Driving on the highway and dash notification popped up that i needed to service my power steering, service my stabiltrac, service abs. i lost power (electric) steering and barely able to exit and park safely. i'm a small woman with not much strength and i could hardly turn my wheel with every bit of muscle. this is not safe! i could've been seriously injured or died along with other drivers/vehicles! this needs to be a complete recall!!!!
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet impala. the contact stated while driving 45 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. the power steering maintenance warning light was illuminated. upon investigation the contact associated the failure with nhtsa campaign number: 14v450000 (steering). the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. a dealer was not contacted. the manufacturer was informed of failure. the failure mileage was 65,000.
Power steering failed while driving. the rack has to be replaced. it's a $3,000 repair on a 5 year old car with less than 60,000 miles
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet impala. the contact stated that while driving, the instrument panel indicated the service traction control, engine reduce, and starting disable service throttle messages illuminated. the steering wheel ceased. the contact was able to coast to the side of the road and power off the engine. the contact waited for five minutes and was able to drive normal. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
Loss of power steering assist and a "service power steering" message. loss started upon start-up in morning and continued thru 25 mile commute to work. eight hours later condition was gone and all systems normal from start-up to return commute home. during loss of assist car was extremely difficult to steer.

I was driving my car and suddenly it flashed across the screen service stabilitrak, then service traction control system, then reduced engine speed. this caused my vehicle to slow way down out of no where from 70 to less than 30, and made steering near impossible. i have my two children i drove around and i'm afraid to even drive because if there's an accident with them in the car because my cars slowing unexpectedly someone will be paying for this. this is a huge safety issue and i see all over it is and it needs to be fixed!
Tl* the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet impala. the contact stated that the battery was drained due to an emergency warning light that remained illuminated after the vehicle was turned off. the emergency light by the radio system comes on and drains the vehicle's battery. the contact also stated that there was an abnormal clicking sound in the steering. the contact stated that the power steering became inoperable while attempting to park the vehicle. the dealer performance chevrolet (3222 beverly pike, elkins, wv 26241, (304) 591-1077) stated the diagnostic fee was $100 per hour. the manufacturer was not contacted. the failure mileage was 134,000. the vin was invalid.
Bought car about 6 months ago had 52,000 miles on it seemed to be a decent car until today dec 1, 2019 driving on the highway at about 70 miles an hour with ice covered roads power steering went out , and stabilitrak, a long with abs all at once and prompted service lights in dash and info screen power steering was so stiff i could barely turn or control car and almost slammed into median luckily not hitting another vehicle drove to nearest exit and turned car off turned back on after about 7 min and still same things in dash thankfully this didn't end worse my car can now barely steer and service lights are on going to try to see about talking to someone at dealership tommaro it seems a lot of people are having this problem with this car
