We have classified the 172 complaints from 2012 Chevrolet Cruze about ELECTRICAL SYSTEM into the following categories.
I noticed my car wasn't beeping when i tried to lock it. i tried to start my car and it completely shut down. i managed to get my hood open and disconnected the battery cables. it was fine for a few weeks then the "check stabilitrack" went off and my car shut down. i made it to my destination and it shut down completely. i tried to disconnect it and even that didn't work. upon further investigation many had had this issue and it's not the stabilitrak its apparently the ground cable to the battery (black cable). my car will work but will occasionally completely reset the system so trying to save the time or date is pointless. i want this investigated!
The car will not turn off when the key is turned off and removed. it will just sit there and run until it decides to quit on it's own. i would really hate to have to shut it down in an emergency and not be able to. that could get someone seriously hurt or killed! also, the vapor canister vent/purge vent valve is defective. this seems to be a common problem with this model car and if that is the case, there should be a recall.
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 chevrolet cruze. while driving 10 mph, the stabilitrac warning light illuminated, the power steering failed, and the instrument panel and radio lost power. the vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed or repaired. the contact stated that the failure recurred three times. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
The turn signals quit working intermittent, radio display goes out like it is switched off , digital speedometer changes settings, these conditions occur when vehicle is driven. the service theft deterrent system comes on when vehicle is parked.
Recall 14311 but dealer does not do anything about it,my car have done this few times already but last couple of times it was really scary because i lost total control over the vehicle including steering and braking the car just show a sing on the dash and radio goes of as well as the rest of the vehicle electrical parts, almost causing a crash due to this issue, i was driving about 35mph and 40mph when this happen, also i notice the it happens when i use my turn signals and when i press up or down on the windows
I just purchased my 2012 chevy cruze 3 months ago, it has 36,000 miles. last week when i started off to work i got a reduced engine power message and the car would not accelerate. i read the manuel and followed the instructions, turned off the car, waited and restarted, but it still would not accelerate. i checked online for reported problems with the car and found that many people have had the same issue. i called the dealership and was told i could take the car in but would have to pay for any repairs because there was no recall on this problem. a few days later i started the car and it seemed fine so i tried driving it. it was fine for the first 15 minutes but then the reduced engine power light came on again and the car would not accelerate once again. i had to pull off to the side of the road, turn off the car and wait several minutes to be able to drive a short distance before the problem happened again. thank god i was not on the highway when this happened or i could have been in a terrible accident. i can not believe that with so many owners reporting the same problem there has not been a recall. also it appears the manufacturer was aware of the problem from the beginning because in the owners manuel they tell you what to do if this should happen.
On several occasions my vehicle has lost power steering service. i have almost crashed into a metro rail and into another vehicle because i am unable to turn my wheel. on another occasion, i was about to park and the car turned off on me; the key was locked into the ignition and i couldn't turn it, the doors locked and nothing worked. i was stuck inside until after about 5 minutes, the car unlocked everything and the ecu turned back on. i've had to take it to the dealership twice for this problem and they have told me it's covered under a "special service" but these incidents happened almost a year apart. i do not believe the car is fixed. also, the service stabilitrak and other lights flash on and off and so do my radio.
While driving the power steering shuts off, radio blinks on and off, and the brakes get spongy making it hard to drive and stop. i have had it in the shop and the mechanics were unable to find an problem.
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 chevrolet cruze. while driving at an unknown speed, the power steering warning lights illuminated and the headlamps turned off without warning. the contact experienced several electrical issues with the vehicle, including the key failing to dislodge from the ignition switch. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 58,000.
Ac off due to high temp, thermostat replaced 2014. ac off due to high temp again, thermostat replaced may 20, 2015.. dec 27th, 2015 ac off due to high temp again- car overheated in 10 degre weather. thermostat being replaced for the third time!! *js
My radio flickers on and off, my abs llight, check engine light and other lights flicker off and on real fast and on my odometer i get a reading "traction control" and something about stabilitrak control. everything flickers so fast it's hard to see everything that lights up. apparently many others have had the exact same issues.
Driving the radio cuts in and out meanwhile service stabilitrac warning comes on. does this around 6-12 times in a 30 minute drive to and from work. on a few instances the vehicle lost all power while driving. this occures on a daily basis. this happens while driving and at a stand still. also the check engine light has come on numerous times. it is a p0597 code stating temp sensor is inoperable. non of these issues should be going on in a 2012 with less than 45,000 miles on it.
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 chevrolet cruze. while driving 65 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was able to be restarted. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired and the failure recurred. the failure mileage was 37,000.
While driving the electrical functions such as radio and instrument panel will start to flash on and off with the radio display rebooting at intermittent times, and sometimes constantly. power has on occasion been lost completely while driving. sometimes the symptoms are only the radio and console below it losing power, but when it gets really frequent, a couple of the instrument warning lights regarding abs and another one i cannot remember off hand flash, and the stabilitrac warning is displaying "service traction control". this can last for 5 minutes or as long as a day or more. i noticed on at least two occasions, the problems started on very humid days at both early morning and evening time frames, and necessarily while driving in rain. when problem gets extremely bad, i usually pull over somewhere and take off the "negative" battery cable for about 20 seconds using a wrench i must carry in the vehicle, forcing the control module of the vehicle to reset. this temporarily fixes the problem for an undetermined amount of time. the vehicle was brought to the chevy dealer and they claimed they couldn't find anything nor have they ever heard of the problem. this problem occurs while vehicle is moving or stationery. this problem also occurs on expressways or city streets. this problem has occured in multiple states(north carolina along the coast and in chicago area. this problem has been ongoing for at least two years . the last time was on sept. 30, 2015. i do have videos that i captured with my phone but it doesn't appear that your website can support them.
My 2012 chevrolet cruze starting in september this year 2015 the car had 75,000 miles on it when it started with the dash lights, fan, radio and display all randomly shutting off and turning on. sometimes when this happens the stabilitrack display will come on and this can happen at anytime but usually when the car is going slow or stopped, i first noticed it when applying the breaks. this however is not the extent of it as now when i shut the car off it has kept my keys and would not start either. eventually when this has happened fortunately it came back to life and displayed a theft protection display. i called the local gm dealer who services my car and i was told they have never heard of such a problem however when i go online there are dozens if not hundreds of complaints related directly to these type of issues with the chevrolet cruze. i also posted a complaint on a car website to try to help communicate this issue with other chevrolet cruze owners who have the same or similar issues.
For the whole month the red warning lights have been flashing, today the lights were dimming and radio was going on and off. the steering wheel locked on its own and the key wouldn't come out when tried to remove and the truck wouldn't pop up when tried to open it from the outside. vehicle is not cranking at moment and key is still in ignition. this is a serious safety problem or issue. electrical problem hazard that could kill any driver or passengers when driving. has to be as major safety recall. contact the owner as soon as possible at [xxx] this is my daughter [xxx] cell number and i am her dad [xxx] at [xxx]. please is there a recall on vehicle? my daughter drives this car to college classes every day. please advice asap. her life is in danger here. james and pamela are the owners but daughter drives vehicle to college. i am biological father and very concerned. due to mother and stepfather at wife's surgery please notify me of matter to get help. parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).*cc
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 chevrolet cruze. the contact stated that after starting the vehicle and shifting into reverse, the vehicle drifted and accelerated independently, causing the contact to crash into another vehicle. the contact shifted into drive and crashed into the garage and the toolshed from their residence. a police report was filed. there was one injury reported that required medical attention. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 23,300.
The main console in the car starting turning on and off, the lights doing this as well. it affected the turn signals when i was making a turn, making them turn on and off as well. turned off headlights as well, while i was on my way home. once i got home i turned off the car and restarted it, and the whole system rebooted and i had to fix the date and time. this happened again when i used the auto-start on the key fob, drove a little bit as the console kept turning on and off, pulled over and tried to restart car. couldn't remove the key from ignition, eventually got car to restart after trying to restart it for about fifteen minutes. the next day the same thing happened, so i parked the car and turned it off and tried to restart it again. wouldn't start and the key would not come out of ignition for at least forty-five minutes. finally got the car to start and drove home. when i got home, turned car off but could not get the key out of ignition. sat for another fifteen minutes trying to get key free. eventually able to remove, restart and turn car off normally. but after locking the car, and then coming back to get things out of car, the doors would not unlock and i cannot get into the vehicle.
Purchased car new for my daughter going to college. car has been good but she called me that she started her car in a parking lot and she had a stabilitrac light, power steering, and tones going off. she was scared but i called a repair shop and they suggested to turn off and on. she did this and all but stabilitrac went off. she drove to take to dealer. she stopped to get gas and when turned car back on, all lights stopped. she drove car home and took to local repair. he said he could not find issue. a week later, she was driving on the interstate and the lights came on again. she video taped the lights. she pulled off and turned car off and then on and everything was reset. we are concerned that error cant be tracted but continues to be issue.
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 chevrolet cruze. while driving at approximately 45 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning and lost all electrical power. the vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the electronic control module came in contact with water and failed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 108,000.
My chevy cruze has been experiencing similar problems from past repairs and would shut off while driving. while driving the car would lose power, multiple warning lights would flash on the dash, the car would lose the ability to accelerate and the doors would unlock while driving. this has occurred several times yesterday (6/23/15): while driving over a bump at a low speed and while merging onto the freeway at about 60mph. during yesterday's incident i had to go into the emergency lane and put my emergency lights on as my car lost the ability to accelerate. the car lost power for a few seconds and the car would gain power immediately after. there have been two prior incidents where my car has lost complete power while driving, both times a safety report has been filed. this is a very scary issue and hope that this does not occur again.
Since march 30, 2015, i have been experiencing issues with and have been trying to collect video evidence while in failure mode, of what i believe to be failures of the body computer(s) in this vehicle. the dashboard displays have been going on and off under a wide variety of driving situations, and while sitting at idle. they fault when the vehicle is simply driving down the highway. during these faults, the center information display for the hvac and entertainment will frequently turn off. this kills the radio. it at times kills the hvac systems and the turn signals (at least the noise for the turn signal indicators). at times, the center display above the steering column will go black and then display a message about the stabilitrak having failed and requiring it to be checked. then it returns to normal mode. this is less frequent an occurrence. while driving on the highway under cruise control, the vehicle experienced one incident of unintended acceleration while the displays were in fault modes. this occurred on april 1, 2015 i believe. the driver's feet were on the floorboards. not touching any pedals at all. the incident was stopped by the driver firmly pressing down on the brake pedal. when sufficient video evidence is accumulated on these failures the vehicle will be taken into the dealership. lacking actual demonstrative evidence of the failures, the dealership will not be able to know what to repair or replace. the car has a history of dash display issues. the owner, a retired librarian/researcher from general motors advanced engineering staff and the r&d center, has worked on unintended acceleration legal cases for the company, and has supported litigation defense work on such issues while at the company. he is still gathering evidence but feels the need to document this incident as soon as possible for nhtsa should an accident occur to him due to this. *tr
I was driving, and the radio dash began to flash on and off. then the steering became very difficult, and the power steering light came on, the words "service power steering" came on, then the car began to pulse, and then "service traction" came on, then the car shut off completely. *tr
Since march 2015, i have been experiencing issues with and i have video evidence while in failure mode, of what i believe to be failures of the body computer(s) in this vehicle. the dashboard displays have been going on and off under a wide variety of driving situations, and while sitting at idle. they fault when the vehicle is simply driving down the highway. more often i notice it when utilizing turn signals, hazard lights, and breaking. during these faults, the center information display for the hvac and entertainment will frequently turn off. this kills the radio. it at times kills the hvac systems and the turn signals (at least the noise for the turn signal indicators). at times, the center display above the steering column will go black and then display a message about the stabilitrak having failed and requiring it to be checked or the abs needing to be serviced. then it returns to normal mode. the frequency has increased to every time i drive the vehicle. also on at least 3 occasions the abs has actually failed. on one of those occasions, i hit another vehicle while parking. thankfully there was no damage to either vehicle. when connecting the vehicle to a diagnostic device, no issues are indicated. i'm in the military in germany where the roads and highways are extremely hilly and it snows heavily. i'd rather not die in an accident before this issue is rectified.
While driving approx. 40 mph, vehicle stalled, traction stability and check engine lights illuminated, and steering locked. the radio shut off and the radio screen/ env control panel flickered on and off continuously. i continued to drive the car since i was a short distance from home. checked the battery connections and all seemed to be tight. drove car to work today but didn't have the issue. i literally just bought this car a week ago and it passed md state inspection. i am wondering now if the inspection included a obd check. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 chevrolet cruze. the contact stated that the check engine light continued to illuminate. the vehicle was taken to the dealer. the technician diagnosed that the map sensor was defective and needed to be replaced. the contact mentioned that the vehicle failed to pass inspection. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 66,000. updated 4/30/15*cn the consumer stated the vehicle did not idle properly and the vehicle would stall when he attempted to pull out into traffic. updated 06/23/15*jb
While driving the car would continuously reboot the radio and the warning stabilitrak light as well as the power steering warning will show up on the dash. the car would experience very stiff steering and i almost got into a crash 3 times because of it. i took it to the autonation chevrolet laurel, md dealership and they could not diagnose a problem with the battery. another technician from tnt auto in columbia, md said that all the wires seem to be on there tight too. *tr
2012 chevy cruze 6-speed eco. after driving approx 15 mile in city traffic, came to a stop and parked. applied the parking brake and the car started beeping. i looked at the instrument panel and noticed speedometer was pegging at around 90mph and the display flashed that the hand brake was on. at the same time the radio volume raised. after i released the parking brake, within a few seconds the gauge returned to normal but the radio volume stayed high. i turned the car off. *js
The car computer system is glitching. turning on and off. says to service stability trak. i have not messed this car up or been in any wrecks. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 chevrolet cruze. the contact stated that while in a residential driveway, the vehicle caught on fire without warning. the vehicle was destroyed. it was unknown if a fire or police report was filed. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure was 42,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 chevrolet cruze. while driving approximately 30 mph, the radio shut off when the heat was activated. the contact also stated that the key fob failed to lock and unlock the doors. when the vehicle was in the park position, the stability track and traction control lights illuminated. the failures occurred numerous times. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failures. the approximate failure mileage was 51,500.
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 chevrolet cruze. the contact stated while exiting a freeway at 30 mph, a loud clunk noise emitted as the vehicle failed to accelerate. after safely parking, the contact noticed that the check engine, service air bag, service power steering and emergency brake lights illuminated on the instrument panel. also, the contact mentioned that all other electrical components such as door locks, hazard lights, and windows failed to work as well. the vehicle was towed to the dealer. the technician stated that the wiring to the power box had to be rewired. the vehicle was repaired. the failure mileage was 58,715.
This is a very well known problem with chevy owners. i have done countless hours of research and seen hundreds of forums and articles related exactly to this specific issue. now it has to be brought to the attention of the federal government to issue a recall. i own a 1.4l turbo automatic 2lt chevy cruze 2012. this problem has been happening since the first year i purchased the vehicle however is getting much worse. reduced engine power. the engine light comes on, a "!" shows up on the screen and the cars speed is reduced to 4 or 5 mph with in a matter of seconds. this has happened to myself as well as hundreds of other people from what the internet says. this is very unsafe especially considering some people have families and drive with children such as myself on highway systems. i experienced this while trying to accelerate into an intersection and got an immediate engine speed reduction. this could have killed my daughter and i if the vehicles in the intersection were unable to stop in time. please do what is necessary to get this vehicle part or issue recalled and or recognized immediately! *tr
The electrical pad that you push to open the trunk is faulty and does not work anymore. only way to get into trunk is to push key fob. if a child or adult got trapped inside it could be harmful due to fact that the push pad for the trunk open is faulty.
My problems started with my trunk popping open on its own while driving and while parked. this is concerning not only to my loss of focus on the road because of this, i also worry about who ever is driving behind me should something fly out of my trunk. also my windshield wiper blade on the driver side comes off the motor clip this is very dangerous while raining i have to drive with out visibility. my car then decided not to start and when i finally got it to start it told my airbags needed servicing, my power steering, abs brakes, traction control, and stabilitrack. there was no control of the car. that had went away and was able to get car safely to the dealership to get it serviced today. this seems to be a problem with other 2012 chevy cruze's in which i have done research. something needs to be done about these electrical issues before someone ends up getting killed. *tr
While driving down the road the radio display goes blank. this includes the radio- temperauire controls,etc- otherwise known as the digital info center. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 chevrolet cruze. while driving approximately 35 mph and making a left turn, the steering wheel seized. in addition, the instrument panel and radio intermittently operated. the vehicle was taken to the dealer. the technician diagnosed that the positive battery cable and generator starter cable needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 47,000.
2012 chevy cruze with less than 25,000 miles on it. while driving, the traction control light will come on the dic and then service stabilitrack and the car would die down for a brief second and the radio will cut off. i made an appointment to a dealer and they said to drive with the traction control off until it gets in. now it is doing the same thing with the traction control off. it is also doing this in reverse! this car is still under warranty with gm, but i'm afraid that i will have the same luck as others on here who are experiencing the same problems and nothing will get fixed. i'm also afraid that this will occur at an even greater rate and longer while driving causing an accident! something needs to be done to fix this problem in this model! *tr
The radio would go off, as well as the dash lights and a wrench would appear but no engine code would appear. this would occur several more times then the entire car would stall out, or turn its self off basically. the key remains stuck in the ignition unable to turn the car on or remove it. all power is lost. i have taken it to my chevrolet dealership many times but there is nothing that they can do because it does not act up for them. what can i do? *tr
Service engine light came on at about 29,000 miles, so i took it to the dealership. after diagnostic it was determined that the thermostat had gone bad, so they replaced the thermostat and the holding mount. then saturday on the way to work the service engine light came back on. i stopped for gas then the car would not restart. i had to have the car towed back to the dealership. it was determined that the cam shaft sensor also went bad. the car also hesitates when shifting gears in low speeds. *tr
Radio turns on and off repeatedly including the upper display, the smaller display flickers and will show a service stabilitrak notice. several warning lights on the dash also light up: brake, stabilitrak , and abs. no gm bulletins nor a recall for this problem and dealership cannot fix problem after several visits. *tr
I purchased my 2012 chevy cruze back in august 2012 at the chevy dealer in montebello with "0" miles. two weeks after i purchased the car it began to give me problems. it began to make this very loud noise like if i was driving a trailer. i took it to the dealer an i was told it was normal which is bs because i've never heard a small car that makes noise like that. i wasn't allowed to get refunded i was just given a bunch of bs. a month later it kept doing the same thing but this time the noise was coming from the hood, took it to the dealer and nothing. 3rd time i filed a complaint and said i was going to file a lawsuit and the took my car in an apparently they had to change my radiator, fan, brakes along with the disk. even after all this my car continued doing the same thing but now it turns off!! i tried to turn on my car this saturday and it just wouldn't start. it said something about theft, i disconnected the battery and then it gave a message about check power steering! this will be my 5th time taking it in! i think i have gotten ripped off!! i regret purchasing this vehicle!! now im stuck with a jacked up car and a very high car payment that is not even worth paying for. and to top it off the dealer i purchased it from is no help!! they seem to get upset every time you take the car and tell them there is something wrong with it. im a mother of 3 and my biggest fear is something happening to my children because of this. i purchase this car because i needed something reliable since im always on the road. one thing for sure, if any of my children get hurt because of this i will file a lawsuit because you guys are receiving many complaints and you are not doing anything about it.!! *tr
First the car would not start. after multiple attempts it did start and service anti theft system flashed. shortly after, while stopped, all of the dash lights began flickering on and off causing multiple service codes to flash. then while driving the power steering would stop working at random times. *tr
Besides the transmission complaint i have already made, i am also experiencing constant electrical issues. an update was already ran on the car's computer for this complaint and the ignition switch was lubricated (hopefully that will prevent the steering lock up that others experience). neither gm solution has provided an end to my trouble. dinging when keys aren't in, car won't always start, service this or that dash lights, radio display goes on and off, i can't open my trunk without the push button key fob, the steering is now pulling, and also the headlights are now turning off and on without my hand. there is something wrong with the electrical components of my car, things i should never have to concern myself with...which could lead to any malfunction but the chevrolet techs can not diagnose what they see with their own eyes because the computer of the car doesn't tell them anything is wrong. aren't there alternate troubleshooting methods included with the blueprint they designed besides relying on a possibly third-party control module that isn't logging errors? i just hope i'm ready for whatever happens and that i can control a loss of power without suffering injury to myself or others. scary things to think about on a 100 mile one way, highway speed commute. all of these cars should be overhauled or replaced instead of waiting to see which one's computer from which line crashes first before we put out a recall. these are real safety concerns that are killing people. concerns that i can't just trade off to another blind consumer and their family. concerns that either consumer or manufacturer have to pay for. we pay with our safety and hard earned dollar to own their vehicles that they make and don't take responsibility in maintaining a standard for. *tr
Car radio kept cutting on and off multiple times before all of the car lights flashed on the dashboard and steering wheel became stiff. i pulled over on the side of the road, cut the car off and pulled out the key. i put the key back in the ignition and tried to start the car and it wouldn't start. the lights and radio didn't even come on. i couldn't put the key back in the off switch nor could i pull the key out. after about a minute or so my radio came on and i was finally able to start my car. *tr
Since purchase as used, slow start speed with the engine almost cutting out. radio flickering on and off. engine cutting out when idling. engine light for mass air flow (maf) sensor replacement. replaced maf sensor and problem remains. engine fan staying on long after engine has shut off and cooled. service lights coming of for stabilitrack and other random issues. front cigarette lighter won't charge devices. tire air pressure sensors backwards on display, i.e. display right front tire is actually left front tire pressure. *tr
I bought this car for my daughter, the second or third week after she got it she started to notice the radio flickering on and off while driving for no reason, which eventually led to the radio flickering continuously after using blinkers &windows. "service stabilitrak" flashes on the display often but very quickly and goes off. doesn't occur every time i drive, but it does it more times than not. now the radio will flicker and i will occasionally lose cruise control and power steering. i also have no blinkers/radio when this happens. it usually only happens briefly and will return to normal soon after, but it continues to do it off and on until i park. i have also noticed this occurring when i shift gears to park. most recently i went to start my car and it just clicked and wouldn't start. i got it to start and it said "service anti theft deterrent," then changed to "service power steering" just as i lost power steering while driving. "service stabilitrak quickly flashed next all while i lost blinkers, power steering, and radio. i parked, turned my car off and restarted it and it was just fine. it has been to the chevy dealer once but they could not get a code to read because they can't get the radio to flicker, etc because it only happens every so often but when it does happen it is scary! so there is nothing they can do to fix it. please look into it as i do not feel it is safe for her to drive. this has been going on for 3 months now and i do not feel like this car is reliable which is the reason i bought it! there has to be something that can be done as i have read several complaints that are extremely similar to mine! i also have come to the conclusion that the problems are going to continue to worsen after reading the other complaints.it is a major problem. please don't wait until something tragic happens before something is done about this! please! *tr
Driving down highway and the dic starts flashing and then the power steering failed and the car then lost power and the engine cut out. i was able to pull the car over to the shoulder and stop the car. i was able to restart the vehicle. i took to dealer and they replaced the negative battery cable. i soon received an extended warranty for the cable from gm for 10 yrs or 120000 miles. so they are aware of the issue and cars cutting out and losing power on the highway is not considered dangerous to the drivers or their passengers.
Driving on interstate 10 when electrical lighting, radio, etc start blinking on and off. i was on my way from florida to north carolina when it happened, i turned around and went to chevrolet dealer where i bought it, was checked out and mechanic said they couldn't find anything wrong. drove to north carolina and when i arrived at my son's home the same thing happened twice. we took it to chevrolet dealer in mooresville,nc, they found out through gm it was the electrical box causing all the problems and they replaced it with a new one. i wasn't in an accident but it made me scared to drive it. i feel as though gm should have recalled it and not make the consumer wondering. i would like gm to be notified about this and to also hear from them. *tr
Stopped car tried to back up and it did not, then tried to turn off vehicle and the key would not go into the turn off mode. could not turn the steering wheel, could not release the key, could not turn off the engine. the radio kept turning itself on. waited 2 hours for triple a to come to tow the car to dealership. engine ran for two hours. tow arrived the driver said he had to force the gear shift several times in order to release the steering wheel and key and to turn off the engine so he could tow it. also noticed an anti-freeze leak and this is being fixed under the power train warranty, do not know if is connected to the same issue. dealer can't find anything wrong and i am afraid to drive this car. *tr
