The front of my vehicle was impacted by heavy snow/slush thrown from a snowplow moving westbound on a city street at an estimated speed of 40 mph. my vehicle was moving eastbound at about 35 mph. the front grill of my vehicle was damaged and the front bumper was pushed out of place. i think the airbag should have deployed?
Tl* the contact owned a 2005 chevrolet equinox. the contact stated that while driving 55 mph and turning on curve too fast, control of the vehicle was lost. the vehicle swerved left and right ultimately coming to a stop after crashing into a tree. the air bags failed to deploy. during the impact the contact head was hit on the windshield and abrasion to the knee were sustained. medical attention was not sought. a police report was filed. the vehicle was towed to a tow yard. the vehicle was destroyed. the dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 165,000.
We are having the same problems as so many equinox owners are with passenger side air bag seat sensor. this problem is a major safety issue. why wait for more people to be injured or worse and demand gm address this issue once and for all.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet equinox. while driving approximately 45 mph, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. while driving home, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 126,096.
The airbag sensor light comes on and off and after review of this info online there are so many complaints against this same issue not sure why no one will look into the recall needed for these airbags the dealer is saying it will 1200 to replace sensor light put in by manufacturer this is insane amount of money needed to keep people safe on the ride this is must have item in a car
I got into my car friday at 12:30 shut the door started it and the side airbag hit me shoved me sideways i turn the car off because i could smell the powder and i was afraid another one would go off. my arm around the elbow area hurts and my arm feels burned from about my armpit to my wrist. between my shoulder blades and my neck hurt and i've had a headache since. i depend on my car being on the ambulance and the deputy coroner for boise county i could be in my car during the day or in the middle of the night and i'm afraid now to drive it.
My airbag light and 'service air bag' light and abs light and stabalize track light were all on for a few week and i took it to local shop who said the sensor for the brakes under driver seat was bad so that cost $580.00 for new module. that took care of abs/stabilize lights. had to to go dealer for airbag lights and they charged $1070.00 because the airbag module under passenger seat was out and had to replace (part 560 plus labor). i don't feel like i should have had to pay for the airbags!! the airbag lights were on for about 6 months and never went off so i finally got tired of it...no matter if someone was sitting in seat or not, or whether it was idle, in motion, etc.
I was driving home from work.while making a turn my car was unable to brake. i slammed into a telephone pole which my airbags did not deploy. my car hit the pole a hard right. my head and neck was push forward extremely fast causing trauma.
The sensor for the passenger air bag is fault and has turned off the passenger air bag many times with my husband in the seat next to me with the vehicle in motion on city streets, highways, and interstates. i fear it will turn off and we will get into an accident putting his life in unnecessary danger. this has been a well reported incident to the manufacturer by many individuals and the 2007 model had a recall in place. there is no reason the 2008 model should not also have that recall.
