'takata recall' i found 2 recalls that match the systems of my vehicle perfectly however when i put my vin in. the recalls do not come up. here are the recall numbers i am referring to. 51230, and 39440. when the engine power reduced happens usually on the highway only has happened a few times on the street. when braking a noice is coming from under the hood and the engine light comes on.
Takata recall my car has completely shut off on me twice in traffic now, this is dangerous because you loose control of your steering and brake system luckily both times i was not going at a high speed and i let the car slow on it's own, but there are no error codes popping up, no type of warning at all that something is wrong with the car. sometimes it won't start in the morning so at first i thought it was the battery or remote battery so i changed both it started working for about a week so i thought the issue was fixed but it still cuts off a few times a day, like today it wouldn't start and when i finally got it started my heat and air conditioning system would not work, other times my home screen will be completely black and no power to it. i hope whatever is going on with these vehicles are fixed soon because it is very scary and dangerous when this happens especially in the middle of traffic. another thing when my car is stationary and it won't start i will push the push to start button you will here a clicking sound and the engine light will flash but the engine will not turn on once i do get it started i get the word stabiletrak, so i took my car to the chevy dealer once again and they are not able to find anything wrong with it.
Engine failure. my car went completely out while driving home. the stabikitrak pop on, engine light pop on, brakes locked up making it hard for me to stop the car in traffic. i hope they are planning on doing something about this because i shouldn't have to be afraid for my life. this car is definitely not safe.
Tl* the contact owns a 2016 chevrolet malibu. while driving 70 mph with the cruise control activated, the vehicle failed to stop or slow down when the brake pedal was depressed. the contact had to drive onto the shoulder at speeds of more than 55 mph in order to avoid crashing into oncoming traffic. during the incident, a 911 call was made and police responded by pushing the vehicle into a median in order stop it and prevent the vehicle from crashing into other vehicles. a police report was filed. the contact stated that the emergency brake did not operate and the stop/start button was pressed, but did not turn off the vehicle. the vehicle was towed to bale chevrolet (13101 chnal pkwy, little rock, ar) where it was diagnosed that the engine vacuum fractured and caused the braking system to fail. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided case number: 9-531-1269174. no further assistance was offered. the failure mileage was 95,000.
While driving on highway my "stabilitrak" light flashed on and i was unable to accelerate. i pulled over and while breaking the car was hopping. turned the car off and back on and various lights came on (stabilitrak, check engine, traction control and steering assist). i attempted to start driving again and the car would not accelerate appropriately. had it towed to dealership who couldn't find anything wrong with it because all the alerts had turned off.
My 2016 chevy malibu has 93,000 miles on it. no issues until this day. last week i was driving it in a neighborhood about 40 miles from my home. when i got to the neighborhood i had to apply my brakes. the brakes were locked at top of the pedal. i was unable to stop. scared the [xxx] out of me! dropped the people off. drove 3 blocks to a 7 11, scared to drive any further. parked and the car died and would not start. waiting 3 hours for the tow truck, finally got the chevy malibu and myself home a 5am. had a mobile mechanic run a diagnostic on it. multiple issues came up. everything from multiple brake issues and even more engine issues. had to towed to a chevy dealership near by. brake tech ran a diagnostic, said not brakes it's an engine issue. engine tech says it 'maybe' timing or cam shaft. $2500 on a maybe, best they can tell from the diagnostic. from all the reviews i have read about this very same issue and the guessing game at owners expense. none of these have fixed the issues. while reading the reviews, i read 3 people have died from this very same issue. in addition gm has remove any and all warranty on this vehicle above the 36,000 miles. gm will not take any responsibility for the chevy malibu death trap which they are fully aware of. no recall, no repair support for the dealership that now is involved with this worthless product. my question for gm is how many people have to die before they will do anything about it? i say to the ceo of gm. i want one of your family members to have my car as there daily drive. but wait the engine will not even turn over. nothing but a paperweight now. to all head honchos at gm i have large car parts the need to be placed were the sun don't shine. take responsibility for your product!!! i will inform every website, social media and any forum possible about your products and your complete lack of ethics. *bf information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2016 chevrolet malibu. while driving and depressing the brake pedal, the pedal traveled to the floorboard and there was a grinding noise. there was no warning indicator illuminated. in addition, the vehicle lost power and failed to accelerate. keller chevrolet (located at 3600 genesee st, cheektowaga, ny 14225, (716) 650-4589) stated that the vin was not included in a recall. the contact performed his own diagnostic testing and retrieved failure code: p0556 (brake booster pressure). the dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 32,000.
Brakes or esc complaint i am a grandmother who drives her granddaughters to and from school. as i and my granddaughter exited the freeway onto the service road, i pressed the brake pedal and slowed down. after going another 50 feet i pressed the brake to stop at the traffic light and the pedal went all the way to the floor board..quickly i pressed the pedal again and it went to the floor for the second time. the third time i pressed the pedal as hard as i could into the floorboard. there was a vibrating sound. next, i pressed the pedal for the fourth time and felt the normal amount of resistance and it performed properly and stopped the car. i drove a few more blocks to my destination going 10 miles an hour with my hazard lights on. i called my road side assistance service to take the car to the dealership. the next day i explained the experience to the service department. they drove it and said they couldn't duplicate the experience. they drove the car several times but then said they could not find anything wrong so they were ready to give it back to me. i said i'm not ready to take it back and that they should be glad they didn't duplicate my experience, because, they might have hurt someone.. i called gm and they called the dealership. the service manager called me and said he drove it and it performed normally. i asked him to consult with the factory or try to get a brake specialist to look at it. and i told him i will not drive the car another inch until they know what happened and fix it. they did not give me a loner car so i have rented a car at $50 a day. i hope to get this resolved.
Stablitrack not working, abs not working and steering assistance not working intermittently. car had only 21220 miles on it. dealer says it has an internal malfunction in the electronic control module, code c056d. problem occurred while in motion in a straight line on a city street at about 35 miles per hour and then verified while vehicle was stationary. the steering assistance problem happen while stationary, then verified while in motion turning on a city street at a slow speed. verification was in accordance to instructions in the owners manual.
My car stabilitrak comes on every other 20 mins when driving. if i try to accelerate my cars check engine light will come on and then say engine power reduced almost stopping my vehicle on the interstate i can only drive it in town under 40 mph. diagnostic showed nothing and of course no recalls but every recall chevy has with the malibu fits my model. very disappointing. it has become very dangerous. today i was headed to pick up my daughter from daycare and my brake pedal became very stiff and i could not stop causing me to roll through an intersection thankfully it was a green light and let the car roll until it stopped. i was terrified. i have not had the car long and it is a headache.
Egine power reduced light. the car wont go over 20-30mph. brakes malfunction causing a small fender bender. its hard to start wont stay running. it even lost power on the hwy a few times before the wreck.
In december of 2018 on a road trip, my brakes failed; i literally had to slam on the brakes to get the car to stop. this happened on the pennsylvania turnpike, with myself, my mother and my 5 year old daughter in the car. you can imagine the fear i felt at that time. thankfully, i was able to merge onto the shoulder of the road and wait for a tow truck. my car was taken to a chevrolet dealership in harrisburg, pa and it took them a week to replace the vacuum pump. july 2019 i notice that my engine light is on and there is a message on my dashboard that states 'reduced engine power.' i immediately made an appointment for service at the dealership that i initially purchased the car from. my car has been there since tuesday, july 23, 2019 and they tell me that the 'anti-lock brake' system has failed and they are still trying to pinpoint why the engine light is on. the dealership suggested that we take the car home and bring it on another day, but again, leaving the dealership, the brake pedal became stiff and we could not apply pressure to it! they have since replaced the vacuum pump again.
I've had problems with the off and on ignition push button since last year. i have to push and start several time in order to cut off to lock my doors and turn the radio off. my brakes locked on me while driving on the street and smelled like rubber where burning. i had the vehicle towed. i was told nothing is wrong and had to get my vehicle and park it.

2/2/18. was traveling at 47 mph when a truck stopped in front of me. i was approximately 10 car lengths away. i hit the brake to stop, felt the pedal vibrate for a few seconds and then the pedal went to the floor and the vibration went away. pumped the pedal again and slowed the vehicle and was able to get over to the right before hitting the truck. the air bags did not deploy, the auto stop feature did not work. the onstar did not activate.the roads were dry, and the road was flat. gm sent someone to retrieve the data from the computers, we have copies of the report. the data shows 5 seconds before the crash. according to the braking data, the brake was applied at 47 mph and the vehicle slowed but did not stop. after getting the vehicle back from the body shop, we had the codes pulled and found numerous codes in the different modules. there was a code u0415-71- invalid data received from electronic brake control module present as a history code. we took the vehicle to a chevy dealer and they confirmed all the same codes. we had to take the car back to the original dealer that did the body work in case it was accident related. the second dealer is claiming that even though codes are present there is nothing they can find wrong. i believe the abs failed on this vehicle and was the direct cause of the accident.
On 1/4/2018 i was driving on i-95 and the car brakes sudenly stop working completly
I slammed on the breaks at around 55-60 mph and i know my anti lock breaks didn't lock. i felt the wheels still rolling my car slowly came to a bumpy stop. as if the tire would roll then stop roll then stop.

Brand new 2016 malibu 30 miles off the lot and 100% of the time the car bucks when braking. from 3rd gear to first gear the car engine pulls back the car abruptly while the rpm's rise almost 1000 back down with each shift. i brought it to chevrolet 3 times as well as called the hot line #. after twice being told that no one can find what im talking about they turned the story to well chevy engines do that so don't worry about it. that its the eco engine conserving power. i have replicated the situation to the dealership and in return, nothing was fixed. i looked online to see if other people who bought this car had this issue and haven't turned up anything. the car is worst in stop and go traffic and apparently they say unless a recall in issued theirs nothing to be done. city driving it happens 100% of the time when the brake is applied. highway, only when having to slow down enough to hit the lower gears. i feel that this issue is also wearing away the brakes faster than usual. this car has a checkered history with recalls and my model year even had transmission issues and yet i'm told to deal with it. i have been sure to make a paper trail of bringing it in since i drove it off the lot as well as every time i've spoken off the books about it to chevy employees.i know there is a problem with this vehicle as well as others. it seems as if the timing of the downshift even could be the issue but i don't know and they won't even look at it unless the check engine light comes on or a recall is issued. and when the car bucks sometimes the brakes don't have a tight enough grip and causes the car to pounce an inch or two.
