief this is a manufacturing defect and should have a recall.
Always had truck garaged but now in driveway and when it rains the floor fills with water
It would roll even with the foot on the brake at low speeds faulty air pump had to get air pump, tube, air pump belt, alternator belt, air condition belt that cost me $700.
First and foremost, i'd like to say that i've been completely satisfied with my vehicle up until recently. a little of three years ago, i decided to give up my dodge and switch over to chevy. i liked what they had to offer in the 2015 silverado. long story short, a few months out of warranty, my ac stopped blowing cold air all of a sudden. i immediately took the truck in to the dealer to have it diagnosed and found out that my condenser had a leak. i thought that this was odd due to the fact that i barely drive the truck, literally. it only has about 28,600miles on it in about 40 months. with that said, i proceeded to do a little research. my findings were that this has been an all to common issue with these trucks since the 2014 design. is there anyway to get someone within gm to take a closer look at what is obviously some type of flaw or defect in equipment due to poor craftsmanship? you may say that i should've purchased an extended warranty and all but i feel like a component such as a condenser shouldn't be defective so soon either, especially on a low mileage vehicle that's barely out of warranty. even if gm isn't willing to help me, i'd be happy with them fixing the problem for future consumers so that they don't become a "victim" like i have. it seems like this has been a big problem with these trucks and some others but i was never notified of any recalls or anything. while searching online, i found a "special coverage/program" number (17336). it was also along with nhtsa id 10135138.
After driving at regular speeds brakes work fine. in stop-and-go traffic feel like no brake pedal, have to press very hard truck 2 get truck to stop.
My father died after having a accident in his truck on 11/8/18. i believe it is attributed to the recent recall , leading to him dying after being pulled out through the windshield and collapsed afterwards. the stress from this accident attributed to his death.
The truck was taken to dealership on sept. 24 for recall repair of faulty steering. on oct.1 steering locked up and brakes failed while my daughter was driving and an accident occurred. accident report filed with missouri state police.
Transmission is continually hesitating - when coming to stop and then accelerating again. it is a dangerous situation almost caused accident 3 times
While slowing down to make a turn, usually always using turn signal, my truck will completely shut down in the middle of the intersection with no warning. the engine shuts down and all electrical is lost. luckily i haven't been hit by another vehicle while trying to restart my truck in the middle of the intersection had to jump out car so i wasn't in side if hit finally cars stop honking i jumped back in and started up again i was scared had my children with me
A/c condensor leaks and a/c stops working this happens just after the manufacture warranty expires my truck ac stop working at 37,688
My 2015 silverado has approx 80k miles and the ac blows hot. the dealership found the ac condenser cracked. i understand from reading many gm forums that this is an ongoing issue happening since 2014. gm has known about the faulty design and still has yet to issue a recall or tsb. i have been quoted a price of 1200 dollars to fix a known issue.

Air conditioning not working. blowing hot due to worn hole in hose (thousands of known issues all with exactly the same symptoms and fixes... e x a c t l y!!!!!!) called chev, the guy said nhtsa tells them what to pay for and what to recall so they're hands are clean of this issue. pardon????? worn hole? check bad condenser? check no bracket? check dealership/manufacturer participation? no way in hell! this is absolutely terrible business and there's no way the attorney general, the better business bureau and anyone else i can call are not going to hear about this. oh yeah, the a/c never gets used, otherwise i would've had it fixed 20k miles ago under warranty but i didn't know it wasn't working. there's residue on the hoses from the leak which the dealership should've caught but they didn't. maybe i go that route?
My 2015 silverado began blowing hot air with a/c on. have had refrigerant added several times and it leaks out in 3-4 days. another service location identified the problem as a bad a/c condenser. looked online and discovered that there are many more people affected by this exact problem. some are saying that there is a recall but my dealer says they are unaware of any problems or recalls. this is being reported as 'widespread failure' so vast that the replacement parts are unavailable due to national backorders.
All sound stopped on my truck. radio, turn signal feedback, etc. it was working at end of day but did not work the following morning. i searched and found recall #14315 but your web site says there are no recalls for my vehicle. it has exact same symptoms as described by that recall. i googled symptom and found where someone had disconnected battery for awhile and that fixed it. did for me too but feel the fix in recall 14315 should be applied to my truck as well.
Condenser is going out on my truck.
Faulty tailgate bushing (gm part no. 84331136/84131760), plastic, engineering defect. the part cracks, breaks, disintegrates, simply by opening or closing the truck tailgate over a short period of time. the busing was designed to assist the tailgate by reducing the weight or muscle needed to rest the tailgate without slamming. when the busing cracks or breaks then the tailgate slams down. this is a safety issue since the owner becomes accustomed to the tailgate lowering with ease, and upon the first time opening tailgate after the bushing has been compromised, it slams down, risking injury to your arms, possibly your back or anyone like children, a child's head underneath or below the owners waist. secondly, gm is "price gauging" their customers. the part cost less than $10 during the warranty period, and the cheaply manufactured part, which is most likely spun on a 3-d printer by a canadian company costs $44 now. they do not offer a oem part and have not changed the plastic part to adapt to all of the customer complaints. this is the fourth bushing i have to replace. online research of other truck owners with the same vehicle indicate this is a wide spread public problem. i have filed a complaint with gm. they are not willing to help me replace the part at no cost. please help the consumer. thank you for your consideration.
At 46000 miles the ac unit compressor went bad. i researched this and found it to be a major issue with these gm vehicles. i personally know 4 trucks that have had the same problem. i have to wonder why gm has not recalled this vehicle knowing they have an issue.
Rear drivers side door says it's not latched but it is. therefore the doors do not lock automatically and the dome lights do not turn off automatically. this could cause some serious issues as i don't know if the door is properly latched since it says this all the time. my children ride in the vehicle and this is a huge safety concern.
I join a long list of chevrolet truck owners experiencing ac failure far too soon in the vehicle's life. my 2015 silverado 1500 4x4 z71 with 42,000 miles had the ac completely stop working over the weekend under normal driving conditions. the temperature was 82f. upon inspection at the dealership, it was determined that the condenser had a leak on the top right side and that it would need to be replaced. when i asked about the warranty claim, the service manager explained that he has submitted the claim and that he, " ... had very little doubt that it would be approved." " we see this a lot," he explained. this is a widely known issue and several owners are paying out of pocket for faulty equipment that should have never been installed on such an expensive vehicle. gm's "most dependable truck" slogan is worthy of debate.
Air conditioning on my 2015 chevrolet silverado is only blowing warm air.
Ever since i bought the vehicle i've noticed a ruff ride . it feels like it's coming from rear end . i hit a slight bump on road while driving and it bounces and vibrates roughly. took it back to dealership a month or so after buying it and was told my tires where not balanced , so they balanced them and still came out the same . decided to get a second opinion months later and was told it had weak shocks in front so they changed those out . still nothing had changed . so returned it to the same dealership a week later and they then did the rear shocks mentioning they were in weak condition. still no change . at that time my vehicle was under factory warranty so i guess they troubleshoot the cheapest way just to get the customer out of their and save money on their end . now that my warranty is just over i called the dealership and they are giving me options i should have been told when my warranty was in effect.
I'm adding to the growing list of complaints about the ac issues with gm/chevy full-sized vehicles from 2014-2015. as of 5/3/2018, i had noticed my ac only blowing hot air. tried again the following day, same thing. only being 2 years old, i found it incredibly odd that the freon would be gone already. upon doing my research about the problem, i discovered that this is a tremendously egregious known issue with gmc/chevy owners and a recall regarding the problem has still not been issued to correct it. given the fact my vehicle has just fallen out warranty as well, it's incredibly infuriating that i'm now forced to have these repairs come out of pocket and wait nearly a month for the parts to come in. this needs to be addressed immediately by gmc/chevy before the hottest days of summer arrive.
Air conditioning system stopped working only blows hot air. called dealer about the problem after i learned this has been an ongoing problem. chevy will not cover this problem under warranty. when i told them this was an ongoing problem starting with 2014 models i was told they never heard of this. i was all so told that because i don't have all my service work done with them they really don't feel they need to cut me a brake i would have to pay full price for repair. dave mcdermott chevrolet 655 main st east haven ct
At about 60,000 miles i noticed my ac not working. i was told that it was going to be very costly to fix and a couple of dealerships near me would not get back to me about price and to to fix it, they told me its not under any warranty. they did tell me it would take 9 hours to fix-book time and the parts would be around $300+. seems too early for the air conditioning unit to stop working i notice a smell inside the cab and it was from the evaporator coil leaking. this happened in mid spring and just now was told how to submit a complaint. i have not had it repaired yet due to cost and finding someone to do it.
My 2015 silverado with 59,000 had the ac go out. the ac blows warm air wehter it is parked, driving on the highway @ 65mph. apparently there are thousands of other gm owners with the same issue. this issue is on sierras, silverados, tahoes, yukons, and escalades! it is a defective and well known and documented issue with the ac condenser/compressor. it cost over $1,000.00 to fix and is not covered under warranty with no gm or dealer discounts. the issue is so major that the back order for the part takes months and there are over 18,000 units are on back order! yes! 18,000 units!
The air conditioning does not blow cold. 2015 silverado with 55k. do not hear the ac compressor kick in when ac button pushed. hissing noise overheard when it does decide to work. internet queries lead me to believe this is a known issue with 2014, 2015 silverado models and gm does not acknowledge.
Sun visor driver side
Rear window exploded while in driveway
The third brake light on my 2015 1500 silverado leaked into my headliner. now there is a brown line all the way across my headliner above the rear window. even the service guy at chevy said it wouldn't leank anymore. he has had quite a few trucks come through with this issue. the fix was $153.00. how will i know if mold forms due to this? my truck was sitting in my driveway during the rain.
The vehicle shakes while driving down the road. it shakes all the time above 50 mph. has shaken since purchased.
I have had a 14 now a 2015 silverado that both have had a a/c condenser go out by 45k miles this is completely rediculouse this is not considered a safety concern , and has not been recalled as well as i have spent 2k on these repairs in 2 years i have a condition that i cannot take extreme heat so i have no choice but to spend the money gm was contacted they basically said i will get 12 month warranty on new repair.
