1st problem message pops up when parking. message reads shift to park even when shifter is in park. will turn off engine but will not turn off the accessory. need to shift in and out of park several times until message disappears and allows to turn off. 2nd problem message pops up no remote detected press brake to restart

Vehicle has been stopped or during turning or driving on city street or highway and shut off engine, engine light come on and had restart in traffic also radio screen misses up and on star does not work properly when it happens. can't steer vehicle when it shuts down. about caused me to wreck 4 times. this vehicle is not safe for me or my passengers it has low miles and still under bumper to bumper warranty and chevy dealers have no clue the cause. please contact me if you need more info i be glad to show u issues with it and i love someone to help me fix the unknown issues before it gets me or my child or someone else hurt.

I took the car to the mechanic because of check engine light car wasn't acting weird or anything. they recommended replacing multifunction power supply converter, it has internal issues i approved they told me everything is fine everything cleared. the next day the vehicle started to go crazy i stated that engine light is on again car lounges forward and that the doors lock and unlock all while driving and car then just stops i had to restart it. they recommended replacing battery i approved .the same day i picked up my car check engine light showed but the next day car started to be it self again so i kept it didn't take it in.a week later the same symptoms car jolts forward,it locks and unlocks when driving and car turns off completely this time they recommended replacing negative battery cable i approved. 30 minutes after leaving the mechanics, car has the same exact previous symptoms but now car went beyond crazy, car was on drive but won't accelerate, break, and steering wheel locked, dash said (service stabilitrak) (ice possible) it hot outside. it happens when i get off freeways, when i'm driving on regular streets: doors locks and unlocks dash always say check rear door locks the, car lunges forward and then car just stops and won't go i have to turn it off then on again. just imagine if car completely stop in a freeway, i'm lucky that it gives me a warning when i hear the locks go crazy i pull over i then able to drive it slowly home and all the way home car jolts towards locks are going crazy and car stops frequently in the middle of the streets. then i'm able to take it to the mechanics like nothing ever happens to it. goes back to normal with no check engine light like nothing ever happened.

My car will be in park and the engine is shut off but the display will indicate that the vehicle needs to be in park. i will have to start my car several time and switch the gears several times for the indicator to go off. this will go on sometimes for approximately 5 minutes. i have attempted to put on the emergency brake in hopes that this will rectify the problem to no avail. this has happened several times at the store and in my driveway.

Water leaked into the body of the car through the center mount stop lamp at the top of the rear window. either the gasket was defective, or it was simply missing from the car. over time, water seeped into the car from under the drivers seat. the heat from the summer caused mold to grow on the vehicle floor boards and the drivers side seat blet. moisture in the car caused damage to the electronic components. the car is totaled and currently awaiting inspection at the chevrolet dealership in my area. *ln*tp the consumer stated he no longer owns the vehicle. *js

False indication of car not in park and does not turn off dashboard displays and car battery discharges fully

When i put my car in park, on the dash board it say put car in park to turn off. when my car is in park. also when i go to start my car it take a while for it to start. it will say serivce stablility. my air bag lights came on. i also have seen that alot of customers that has the same car is having the same problem

When i shift my car into park & turn my car off, i get a warning light that says 'shift to park' which happens almost every time i go to turn my car off. very recently my car is also turning on the backup camera when shifting to drive. the shift to park issue has been going on for a month now but the backup camera coming on had just started 4 days ago. the day i bought my car it was brand new but could not bring it home the day i signed the paperwork because the dealership had to replace the body module. now, after my car being in the shop 9 times in 2 years, the dealership is telling me i'm responsible for the repairs. note: my car is push stop not key

My malibu all of sudden started sending a message when i go to turn the car off that my car needs to shift to park. i have the car in park, but it is not registering it is in park. it doesn't happen all the time, it happens 90% of the time when i go to turn the car off.

Takata recall - i have been having problems locking, unlocking, and turning on my car. when the car finally gets turned on it will say that the keys are not detected. or when i put it in drive it will tell me to turn the car off and then turn it back on. takata recall - about once a month when i turn my car on, a loud buzzing noise comes on for around 30 seconds.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 chevrolet malibu. while driving approximately 65 mph, the "reduce speed" warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle's speed was reduced to 40 mph. simultaneously, a bell chimed and the check engine indicator illuminated. the contact stated that the vehicle would not accelerate beyond 40 mph. in addition, the contact stated that the vehicle's doors locked and unlocked on their own on more than one occasion. rydell chevrolet in north ridge, california was made aware of the failure and replaced the engine at 5,000 miles, but the failure recurred. santa paula chevrolet in santa paula, california was made aware of the failure and replaced the battery, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. onstar was contacted and diagnosed that the engine and transmission throttle failed to function properly. the failure mileage was approximately 5,000.

The transmission shifter will not acknowledge being in park. when the shifter is moved into the park position, it latches into position properly, but something electronically does not recognize that it is in park, so when you push the start button to turn off the car, it will shut off the engine but display a warning 'please put vehicle in park". since it doesn't know it is in park, it will not fully turn off. it will stay in accessory mode, thus keeping on the lights, the radio, etc, and it will not allow you to lock the doors. jiggling the sifter, rocking the car, restarting and turning off again, taking in and out of park, all did nothing to solve the problem. this is a safety risk for theft as it is obvious that the vehicle is not secured since the lights and radio are still on. you also can't keep any valuables in the car since it can't be locked. when this issue first happens it is very intermittent, so they dealer can't replicate the issue so they refuse to fix it. once it happens regularly they can fix the problem, but it seems gm doesn't know what is causing the issue, so they force you to replace the entire shifter assembly for $700. it turns out this issue is very common in newer malibus. it is one of the most-discussed forum posts on the malibu forums website. this needs to be a recall and be covered at no charge from gm since no one expects to buy a vehicle that cannot be locked and doesn't turn off from accessory mode.

My horn doesn't work sometimes, check engine light comes on and off, radio stop working sometimes, when turning on the heat or air conditioner it sounds like sparks coming from the inside of that area

Passenger side airbag sensor activates even though there is no passenger. radio shorts and turns off for no apparent reason.

On 1/4/2018 i was driving on i-95 and the car brakes sudenly stop working completly

Takata recall: my veichle have been having electrical issues since months now. i have been paying extra money to repairs and still doesn't get it fix. dealership doesn't know what to do anymore. my car turns off at the light to save gas but whenever i release the brake back again the whole screen goes off and back on again with the engine. sometimes i have to push it to the side of the street because it doesn't want to turn back on. mesaage on the screen says ' power steerling reduced, please drive with care' also it says sometimes ' stabilititank ' . i need help on this situation because i don't know what to do anymore. i saw a recall of 7,000 cars same type like mine on 2016 for the same issues. thank you.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 chevrolet malibu. while attempting to park the vehicle, "vehicle not in park" appeared on the instrument panel. on another occasion, the contact was unable to shift the gear from park into drive. the vehicle was taken to berger chevrolet (located at 2525 28th st se, grand rapids, mi 49512, (616) 949-5200) where it was diagnosed that the shifter control failed. the transmission shifter control was replaced, but the failure recurred after 34,000 miles. the vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer where it was diagnosed that the shifter control failed again. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified. the failure mileage was 74,697. *tr see attached for the dealer paperwork for the 1st incident. i've also attached the my chevy diagnostic repent for the current issue.*jb

Every time i push the brake pedal and the auto stop engages the engine turns off, but when you take your foot off of the brake pedal the whole dash display goes out, including the turn signals. it takes about a minute for the dash to come back on. this happens several time a day, and it has been going on for at least two years. it scares me when this happens.

I decided to lease a 2016 malibu of february 2016. the car was great until months later i started to have problems. i was driving to school on the freeway in october 2016, when my car suddenly went into reduce speed engine. i was driving approximately 65 to 70 mph. i was in the left lane of the freeway. as i was driving my car dashboard display reduce speed engine, then immediately my car went from 70 mph to 30 mph to 20mph. i manage to get my car to the emergency lane of the freeway. the problem was fixed that following week, with complications of trying to get a rental car so i can go to work and school. 2017 october 31st, i was driving to go pick up my son from school. i was on a major street. my car went into reduce speed engine. i was driving 35 mph. my car went from 35 to 20 mph's again. i managed to pull into a near bank. shaken up i parked my car and turn it off and then back on within five minutes. the light was still display on my dashboard. i drove to my son school. i couldn't drive over 10 mph. it normally take 10 minutes to drive to my son school it 25. it took even longer to get back home. november 30th, same problem happen again. while driving on a major highway. once again i was in the left lane driving the reduce speed engine came on. my car slowed down. i had cars behind me honking their horns at me nearly causing a few accidents. i manage to get off the freeway. i did not want to be stuck on the freeway while it was dark. i was stranded at a nearby gas station for close to two hours. the problems i keep having with this car is dangerous. i refuse to drive a vehicle that can potentially cause me or my son our lives.

While driving alert on panel showed service power steering drive care when this happened car lost traction and brakes not worked properly. 3 x my car is been on davis maus sanford service last service august my car was returned 8/5/15 manager assured me it was fixed and since 3 weeks ago started again now while is park and turned off message of swift to park appeared and all electronic /radio ect start on and alarm activation doesn't work.

I seen the recall about the air bag on the passenger side of the front seat i'm having a issue like that what can be done to see if it's related to what y'all are recalling thanks and be side that it come on and off on it's own even when no one is seating there.

I have had my vehicle for 2 years since day 1 i have had issues with the vehicle from control arms, electrical in doors and car systems, throttle body, stability traction control. i think the car has been in the shop well over 12 times with at least 5 times being the throttle body where the car just looses power and your unable to drive more than 40 mph. it generally would happen on the freeway. i would pull over and have to turn my car off and sit and then turn it back on. the above issues with this car is just to name a few. by the way i purchased the vehicle at 27,000 miles so there is no reason why these issues should continuously be happening. i have called chevy numerous of times complaing that this vehicle is something wrong with it. i believe they have just about replaced every part except for the brakes, engine and transmission and i a sure those are going to be next. i could go on and on about this vehicle however, it is definitely something wrong. i just took it in for check engine light again and noise from rear end sounding like a strut. and they found issue with key thob causing check engine light, leaking strut, and bad wheel bearings. now that just adds more to the list. not to mention i get home and the check engine light is back on again and the noise is slightly still there. i have plenty of records i just have to much to upload here, but if someone could please look into my situation. this has truly been a nightmare. we cannot even drive the car on the freeway to far because we are scared we may get stuck.

I purchased the car in june of 2016 and have had multiple electrical/software issues with the vehicle. the latest issue is a complete shutdown of the entire infotainment center, including causing the blinkers to go silent. some of the issues with the car seem to pose much more of a critical safety issue and i feel obligated to report to the national highway traffic safety administration regarding my issues with engine power failure. there have been multiple recalls regarding the ignition stop/start function, the battery monitor module timer, and even the entire engine control module. i was on the highway and the engine power failed, fortunately i was able to exit i-94 safely. this vehicle and entire experience has me feeling financially violated and physically unsafe.

Takata recall: i purchase a new vehicle in 2016. i start having issues 6months after purchasing. the first one that was never resolved: check engine, engine power reduced. i have taken my car to chevy webb in lansin, il. this car has stop on me on the expressway and on the street. when reduce speed come i have to pull over and hoping i am not on the express again. now, chevy stop assisting me with these issues because warranty is over but, this issues were never resolved. now i find out that 2016 malibu had a recall on them may 2016 regarding the same issues that i am experiencing now. i purchased oct 21, 2016. my car has been service over 25 and still having the issues. please see attahed service report. please help me

When the vehicle goes into auto stop and goes to come back on it randomly has problems, and the radio completely cuts out now this is not every time is goes into auto stop it's just random i do have a video of the issue. it will not allow me to upload the video but you can email me and i can send it to you

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 chevrolet malibu. while driving 70 mph, there was a beeping sound coming from inside the vehicle and then a red light appeared on the instrument panel. shortly after, the brakes involuntarily depressed, but then immediately engaged properly. the contact felt unsafe in the vehicle. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 1,800.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 chevrolet malibu. the contact stated that when the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician stated that it was operating as designed to save fuel. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to nhtsa. the failure mileage was 175. the vin was not provided.

Almost impossible to remove fuses in dash. even with pullers need to remove fuse f-10 and f-41 in order to flat tow vehicle behind motorhome.
