I was driving in detroit mi i was at the light when my my car lights start blinking off and on and my air bag popped out
The car constantly shows a digital message saying "service air bags," it was serviced over a year ago in ny at a buick dealer, and there was a recall relating to changing the key fob. didn't work or make sense. in mn my mechanic has looked at the error several times, can't find a code, resets the computer and the message still shows. in addition, the passenger side seat now shows an air bag malfunction too. i can't find a recall but i am gravely concerned that i have no protection for either passenger. this is my second registration of this compaint and i have heard nothing>

I was on 44 just turned on 41 no cars on left or right none behind proceeding across traffic light other party was making a right turn i was stopping brakes ankle was fractured and we had a head on colision. *tr
The first thing that happened was my passenger side rear door just suddenly flew open while i was driving my vehicle down the road. doors were locked and all were completely closed and the door just came open for some unknown reason. had my mechanic take a look and he couldn't see anything unusual about the mechanism or anything on the door. it has happened several times since so now i put the seatbelt through the door handle and pull it tight and lock seatbelt into place so if it happens the door won't fly open again. the second issue i am having is with the airbag warning light and alarm coming on randomly when i am driving my car. i took it into the chevy dealership for one of the other recalls and they said that to put it on the tester, it would cost me $120 (which i cannot afford to pay), so they just let it be and fixed the recall i brought it in for. i am still having the problem and i notice that when the warning light is off and i press the horn...it comes on immediately and beeps at me. is this a safety issue to be concerned with? with all the issues and recalls this car has been having i am not sure if it's an issue to be concerned about or not or just wait to hear on another recall or? i can't pay that to have it actually diagnosed. *tr

On october 15, 2014, i was on my way to work when the steering in my car suddenly and completely went out. for no reason, my car lost control and began to swerve and the wheels began to squeal. my steering wheel was easily movable, but the car would not go in the direction that i turned the wheel. i almost hit another car head on if she hadn't stopped her car. i also couldn't stop the car. as i applied the brakes, the car did a complete 360 turn as it continued to travel down the street. the car finally hopped the curb and hit a light pole on the front driver's side. the car finally stopped, but felt like it wanted to continue to drift until i took the key out of the car. my car has been declared a total loss by my insurance company and i could've died had i hit that other vehicle head on, or if that pole hadn't stopped my vehicle. no airbags ever deployed. *tr

It started since 2013 and new things are just happened what part of your car was affected? engine elec. stability control seat belts unknown or other
I was driving on the interstate on 11/18/2012, when a car cut across all three lanes. it had not been raining, and the roads were dry, but when i applied my brakes to avoid hitting the car that cut me off, my wheels locked up sending me fishtailing at 70+ mph. i slid into the center lane, striking a vehicle on my right rear corner panel. i then repeatedly tried to pump my brakes and turn into the skid to regain control of the vehicle, and each time the wheels locked up again. after failing to regain control of my vehicle i hit the center guard rail, still going 60+ mph, collapsing the whole left side of my vehicle. after skidding to a stop, my "service airbag" warning came up on my center dashboard display, without even deploying. my car has been deemed totaled by insurance, and is no longer safe to drive. i was the only person in the car at the time, and emt's and fire fighters that arrived to the scene said if it weren't for the lack of cars on the road, i may not have survived.
When first starting the car and also while driving the air bag indicator comes on and information center reads service air bag along with an alarm. when this happens all the above-mentioned warning lights and read out may stay on for the entire ride or go off shortly after coming on. has not affected the driving or handling of vehicle. i am concerned that if this happens before an accident will the air bags deploy. *tr
Me and my daughter were driving to the store, we had passed an intersection it was a green light and the car in front of me slammed on her brakes, i responded with slamming on my brakes as well, however i could not avoid hitting the car in front of me head on , who then hit the car in front of them. the entire front end of my car was destroyed. i was in shock and could not believe my air bags did not deploy. both me and my daughter still suffer from neck and back pain. *tr
Service airbag light comes on prematurely do not know if bags will deploy without an accident. i am not familiar with airbag system so i don't know what recourse i should take. 2006 chevy malibu. *tr
Driving 30 mph down a country road. drove over black ice started to fishtail. lost control of the vehicle going into three 360's. in the fourth 360 i hit a tree head on causing total damage to the front of the car. slid along a barbedwire fence for the back end to hit the tree again and wrapping the car around the tree. the tree then fell on top of the car. *tr
On may 1st 2009, while i was driving my 2006 chevy malibu on the highway, the airbags of the driver and passenger side were deployed. i was hit by the airbag and lost control of my vehicle. according to the other driver, i hit her car from the behind. i was blacked out at that moment and can't not recall the accident. luckily, neither of the cars did not have any obvious damage. i sent my car to chevy dealer and the chevy engineer diagnosed a malfunctioned sensor that mis-triggered the airbags and they fixed it for free. i do not file this complaint for compensation. i just want people to be aware of this problem because it could be very dangerous on the road. thank you very much your time! *tr

my 2006 chevy malibu ltz was totaled in a 3 car accident. no front or side air bags were deployed. the point of impact was front driver side and head on front end. my vehicle was towed from the scene of the accident and was totaled, so how can it be that no air bags were deployed? i have a report from gm that said that the air bags functioned as designed. makes no sense! please help! *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 chevrolet malibu. while making a left turn at 10 mph, a vehicle crashed into the driver side of the contact's vehicle. only the front air bags deployed and the vehicle was destroyed. there were no prior warnings before the air bags failed. the manufacturer stated that they were in the process of sending an investigator to inspect the vehicle. a police report was filed. the current and failure mileages were 17,000.
Our 2006 malibu ss was involved in a accident on hwy..traveling 60 mph driver overcorrection and the car went off the road, up an embankment rolled 5 times. ejected one of the occupants but never did the side air curtain airbags deploy. *tr
My 2006 chevrolet malibu's airbags did not function in two separate hard-hitting crashes. the car's engine light often comes on and stays on until i drive over a large bump in the road or slam on my brakes to give it a jolt. i also smell fuel periodically. the horn has not worked for many years. i took my car to a dealer once with the request to replace my ignition switch because it gets stuck intermittently, and they strangely refused to replace it because "it isn't malfunctioning for us." this was before the recalls became public. they did repair the "high tone" horn but it stopped working within a few months. i believe i have a dangerous vehicle.
Dt*: the contact stated while driving 70 mph a deer ran into the driver's side door bursting the window glass and collapsing the door onto the contact. brake pressure was applied and the vehicle skidded into a billboard, the right front of the vehicle was struck by a center wooden pole support for the billboard. the vehicle continued forward motion and struck a tree in the front center of the vehicle. the airbags did not deploy. although the contact was wearing a seat belt, minor injuries were sustained. the police were on the scene and a report was taken. the vehicle sustained extensive damage. the rental car company was alerted. a manufacturer representative inspected the vehicle, but the findings of that inspection were not shared. updated 5/11/2006 - *nm
