We have classified the 3 complaints from 2006 Chevrolet HHR about SEATS into the following categories.
I have had numerous problems first off my dash lights will flicker while driving sometimes the radio and dash won't work at all, backs of my driver and passenger seats have fallen off, both driver and passenger door handles are broke the drivers handle is completely broke off, also when it rains my passenger floor board fills up with water, my seats are so dirty looking cause something keeps bleeding through upholstery, ignition and shift lever had to be replaced today cause car wouldn't go into park and key wouldn't come out!! also the car used to slide when on a corner or rough road!! this is ridiculous!! the door handles is a safety hazard god for bid if i'm in a wreck or my car starts on fire i won't be able to get out of my car and i can't afford to have them fixed right now because i recently lost my job!! *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 chevrolet hhr. the contact stated that while decreasing speed to approximately 40 mph in a construction zone, another vehicle rear ended his vehicle. the driver side seat collapsed backward after the impact and none of the air bags deployed. his vehicle also ricocheted into a heavy truck as a result of the crash. there were no injuries. the contact had not spoken with the dealer or the manufacturer to-date. the vehicle had not been inspected or repaired at the time of the complaint. the current and failure mileages were approximately 11,000.
A lady ran a red light on springridge rd just south of jackson ms. wife was driving across springridge rd. the lady failed to yield and struck wife in drivers side totaling three cars in the process wife was severely injured (11 days in hospital) no airbag was deployed during accident. still working on full recovery. *tr updated 10/16/2017*js the consumer requested a status update and recall information. *js
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 chevrolet hhr. while driving 20 mph over a hole or dip in the road, the entire vehicle stalled and shut off. the weather was not a factor. the stalling occurred at least three times within one week. the vehicle cannot be restarted once it shut off. there were no warning indicators prior to the failure. the dealer does not know the cause of the failure or the remedy. the failure mileage was 53,000. the consumer stated the vehicle was having several issues with the cam sensor, wheels, a broken hub bearing, bent rotors and an issue with removing the key from the ignition, due to the shift cable not staying secured. the check engine light illuminated, the inside driver door handle would not open the door, the passenger side back would not stay secured. updated 06/25/08
While riding in the passenger seat of a 2006 chevrolet her for a period of about 2 hours i received 2nd degree burns to posterior. check of the seat by chevy dealer the next week reported no problem with the seat heater. it has been a month and i am still recovering from the burns and have had medical treatment twice weekly . i have ridding over 25,000 miles (mostly in the drivers seat) and the seat heaters have been on the biggest part of the time over the past year. but this two hour stint caused me severe burns. *nm
