A code randomly appears on the dash while driving. it's says to service the power steering. when this pops up you lose power steering completely. if you are in a middle of a turn, you can lose control of your car. this has almost happened to me. this code will stay on the screen then randomly goes away and power steering returns. then all of a sudden the code will pop up when your driving and same result, no power steering. this is very dangerous when driving and this happens.
I was almost in a rollover accident on oct 7, 2019. i was travelling on state highways from auburn, pa to hershey, pa at apprx 930am. roads were damp/wet but rain had stopped. since i purchased my vehicle, i had always engaged all safety features including lane keep assist (lka), collision alerts, etc. this was main reason i upgraded from my 2014 equinox. on rt 183, heading up a winding mountain road, i almost lost control several times, despite driving well under speed limit. **note: my bf and i had previously complained to dealer, and even had it in for service, bc we both felt car pulled to the right on its own. we are both extremely safe, experienced, non-distracted drivers and thought something was quite odd/off. dealer found nothing. closer to hershey, i was coming around a bend in the road on i believe rt 743 when suddenly my car pulled me severely to the right and almost over an embankment, which would have led to a rollover crash and potential serious injury or death. by the grace of god, and great driving, i just missed a stone wall, and my ?1/4 mile swerving skid back and forth ping-ponged ...
Nhtsa reference #: 10081067 tsb reference #: g-205009 special coverage #: 14232a after the dealer replaced the parts on my vehicle, the steering wheel is still sticking and the dealer is requesting that additional part(s) from the steering wheel be replaced at my own expenses. i do believe that any additional parts required to make the vehicle safe should be at the manufacturer expenses. the troubleshooting was not done the right way in order to isolate the components.
Vehicle will stop while driving, sitting at light, and driveway.. i have to continue putting oil in every other day. power steering light came on, unable to start my vehicle or roll windows up. doesn't want to start now.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet equinox. while driving approximately 63 mph, the steering wheel turned to the right and seized without warning. the contact pulled the steering wheel forcibly to the left, causing the wheel to unlock itself and almost flip the vehicle over. the vehicle was taken to bradley hubler chevrolet (317-736-5141, located at 1550 n morton st, franklin, in 46131) where the computer system was reprogrammed. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered the contact a $100 rebate. the vehicle was repaired. the failure mileage was 77,922.
Power steering failed; lost power to control panel; in trying to steer vehicle around a curb i hit a tree and car rolled to side. all airbags inflated.
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chevrolet equinox. while driving approximately 35 mph, the contact noticed smoke emerging from the vents on the dashboard. afterwards, smoke started to emerge from the switch on the steering column. the vehicle was driven to the contact's residence. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 180,000.
I had my rear brakes replaced and then a week later the service stabilitrak light came on. i took it back to the dealership i got my brakes replaced at and the light went off and they didn't find anything wrong. the light went off and on intermittently for weeks and then finally turned off. next i started having problems getting the key out of the ignition after turning the car off. i would have to turn the car back on, put my foot on the brake, and turn it off again to get the key out sometimes several times in a row. now i drove my car and parked and everything was fine and then i turned it on a few hours later and the power steering failed. i took it to the dealership and they say the power steering control module is bad and needs to be replaced. my issues are the exact same as many other drivers have noted and my car is not part of a recall, but the power steering suddenly failing with no warning light months after the dealership said it was fine and replaced brakes seems odd. there is obviously a defect to ...
I purchased this car on 3/29/2019 and on 4/1/2019 found that the engine is suuseptable to excessive oil consumption causing engine to wear out and could stop running on the road making it a safety hazard. also that the steering causes resistance to steering when changing lanes causing a highway safety hazard. am i included in the class action lawsuit filed against general motors?
