Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet silverado 1500. while driving at various speeds, the speedometer failed to show the current speed of the vehicle, the oil pressure was not registering in the vehicle, and the horn failed to sound. the failures recurred numerous times. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer or diagnosed. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was unknown. ....updated 03-31-16 *bf the consumer stated seatbelts lock up and rear latch cover is broken, transmission shifting hard at times, exterior lighting expiring, windows going off track, and tires losing air pressure, has to be inflated at various times. *tr *cn

My issue is with the oil pressure in my 2007 chevy silverado 1500 4x4. the low oil pressure light comes on and i can hear the lifters tapping. i got online and there are thousands of complaints on this same issue. it appears to be a problem with either a defective oil pump or a screen in the oil pressure sensor clogging. this issue needs to be recalled because it effects literally thousands of people.

Driving down road when reduce engine power comes on and shuts down the power and i can not drive over 15mph on a busy highway..... *tr

The transmission cooler lines rusted through near the external cooler behind the front grill area, leaking the fluid causing the vehicle to loose speed and stop on the road. no reverse or drive. *tr

It sounds like the rearend it feels like something bumps you from the rear. i checked the drive shaft,u joints i just think its in the rearend have not taken it to a mech. yet he will tell me the same thing. *tr

I have a major rattle, and loud roaring at all speeds. i took it to the shop and they couldn't find anything. but it seems like it is getting worse i don't want my front end to fall out and kill me. could you please look in to this problem and tell me if there is a recall or notice thank you *tr

Week prior to incident these truck symptoms occurred simultaneously while driving in hot weather highway speed smooth dry surface highway. abs light on service 4 wd on left speedometer and tachometer flicking off and on door locks flipping off and on shifting hard jerking rear end clunking odometer window going blank on 9/2/13 while driving hot weather at 25-30 mph on dry gravel left rear wheel locked up without warning possibly due to down shift. clunk in rear end service 4wd indicator light came on then went off. service engine light came on immediately following left rear wheel lockup with the following codes. code p0121 throttle position sensor p0171 lean air fuel ratio bank1 p0174 lean air fuel ratio bank 2 p0121 p0171 p0174. *tr

This is a recurring problem- my vehicle (purchased brand new by me) while cruising on the highway will start to try and cut off while driving. the door locks will pop up and down, the dash gauges power on and off, the headlamps flash on and off, etc... last week the vehicle completely shut down while doing this and i had to coast to the side of the road. this happened three times in 48 hours. *tr

Vehicle stabilitrack and traction control lights came on. engine warning light came on. while attempting to turn the vehicle onto a highway acceleration ramp, the car steering wheel locked and the engine died. could not unlock the power steering. i was towing a horse trailer well within the gross weight for the vehicle. i had a horse in the trailer at the time. i also had children in the car. after a few minutes, i was able to start the vehicle and pull into a safer area. i was not able to tow the trailer home but i was able to get the vehicle home. the car hesitated and chugged along surging into each gear. while at a stop the vehicle hesitated and the engine sputtered. i had to put the truck in neutral and put my foot on the accelerator so the car engine would not die. the transmission would surge each time i stepped on the gas. limited turning radius on the vehicle and i was not able to make a sharp turn without a grinding noise. *tr

Transmission shifted into 2nd gear while traveling 70mph down the highway. will no longer shift past 2nd gear and shifts hard. *tr

2007 new body style chevy silverado jerks / bangs while stopped as if i was rear ended. this has happened ever since the truck was new. currently has 30,000 miles. the dealer of course could not duplicate problem. *tr

There is a major problem with my '07 chevy silverado 1500 z71 4dr pick-up. the truck has been eating it's own oil. it also had transmission leak due to defective part causing the vehicle to loose oil for no reason and there is no gm parts to fix the problem. this has happened twice and after investing alot of money and taking care of vehicle maintenance properly, i am truly upset and this is a serious problem. *tr

Chevy silverado 2007, the transmission jerks/shifts out of gear when stopped at a light. as if someone has bumped you from behind. it takes several seconds (5-20) for it to occur. *jb

2007 chevrolet silverado 1500 5.3l engine. at 40,000 miles, the camshaft and a couple of lifters were replaced due to wear and eventual tapping. again at 90,000 miles, the camshaft and a couple of lifters (lobe 4) were replaced due to lifter wear and breakage causing engine tapping. on the second occurrence, after the lifters had started tapping (and 900 miles from home) a piece of a lifter broke off and caught in the oil pump causing it to stop. i quickly turned off the engine to avoid further damage. upon this second occurrence of lifter failure causing the camshaft to wear, i felt sure that chevrolet and gm would replace the engine with a short block but i was extremely disappointed. gm and the chevrolet dealer admitted that a camshaft should last as long as the vehicle but i am on my 3rd camshaft in this engine before the warranty ended. one tried to convince me the camshaft was probably of a bad lot made but these 2 occurrences were too far apart for me to believe that a recall would not have occurred during that time. the other (gm) tried to convince me that the camshaft wore out the lifter but i don't buy that excuse either. a new set of tires lasted longer than the engine on both occurrences. i believe the problem is still there. i still have the defective engine block in my vehicle which causes me to doubt the engine dependability and will cause a reduction of the value of my vehicle when it is time to sell or trade. *tr

Automatic transmission does a "clunk" sound (as if it was shifting to a gear) in "drive" while at a complete stop. when stopping at a stop sign or a stop light, approximately 15 seconds after the complete stop, the transmission "clunks" into what sounds as if it is shifting into a gear (probably first gear). this had begun infrequently, but is now occurring more often, at least once a week now. i had the dealer look at it while still under warranty, but they stated no "codes" were showing up on the computer. what they ended up doing is greasing the ends of the drive shaft, stating that was the problem. however, this issue continues. it could be a computer program problem. *tr

As to date, december of 2012, there are over 212 complaints to nhtsa about the quality of the 2007 silverado pickup,be it 1/2 ton or any other. why hasn't the above administration done something about the problem? my own problem with my vehicle is on the list of complaints as i have already filed a complaint with nhtsa, but to no avail.the gm manufactures have sold the consumer a bill of goods. from reading the list of complaints it leads one to the conclusion that the consumer has purchased a pile of junk.the quality of the vehicles are based on the quality of parts put into the vehicle when it is put together. the auto companies are getting away with highway robbery, when they purchase low quality parts, passing the problems onto the consumer, and not standing behind their workmanship.we as consumers have a right to be protected from shoddy workmanship, and as i see it,we are not getting our moneys worth. when is the administration going to do something about all of the complaints filed? *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet silverado 1500. while driving approximately 40 mph in the rain, the vehicle shifted out of gear and spun out sideways. the failure has occurred approximately 200 times while driving in tow haul mode. the vehicle has been repaired approximately five times, but the failure still persists. the current mileage was 23,000 and failure mileage was 18,000.

We have a new 2007 chevrolet silverado that has been a problem. when you gave it gas it would shift real hard, we took it to the dealership and the seals in the transmission had to be replaced. the truck was in the shop 2 or 3 days for that. the hard shifting was still there. we continued to drive it. a couple days later my husband was driving the truck, and it stalled on him while driving. we drove it for about a week like that until i called gmac to report to them what was going on with the truck. the women i talked with told me it was a saftey issue and needed to be taken into the dealership.we took it into the dealership everytime the truck would stall while driving and nothing showed up on any dashboard displays. when the dealership had it,they hooked a computer to it and drove it. it did stalled on them, and their computer registered a failure, but it showed no codes. the dealership said they had to contact gm to find out what to do. we needed our truck by friday because of prior plans. we called gmac complaint line on thursday to find out what was going to happen. we talked with the complaint department as well as their saftey deparment explaining everything that was going on and that we needed thetruck. they said there was really nothing they could do, and pretty much told us we could pick thetruck up, knowing it was already noted as unsafe to drive. on friday the dealership put a new computer in it, and my husband picked it up. on saturday my husband and i were driving on i-75 in the passing lane going 75 mph and the truck quit on us. we almost had an accident with a jeep, along with almost going down a hill. i called gmac right away to let them know what happened, along with letting them know that the computer wasn't the problem. this truck was a major safety issue. i've explained my concerns with gmc over the last couple of days, and they didn't want to help us at all.*ak

1,100 miles into owning our new 2007 silverado, a loud clunk was heard pulled over to find the left rear axle shooting oil and smoking like crazy. the vehicle had to be towed back to the dealership. 10 days later and over 8 hours of work the rear axle was rebuilt. unclear as to why. ..still working on that issue. *jb
