When you are coming to a stop either at a stop light, sign, or yielding off the interstate. the car begins to idle very hard shaking the entire vehicle back and forth. then it shuts off while the ignition is still running. you literally have to put the car back in park, turn if off then turn it back on to fix the problem. i still do not have a engine light showing there is something wrong with the car. but it is happening more and more.

Heater not working blowing cold air error on dash "a/c off due to engine high temperature" <multiple recalls for heating issues - need help

The car has started starting and shutting off on its own. it's very dangerous since it stated doing this in my attached garage while i slept. my wife is scared of carbon monoxide poisoning. i also fear pumping gas could be dangerous if it started while doing so. i've read online it's very common on the cruze. i contact gm and they aren't covering it without a recall.

The vehicle's radio flashes on and off and a 'service stabilitrak' warning comes on the odometer screen. i have read this causes serious issues with others that have had the same problem and there is no known fix.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet cruze. the contact stated that the side detection system went completely out. also, when it rained, water entered the module located underneath the vehicle, which caused the electrical system to not function correctly. southfield chrysler dodge jeep ram (28100 telegraph rd, southfield, mi 48034, (248) 354-2950) informed the contact that the vehicle's warranty had expired. no further assistance was provided. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing or repair. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. the failure mileage was approximately 38,000.

A warning light came on for the airbag randomly. it evolved to the following issues: radio control panel going out with no volume control besides the steering wheel, static on the radio, a warning that park assist needed to be serviced (vehicle does not have park assist), headlights would not turn off upon the vehicle being turned off. the "solution" as there were so many errors that randomly started popping up (mind you, my car was serviced less than a month ago) is a $1500 change of a sensor or unplug the backup camera permanently. this clearly is a manufacturer defect, as why all of a sudden would the car suddenly think i have features that i don't even have on the car.

Key gets stuck in the ignition. battery is not dead. if the key is turned fast you may remove it from the tumbler but if it is turn towards the off position slowly the locking mechanism returns to the retracted stage and won't allow the key to be removed. i can manually remove the key by pulling the lock mechanism forward while turning the key to the off position.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet cruze. the contact stated that the service engine and service stability traction control warning indicators kept illuminating. the dealer (tim short chevrolet, 500 thompson hollow, williamson, ky 41503, (606) 237-1220) who sold the vehicle was made aware that the failure had progressed within a week of ownership; however, no diagnostic testing was provided. the vehicle was not diagnosed by a dealer or an independent mechanic. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that there was no recall. the manufacturer advised that the vehicle be taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. the failure mileage was not available.

It started with the radio turning off while braking and the radio continued to go off and on i contacted gm who claims it's not an electrical defect? first issue the car can be off keys out of ignition and you can press the on button for the radio and it plays? now it's starting to drive funny and most recently it starts with the remote start every time but when i use the key it doesn't always start? this is a huge issue!

Radio shuts off intermittently and the stability track warning comes on. radio will resume and warning will go away within a second or two. generally can be rectified by shutting the car off and turning it back on.

The power stopped and the car coasted then started again. the radio went off lost power then came back on. we have stopped using the radio. we are afraid we will lose power in traffic and have a accident. we were driving down a country road going about 25 to 30 mph

Vehicle has been popping up service stabil trak - however dealership and onstar has ran diagnostics no codes populate- have experience radio shutting off and losing control of vehicle - there has been several articles about this issue with 2011-2015 chevy cruze. afraid whatever this issue is will cause harm to other people this is not a single person issue everyone with this model is complaining about the service stabil trak this needs to be look into. driving in motion turning corner losing control of steering for a brief second - power radios shutting off and dashboard blinks with all lights. this car is at 67k miles

Tl* the contact owned a 2014 chevrolet cruze. while the vehicle was stationary, it caught fire. while driving various low speeds, the air conditioner shut off without warning. when the contact turned the air conditioner back on, smoke entered into the cabin. the contact turned off the vehicle and opened the hood, but there was no smoke. upon closing the hood, the cabin of the vehicle completely filled with smoke and the contact noticed a flame that ignited under the dashboard to the right of the accelerator pedal. the contact called the police and filed a police report. the fire department extinguished the fire. the interior of the vehicle was destroyed. xchange leasing, an uber company, was contacted about the fire and referred the contact to her insurance company. a dealer was not contacted. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue and requested that the vehicle be inspected by a third party. the failure mileage was 27,500.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet cruze. on several occasions, the contact found that the fuel gauge displayed the incorrect fuel information. the contact ran out of fuel twice due to the issue. the contact stated that it took 48 hours before the gauge was accurate. the vehicle was taken to west herr chevrolet of williamsville (located at 8040 transit rd, williamsville, ny 14221 (716) 406-6151) where it was diagnosed, but the failure could not be replicated. the dealer stated that the vehicle needed fuel. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 40,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet cruze. while driving 70 mph, the steering wheel required excessive force to turn and the power steering warning indicator illuminated. the contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road, turned off the vehicle, restarted the engine, and the vehicle returned to normal. the vehicle was taken to the dealer (performance chevrolet, 3222 beverly pike, elkins, wv 26241), but the cause of the failure could not be diagnosed. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure recurred several other times. the vehicle was taken to the same dealer again where it was diagnosed that the negative battery wire needed to be tightened. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken to the same dealer the third time where it was diagnosed that the battery needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure still recurred. the manufacturer was contacted and stated that they would call the contact back, but the contact did not receive any calls. the approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

While driving multiple times the "service power steering" message appeared on the dash. the steering wheel became tight and as i turned the car jerked outward almost causing me to hit other vehicle. also the message "open, then close driver window" appears frequently. the radio and speedometer flickers on and off at times. i believe that there is an electrical issue but the the specific area is unknown. another incident occurred that caused the car not to start on 7/172017

While driving on the highway, all the power went off and the steering seized for a short period and then came back on and reset itself. this happened twice within 30 minutes. this also occurred when backing out of a driveway where all power was lost and the steering wheel seized until it came back on and reset itself. this is a very serious safety issue where lives are at stake and find it appauling that gm has not issued a recall for this problem but rather issuing a service bulletin? these complaints are all over the internet . . . obviously this is a critical issue for many consumers.

No crank or start 13 body control module codes, control module bad or wiring short.

The electrical screen portion of the car randomly shuts off and blinks back on. for example, when i'm utilizing the screen gps. the entire screen will turn off with no warning. it appears to reset itself. as the screen turns back on with the "chevy" home screen. it happens both when the vehicle is stationary (ie. just turned on,) as well as when i am in motion. this issue has been happening for over a year, but has recently become more frequent- happening at least once a week.

My wife had come back from a dr. appt. approx. 52 miles away from her place of employment on monday 5/15/17 at approx. 1:15pm. as she approached her employment, she made a left turn on a side street that separates two auto dealerships, where employees park on the side of the street. she noticed an empty parking spot on the opposite side of the street and decided to make a u-turn to park there. as she slowed down to attempt the u-turn, she made a slight left to begin the u-turn and at that moment all the vehicle's warning lights on the dash lit up, the message center screen located at the center of the cluster on the dash read "stabilink system disabled" and had lost all power steering. upon losing steering, the steering wheel snapped back and broke her wrist in two places. the loss of steering resulted in our vehicle slightly impacting the vehicle parked to her immediate right. i (her husband) arrived literally minutes after the loss occurred, triaged her arm and needed to move the vehicle out of the street. upon entering the vehicle, it was still running and had noticed all the dash and vehicle warning lights on, including the "stabilink disabled" message on the dash. as i began to drive it approx. 20 yards to an empty parking space, the vehicle had no power steering yet it was running. approx. 9 hours later, i had gone back to the vehicle to attempt to drive it to a local body shop to store it and upon starting the vehicle, all systems were running again, no warning lights were present on the dash and the power steering had been restored. i attempted to find any indication of a problem thru the message center without success. i filed an insurance claim on approx. 5/19, had the vehicle preserved for evidence and is now currently stored and not moved at the body shop. as of 6/15, injury sciences llc is scheduled to plug into the ecu or data event recorder.

Car electrical system problem 3 failure date: 05/09/2017 the radio dashboard powers on and off (frequently at times). it appeared to happen more when the car was stopped at red light. it didn't occur often when the car was on the highway on cruise control. twice when this happened, the main dashboard would display the following statement: "service stabilitrak" this begin happening on january 29, 2017, and it has happened daily (at least once) since.

Trunk opens on its own.... the remotes are on the table.. it just started doing it today and has done it 3 times in the past 3 hrs.

All of the sudden, all dash lights become on and off then shot off car completely. then have trouble to start car with no power whatsoever.

The battery began intermittently dying after recall service. car was taken back in & i was advised that the battery required replacement. it's 3 years old...

The car turns off while i am driving, no matter where i have had it turn off on the expressway and street while in drive and at times it the rpm idles while im at the stop like and parked. i have contacted chevy but they didn't want to honor the powertrain warranty and i was not to told not to come back to ron craft chevy. so i took it to miller auto body and repair, here in houston, they recommend that i replace the engine cover i did out of my own pocket even though its was supposed to be honored at the chevy dealership under powertrain. i still continue to drive the car but it still losses power and turns off while im driving. last night the battery died, i replaced it with a new today but the car still shuts down and stops while i'm driving. i don't know what to do and why this is happening and why chevy isn't honoring the powertrain warranty on the faulty engine components, the stability track stays and the check engine lights stays on and a traction lights stays on. i have done regular maintenance on this car every since i bought it, every maintenance inspections were all done by chevy, i just don't under stand why they play dumb when honoring my powertrain warranty. *tr

Electrical. head lights go off for no reason stay off for about 5 min come back on car doesn't shut off or go dead

My car has died 2 separate times while sitting for multiple days without driving (battery will go to 0). 2 other times, i have been driving, and my car will completely shut down. my battery goes from 14.5-0 in a matter of seconds. it feels like someone slams on my emergency brake while i am driving. it is incredibly dangerous. i then always have to have my vehicle towed back to my dealership to be worked on.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet cruze. while driving 70 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. on another occasion, there was an abnormal clicking noise and the vehicle stalled. the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure or retrieve a fault code. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 54,000. the vin was not available.

Loss of electrical power to instrument cluster and radio and power steering. it can happen when moving or standing still or turning.

For the atleast 5 months my car has been stuggling to accelerate when coming from a stop or driving on both city streets and highways. also my radio would go out for some reason while driving on city streets.

Yabba dabba doo is what you'll be saying after you attempt to flintstone this hunk of junk from gm. such a waste of metal. i'd love to see someone from corporate attempt to take their family who is recently paralyzed & a 13 yr old whose had 4 open heart surgeries try to pedal off the freeway bc it shut off & on while overheating & trying to pry the key out the ignitiin. i've towed it to and from the dealership to spend money i practically counted in change because i lost my job due to no dependable ride. still paying notes on a car & mechanic fees has truly shown me how selfish & greedy some can be. i'm passed to the next person who keeps me on hold to inform me of how truly sorry they are that they can't help. apparently gm feels it's safe so how about come save me from this headache, i'll gladly let you test drive. my favorite song is "every light in the car is in"

Soon after purchase in 2014, my cruze turbo diesel started having many different errors showing on the dash display anywhere from traction control, power steering, and others. after many attempts through local dealers, gm sent a technician to me and repaired that issue. now there has been many issues with the car flashing issues on the dash about diesel exhaust fluid poor, particulate filter full need regen, and finally power decreased, which i did not have hardly any acceleration. i followed every procedure the owners manual and car told me to do, and still did not regenerate the particulate filter. the dealer had to force a regeneration on the filter and order a def heater. it seems that there is many electrical issues with this car and once one is repaired, another one appears. other than the electrical / computer issues which is unpredictable, it is a great car since we purchased it new.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet cruze. the contact stated that while driving at 25 mph and while coming into a turn, the vehicle stalled. the contact also stated, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. the vehicle was taken to a dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 40,000.

My cars power steering went out while i was driving for short bursts. i took it to the dealership and they said that the power cables to the battery went bad but that it isn't covered under warranty. this car is only two years old. this caused me to have a small accident because the power steering went out while i was driving and attempting to make a turn.

I was at a stop light and had "reduced engine power," "service stabilitrak," come on and the radio went dead and the dash lights went dead too. i am really concerned about this happening on the highway at speed.

The power to the radio screen constantly cuts out. many times the screen gets stuck in the back up camera mode. it is very distracting. it happens in park and while the vehicle is in motion.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet cruze. the contact stated that the service power steering and service vehicle stability trac warning lights illuminated intermittently, and the radio functions failed intermittently also. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 61,000.

Car randomly will shutoff/jerk and restart, similar to turning off the key and turning it back on immediately. all of the dash lights came on and went off, the radio restarted and froze. vehicle lost power electrically and the engine shutoff for a split second. vehicle has electric power steering that quit, due to loss of vehicle power. this occurred while coming to a stop at a stop light, almost stopped.

2014 chevrolet cruze. consumer writes in regards to transmission shift problems. *smd the consumer stated it took a while, before the gears shifted properly. also, at times, there was a smell of gas and coolant. the battery cables were corroded. *jb

My cruze diesel around 30k miles, had an electrical issue which resulted in the dealership replacing the radio and other electrical nodes. around 40k miles the battery and alternator went bad. none of which were covered by the dealership so i had to pay for it myself. since 45k miles, the car has randomly popped up a message saying the engine power is reduced. i travel to large urban areas and this has happened to me in the worst of situations and i am lucky to be alive due to this issue. this now comes on often and is not covered by the chevy dealership i went to. i just purchased this car in 2014. seriously considering the lemon law

Driving down a road on the friday morning. when a deer popped up in front of me. i hit the deer on cruise control going 70 mph; but was hard braking to avoid the deer. the vehicle clipped the deer on the front left side of the car by the hood. the airbags did not deploy, meaning it wasn't even a big impact. so i pulled over to call authorities when the car began to smoke. shortly after, estimated two minutes, the vehicle caught fire. the fire begin on the front left side of where the battery was located. it completely burned down the car. not sure how hitting a deer, would not set off the air bags and also start a fire. luckily i was able to make it out with no injuries.

2014 chevrolet cruze. consumer writes in regards to ignition key problems. *smd the consumer stated a few days after the vehicle was purchased the ignition switch turned off by itself while merging onto the highway. the consumer stated her husband's ring was holding many keys and it appeared that one became wedged on the steering column. *jb

The car was cranked with remote start, child was put in the car, front door was closed by the wind with keys in the car, actually two sets of keys with a key for the vehicle on the sets, and all of the doors locked not recognizing these keys with the car cranked and the a child in the car. this is a safety hazard and defect for certain that needs to be fixed immediately. *js

3rd time since purchasing in march 2014 that heater and or air conditioning has stopped working. was told first 2 times that it was the motor and sensor, those were replaced now while making yet another road trip 4 hours from our home with our child the heat went out. heater will not blow warm air or any air for that matter and defrosted will not work resulting in us stopping every few miles to manually wipe the windshield down. *tr
