The windshield wipers do full rotations but stop in the middle of the windshield

While riding on thee freeway in georgia yesterday the driver side wiper stopped. i turned thee wipers off and tried again after i pushed it back down. and now it's stopping a quarter of thee way. this car has been nothing but problems since i purchased it.

The windshield wipers would randomly stick half way up the windshield when turned on, and also happen as soon as i would turn the car on. was dangerous when driving in the rain because i could not see where i was going and had to pull over multiple times to clear the windshield.

While driving to work on a busy highway heading to danville va where the speed limit is around 55 to 60 mph during a wintry mix storm the driver side windshield wiper stopped working making it impossible to see. on various web sites this has been an ongoing issue with these vehicles. thus far upon my research there are various causes for this to occur but the one that i know its not in my case is that i have bad wipers.these wipers were just recently replaced.

Recently turned up the defogger on front windshield to warn car up and i heard a a loud vibrating sound and a humming noise coming from vents, my blower motor starts vibrating on anything after 3 for the level. today i was driving in the snow and used my wipers the driver side stopped mid way and was stuck. once i reached my destination i tried using the wipers again and the driver side did nothing. i got out and out it down tried once more and the driver wiper did not move.

While driving during a storm driver side windshield wiper stopped working. could not see at all while driving vehicle on highway.

On 12-7-2018, i started my car for the day. turned on the wipers. then went to turn them on again to rinse the rain off and the driver side blade was lifeless. had to have transmission replaced. totally unacceptable i've seen other complaints online and i think there should be a recall because it is a serious safety hazard to not have the driver side wiper blade operational. the car was stationary. but it was a rainy day and i had to drive to work with no wipers. by the grace of god my work is literally three minutes from home. and my son is a mechanic at a chevy dealership so i was able to have the problem fixed in a few days. but i'm sure there are quite a few people who are not so lucky that are stuck with this problem. i looked it up online and saw a 25 complaints other than mine and it happened to them while their car was in motion.

When driving my car never ends up heating up, this makes me choose between being able to see or being able to be warm. this is a major problem living in wisconsin and i am not able to heat my car up in the winter. the only way that a little heat will come out is if i've already drove 5+ miles and i keep my car above 3500 rpms. this is not acceptable and makes it a major safety hazard to drive in the winter. it will do this when stationary, in motion and whenever. this car does not heat up.

Today while driving in rain/snow mix my drivers side windshield wiper went left and hung up on the drivers window, pulled off the interstate and put it back on to the windshield and its lifeless, the passenger side is still operating fine, wiper blades were 2 months old so it has nothing to do with it. the car is at 82,000 miles and this is unacceptable! i proceeded to drive looking out the middle of the windshield just to get to my job, this is very dangerous and there should be a recall.

Driver side wiper malfunctions causing vehicle to have no wiper function on driver side. malfunction occurred at aprx 80k miles while parked with wipers on. wiper bushing fails causing linkage to unattach leaving wiper motionless. this is a severe safety issue caused by poor parts design/quality or installation.

While driving in light rain at roughly 40mph the drivers side wiper stopped working. passenger side wiper still works. upon researching it appears this is a widespread safety issue on these vehicles. there needs to be a safety recall as this could kill someone.

My vehicle was in motion, going about 50-60 mph. it stared down pouring rain. my driver side windshield wiper stopped working all of a sudden. it remained in the up position. since my safety was involved, i had to look out of the passenger side so i could see. i pulled over and tried to move it back into position, but it had zero tension and just freely moved. my safety was jeopardized and now i have to goto the dealership and pay out of pocket. i would like to be reimbursed! this is crazy.

Wiper on passenger side just stopped. took to the shop and they said wiper transmission however the problem is so widespread that everyone including gm are out of the part. a 'spat' request would be sent to try to obtain the part nationwide. no reason why this should happen on a newer vehicle. luckily it was the passenger side.

While driving to school in the pouring rain, my driver side wiper stopped working. i drove thirty minutes in a storm on the highway, leaning across my car to see out the windshield.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet cruze. while driving, the contact attempted to defrost the front windshield.; however, the windshield wipers became inoperable and malfunctioned. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the windshield wiper motor needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the dealer was not contacted. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 64,000.

Thin, weak plastic used for gears on a/c air distributor lever. see part #53 in the attached partsdiagram.jpg for reference. this lever is located inside the dash, and is used to divert airflow to windshield/defrost. cold weather causes this plasic to break when attempting to engage windshield/defrost airflow. this makes it impossible to get warm or dehumidified air to the windshield, which causes ice or fog to build up and results in unsafely diminished visibility. issue occurred while vehicle was stationary and idling to allow windshield to defrost. airflow was adjusted to blow to the windshield, and the distributor lever broke as the gear teeth engaged. see attached brokenlever.jpg for reference. vehicle was approximately 3 years old at the time of the break. this part directly affects visibility in cold or humid weather, and should be more robust considering much of its function is to be used in cold temperatures. it is a very common point of failure and makes the vehicle unsafe to operate when broken. cost of labor for replacing is prohibitively expensive due to its location inside the dash, behind the instrument panel.

While driving the left (drive side) wiper stopped working. right (passenger side) continued to work without issue. after looking into the issue i found that the arm connecting the motor to the wipe arm broke from the ball join. i believe this piece is called the wiper transmission.

My drive said windshield wiper stopped working as i was driving to work in the pouring rain. i had to put on my hazards and drive slowly to find a parking lot. very dangerous.

I was driving to work this morning and my driver's side windshield wiper stopped worker in the pouring rain and it was dark outside, i was doing 45 and couldn't see. i had to put on my hazards slow down and find a parking lot to pull into. i missed work, and had to wait for daylight, and drive slow so i could make it home.

Driver side wiper completely stopped working for no reason on a rainy day while driving

While driving through thick fog, i turned the whipers on to wipe away sweet from the window. the drivers side wiper went up, and just stuck there. i pulled over and was able to lower the blade, but that wiper will not work.

At around 4,800 mi my front passenger window was rolled down and upon trying to roll up, it failed to do so. about 1 week later, the front driver side window did the exact same thing. i was able to pull both windows up in the closed position. during common freeway drive the regular shaking causes the windows to open slightly, this is not the issue. however, during one specific drive, the driver window slipped out of the rear weatherstripping and the top rear corner of the window was protruding up and out. the concern of my drivers' window glass flying out was scary and i had to hold it in place with one hand and drive with the other until it was safe to pull over and try to place it back in. if i were to leave the windows down, it significantly raises the possibly of theft. i feel this is a good concern to report as i was afraid for my safety and the safety of others on the road.

Driverside wiper stopped working

My passenger side wiper just quit working and now 75 miles later my drivers side isn't working.

2014 chevrolet cruze clean diesel. car defroster/defogger does not adequately defog windows during rainy and/or humid outside conditions. condition persists despite of setting selection of- temperature, fan speed, or where air is coming from (re circulation or outside). additionally; high levels of moisture, often in the form water droplets or fog, is visible coming out of vents and resting on inside of windshield, other windows, and other interior surfaces. under many circumstances, only remedy was to stop vehicle and wipe away moisture off of inside windows to achieve visibly of roadway.

Cold air blows on windshield from a/c and foggs up glass wich obstructs view.the controls are set properly but defroster vent does not close completely. dealer says there is no fix for the problem.this happens when standing or driving.

driving at highway speed in light rain resulted in a "carwash effect" on my windshield. drops did not run but splattered in a manner which completely obscured visibility of the road. i was driving blind, regardless of wiper speed, in very light rain. is there research showing windshield angle as the cause of such a problem? this has occurred a second time in light rain.

Front windshield with condensation and in pare the visibility. it only goes away with the wipers and the heater. the answer that we got from gm is that living in texas , the humidity is the main factor and that the vehicle was operating as design. while driving, we had to put the heater and the windshield wipers for about 10 minutes.

While driving the vehicle on the highway at 68mph with no traffic alongside nor in front of me the sunroof glass shattered voluntarily causing small shards of glass to fall into my face and clothing as well as outside the top of the vehicle. the sun shade was open and the glass on closed on the roof and not vented. there was no chance of road debris hitting the closed sunroof nor was there an overpass from anything to fall off from to make impact. the glass exploded and spider-webbed the entire sunroof.

It was raining, and approximately 40 degrees as indicated by the car thermometer. i was driving and the windshield wipers were going and clearing the rain per normal operation. suddenly the drivers side wiper only went up about one-quarter of the way of normal and the passenger side went clear over the stuck drivers side wiper. despite all attempts to fix it at the closest gas station i couldn't find out where the problem occurred, but i did see that the passenger side could not go up and down by pulling it manually, but the drivers side would freely go up and down just by moving it manually. i couldn't see much of anything after that, but got the car home. *tr

Windshield fogged up and i could not see. defroster and heating windshield did not clear the window so i could see out, and i had to stop because i could not see out forward at all. dealer checked the condition and of course, could not duplicate! there is a fix on the chevrolet cruze forum but i do not want to attempt to do it myself! something must be done about this or i will be forced to 'lemon-law' this car and i do not want to be forced to do that! it is that dangerious and i know it can be corrected if the proper tsb is issued describing fix as listed by a person on the forum mentioned above.

The vehicle side windows and outer edges of the windshield would fog up and the defroster/defogger would not clear the condition. the colder it was outside and the further i drove the vehicle the worse it got. this happened on multiple occasions before the dealer finally mostly corrected it.i say mostly because the vehicle still is quite slow to defog the windows in very cold conditions. it is much better but still not what i would consider optimal. *tr
