We will be driving and all of a sudden the car stalls out. it has been doing this for 6 months but recently it has gotten a lot more frequent and i had my battery tested and it's not that. also, my windshield wipers work but they are stuck in the upright position. i took it to a dealer ship and they said it was the motor and it was over 300.00 to fix it
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 chevrolet cruze. while driving 70 mph, the check engine warning indicator illuminated as the speed independently reduced. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the front valve cover needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 86,000.
Takata recall the pcv valve is built into the valve cover, there is a spring in the pcv valve that fails causing the emissions computer to not work correctly. failure of this spring cause rough idle, loss of power, and failed emissions test. multiple reports have been made.
My 2011 chevy cruze throws two codes cam shaft position sensor and crank shaft position sensor we've replace them twice engine still throws the code. my car when i back up jerks some times and and the taillights flicker. i'm getting tired of replacing these parts. it's been going on weeks and i've replaced them twice now.
I purchased a pre-owned 2011 chevy cruze in august of 2016. in december, i was driving on the highway and my car started to jerk as i pushed on the gas and it wouldn't accelerate. i pull over and parked the car to see what was wrong. i restarted the car and put it in drive, but it wouldn't go forward; however, when i put the car in reverse, it moved. my mom called the dealership we bought it from to claim the lemon law, but their response was that they couldn't do anything about it because the car was older than 30 days. she was also told that the lemon law does not apply to used vehicles, so my dad had the car towed to chevrolet. they said that the transmission was the issue. my issue is that i had this car for 4 months. replacing or getting the transmission fixed costs more than the car is worth. i do not have the funds for this being that i am a college student, and i need this transportation. i can't trade this car in since it's in this condition. my other issue is that there is no recall for this malfunction in this particular vehicle. after doing some research on this issue, i realized that there a lot of people dealing with this same problem and others regarding the transmission. i believe there should be a recall on the transmission because this issue is extremely dangerous. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 chevrolet cruze. the contact stated that the vehicle experienced an issue with the shifter not shifting and the vehicle not decelerating. in addition, the vehicle would not accelerate past 30 mph. the failure occurred without warning. the vehicle was towed to the dealer, but diagnostic testing was not performed. the manufacturer was not notified of the issue. the failure mileage was approximately 107,000. the vin was not provided. updated 01/25/17*lj *cn
While driving down a city street, the vehicle was stopped at a stop light. just as it was about to move forward as the light turned green, it went into engine power reduced mode and prevented the vehicle from moving forward at a normal rate of speed. thankfully was able to get the car off the road. had to be towed to mechanic. the conditions were cold (about 20 degrees), with no ice. further warnings included traction control servicing, but there were no issues with the traction control system. mechanic is saying it is a throttle body issue.
While driving to work i received the turn off ac engine to hot warning.the temperature outside was in the 50's. pulled over and saw the coolant was low, added coolant but it wouldn't stay in the tank. took the car to arrowhead chevrolet in peoria,az and was told it was the water outlet housing leaking and cost to replace was $490.00, the car has 69,000 and shouldn't be having this issue, the dealership could care less, called gm warranty and was told basically too bad and we are sorry but it's not under warranty and we will not provide cost assistance for the repair. currently there is a recall for the coolant leaking at the water pump, but gm feels it shouldn't cover the water outlet housing. i'm sure it's leaking from the water pump but the service manager just wanted to make a dollar off a poor single mom. shame on gm for knowing the issue with the coolant leaking isn't just related to the water pump but the whole cooling system!! *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 chevrolet cruze. while driving 35 mph, the air conditioner indicator illuminated and the temperature gauge displayed that the vehicle was hot. the vehicle was taken a dealer where it was diagnosed that the cooling outlet pipe was leaking. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure was not remedied. the failure mileage was 76,000.
The car has a burning electrical smell. sometimes we can smell the odor in the cabin, but mostly coming from the engine after we have finished driving the car and walk around the front of the car. the odor has been present since we purchased the car in november 2016.
This vehicle safety complaint is in regards to my 2011 chevrolet cruze lt, which was serviced at ourisman chevrolet of bowie, a general motors (gm) authorized dealer, for the repair of my vehicle. i incurred charges for unwarranted maintenance repairs on the following dates september 26-october 5, 2016 ($134.95 and $139.07 (cost for a new battery)), april 26, 2016 (warranty covered repairs), april 11, 2016 ($590.92), and april 14, 2015 ($382.14) that never addressed the safety complaints i made, all of which were handled by service advisor buddy reio. on these dates, i took my vehicle to be serviced for experiencing hazardous issues with its electrical systems and reduced engine acceleration while i was driving between 40-55 miles per hour. without warning, my vehicle's speed would decelerate (both on the highway and residential roads) and my car doors would begin to lock and unlock uncontrollably with error messages 'service stabilitrac,' 'service parking assist,' and 'service airbag' displaying on my dashboard. after about 30 seconds of this condition, my car would resume normal functioning. i incurred $1,247.08 in unwarranted repairs for my vehicle, which was never properly diagnosed, leading to my vehicle shutting down while i was driving it on october 22, 2016. on october 22, 2016 at 3:20 p.m., while driving on a busy thoroughfare, my car decelerated and error messages displaying 'service stabilitrac,' 'service parking assist,' and 'service airbag' showed. after approximately 30 seconds, the car began to shut down and i managed to steer it out of the way of oncoming traffic. i immediately contacted chevrolet's roadside service and informed the representatives that my engine would not start and i was stuck on the side of the road.
I was driving to work on oct 10, 2016, a bit before 3:30 pm on the belt parkway in brooklyn ny. i was going slowly as there was heavy traffic. i had been driving for 90 minutes when i turned on the ac and immediately noticed a strong burning smell, so i turned the ac off. a few moments later i noticed wisps of white smoke coming from under the hood of the car. by the time i was able to pull over (less than 2 minutes) heavier white then gray smoke began pouring out and various warning lights came on in the dashboard. i got out, grabbed my belongings and called 911 within 3 minutes of pulling over. an off duty fireman attempted to assist with a fire extinguisher but in minutes the front of the car was ablaze. firefighters responded quickly but the front of the car was engulfed in flames and it is a total loss at 67,000 miles. in 4 years of owning this car i had 3 recalls (one for engine fire) and multiple letters from chevy of other issues that might arise (the last was for the accelerator pedal possibly coming off). i've never had a car with this many issues.
I have been having several issues lately that are not covered under warranty with my car. power train issues, stability issues, sensor issues. these issues have happened on and off and some have been fixed before and they keep getting worse. the car starts shaking really bad when i am driving. it does not feel safe. *tr
When i am driving down the high way or if i am going up the hill my vehicle feels like it is going to stall so i have to pull over to the side of the road. it also was a salvage title and i had no idea when i bought it i found out it was a salvage vehicle after i took it to the dealership to fix my recall in which they claim they fixed my recall but i took it to another mechanic and they told me the recall was not fixed. the recall was a transmission control module. also when i bought the car i took it back three times and they said since i paid cash for it there was nothing they could do i feel like this was a lemon.
Transmission jerks extremely hard. when air is on car fails to accelerate at all. idles on its own, jumps gears always. fuel system is bad, it chokes constantly and wont start some days. it vibrates extremely hard and i had it serviced 1 month ago for shaft case. this is the worst car ever!!!!!!! its a danger to drive it wont pick up speed and when the air is on it wont move at all. if still at a light, it will jerk extremely hard to where it jerks me. when in park it idles itself. if i'm entering onto the highway it wont pick up speed even if the air is not on. when i reverse and go back to park it jerks extremely hard. i hate this car!!! sometimes it doesn't want to stop.
I bought my car march 2015 and i have had nothing but problems since i got it. i still owe $ 8000.00 on it and the gm company told me my motor is blowed. my father is a mechanic and took a look and said he believes my car jumped time because my water pump quit. morgan mcclure told me they would fix it but it will cost me 3500 dollars. i think all these cars need to be taken off road and everyone who has had issues should get placed in another car.. i am paying a total of 17,000 for my car and its not even drivable. i will never by another cruze and i will let everyone know the issues so they don't buy one earthier. ive been ripped off with this car since the day i bought it . this is exactly what happened to my car.. i drove my car to work with no issues. when i got off work i crank my car and drove it to morgan mcclure to get a reservoir cap for my car because it wouldn't tighten down like it was stripped. i cut my car off went in to morgan mcclure and bought cap. put it on and my car wouldn't crank back. they looked at car and charged me $35.00 for looking at it for 2 seconds to tell me it has no compression and my motor is blowed. they told me they can fix it but i need a new or used motor and it will cost $3500.00.
Loosing antifreeze, constantly overheating and may have blown head gasket in motion and sitting still. i am very dissatisfied with the purchase of this car! it has been nothing but trouble and very costly buying antifreeze once a week at $20.00 a jug for half and half. i hope and pray that this engine will be recalled!!!
2016 ecm reprogramming recall ever since i brought my car in for the recall in 2016 to have the ecm reprogrammed, i have had severe issues with very rough idling, slow acceleration, and inconsistent fuel usage. check engine light comes on and lists several sensors that need to be replaced. we replaced all of them and the problem still comes back. now the codes indicate there is a catastrophic issue with the ecm and chevy will not cover it even though this issue started from their own recall.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 chevrolet cruze. while driving at an unknown speed, the check engine warning light illuminated intermittently. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the pcv air charge bypass tube needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. after the repairs, the vehicle began to increase in rpms while idling roughly. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer, but the cause of the failure was undetermined. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that there was a vacuum leak and the diaphragm and valve cover assembly needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 38,064.
Drove about 45 miles and parked vehicle. noticed engine fan running hard, shut off vehicle and went into store. returned to vehicle twenty minutes later turned on car, fan still running hard. pushed onstar button to get diagnostic check. engine error code found, advised to take to dealer to investigate. started vehicle about ten minutes into drive, could smell coolant from engine and vehicle slowed and chimes came on with dash reading: engine overheated stop car and turn off engine. had towed to dealer, they say a port is cracked in cylinder head and coolant leaking. will cost $500 to fix. vehicle has 59,000 miles. also engine makes popping noises after running on highway and come to a complete stop. sitting at light or stop sign and it pops four or five times. don't hear it when i'm driving. these cars are lemons, gm needs to recall them and give us our money back!
I bought the 2011 chevrolet cruz in 2014, i used the car primarily for work so throughout the first few years i didn't notice anything strange as it remained parked most the time. when i did start driving it as a primary vehicle the first issue i had was the clutch and gear system seemed to be touchy when the car was in park, resorting to me using the emergency brake every time i would park it. at the time it didn't seem to be a big issue as it became a habit. in 2016 shortly after this my oil consumption and turbo failed, and the vehicles exhaust started blowing blue smoke and the car lost all power. as this was a new car i took it to a mechanic and had vehicles turbo replaced. just over a year later in 2018 the vehicle is exhibiting the exact same effects such as removing and replacing the eco,1.4l engine, turbocharger, evacuate and replace air conditioning system, and transfer of the fuel and electrical assemblies and engine mounts. i'm almost certain this car is defective and needs to be recalled.
When purchasing my auto 2011 chevrolet cruze i was not told that this 2011 chevrolet cruze had a coolant leak that the company could not repair. before i purchased my 2011 chevrolet cruze a guarder plate was installed too keep the leak from burning off of the motor and no repair to stop the coolant leak. my 2011 chevrolet cruze over heated and i was sent a letter that chevrolet company would replace the coolant once it get low. i told them that this coolant is also inside the cab of my 2011 chevrolet cruze and they said that i would be charged to have my 2011 chevrolet cruze checked for reason of leak but once coolant is leaked out or low they would replace it. this chemical is a labeled 'a' poison for humans within it's label. which i have had those affects from it's release at this point. i cannot get chevrolet to fix this and they said that they'll not fix it just replace coolant just for 2016 after then they'll not replace leaked coolant. i asked them if i could have the 2011 chevrolet cruze checked without having a service charge and i was told i could not that i'll be charged a fee. i was offered a $2000.00 voucher to purchase another auto. being once stress of over heating or correct levels of coolant withing vehicle coolant functioning components cannot operate normally i'd have to replace those components and if not under components warranty i'll be charged service visit and parts and labor rendered. i mentioned that this coolant chemical burn off is causing sight effects and that it continues sending those chemical coolant fums into the cab of the vehicle and i'm taking medication for those sight effects of the coolant's chemical burn off. again (general motors corporation legal agent said that's the legal offer and if not agreed active case file would be closed. on 3/10/2015 my case file closed with no resolution.
Car will slow to 2 mph with the warnings "low engine mode" and "service stabilitrack". can be going any speed and this happens. have had the car towed 3 times for this same problem. each time they tell us it is another part that is defective. we have spent approximately $2,000 on repairs for this same issue. my main concern is that my [xxx] year old son who drives this vehicle is going to get killed. if this happens on a highway with a semi behind him, the semi will not be able to slow down to that speed that fast and will run right over him. there are numerous reports of this same issue on 2011-2015 cruze vehicles that you can find anywhere on the internet (even on gm forum). i would like to know how many people have to die from this issue before a recall is made on these vehicles? *js parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).*cc
I am a fire investigator i work for the los alamos county fire dept. i investigated a vehicle fire that originated in the engine compartment, vehicle was stationary and had just been driven approx.. 1 hr. the vehicle is listed as having a recall nhtsa campaign number: 12v288000. it appears that even thought the vehicle was serviced for the recall the same problem and resulting fire happened. vehicle began to smoke after being parked and fire was witn
I first took my cruze to the dealer because of leaking transmission fluid from a defective seal on the transmission box. they also said the battery was cracked. transmission was covered under warranty, but i had to buy a new battery. really? after that work being done, i noticed the smell of anti freeze. dealer said a hose was split, but when i asked to see the hose, they said the end broke off when they were replacing a clip blamed on the anti freeze leak. i had to buy a new hose. said they checked the system for leaks and there weren't any. the car stopped leaking for a while, but now i have puddles of anti freeze on the garage floor and a nauseating smell around the car. i am going to go to a different dealer for a second opinion, but i fear i have a real problem and from what i've read it is common with this car and gm hasn't done much to help the consumer. i believed in buying american, but it won't be another chevy.
Takata recall'' a whole burn into my air condensor causing my fluids to leak out and causing a bad smell
My car from time to time shows an error saying reduced engine power. the whole car kicks down and unable to go over 10 mph. this has happened a few times and once on the highway. it didn't do it again for awhile but then again today it did it. i have read a few blogs that is a common problem with chevy cruz and i don't believe it's covered under warrany. this could be a deadly fault with this car. you get no notification that it's going to happen.
I've owned my 2011 chevy cruze for 4 years and i have had on-going issues with a very distinct smoke/coolant smell coming from the engine. it is more noticeable when the heat is on. in doing research, this is a well-known issue. i've taken my car to the dealership on three seperate occasions and they cannot fix the issue - it keeps coming back. i reached out to chevy to file a complaint but i am not getting help from them. the odor that is coming from the car is so bad that i have to roll down my windows in the winter. it is either no heat, or heat and windows down. i know chevy is aware of this issue - it is all over the internet - however, they are not doing their part to fix the issue. i am concerned for my health - whatever i am inhaling is not healthy. it gives me headaches and makes me feel ill. please help.
On december 21, 2015, while on my way to work in dearborn in rush hour traffic at 7:15 a.m. , traveling south on southfield freeway at 65 mph in the fast lane, an alarm sounded and my rate of speed was reduced to 10 mph, an exclamation symbol appeared on my display with the words "reduced engine power". i immediately turned on my hazzard lights. cars travelling behind me had to slam on their brakes to avoid hitting me. the shoulder was not the adequate width to move the vehicle off the road to get out of the way of traffic. i pulled off as much as i could and switched the car off, this reset the problem so i did not have reduced engine power and i was able to travel and exit the expressway safely. the problem happened again on the road to my office complex parking lot. i have had the problem fixed at the gm dealership. i feel this type of issue should not happen and poses a very serious threat to the safety of the driver and passengers of the car affected by the malfunction and other motorist that are on the road. it is important to make sure this does not occur on other cars.
The cooling system in my 2011 chevy cruze has failed for the 3rd time in my two year ownership. this is dangerous, my car overheated and went into idle mode on a 70mph interstate(81) with my family still inside. chevy denys any problem! multiple class action lawsuits have been started regarding the faulty cooling system but they seem to just disappear. my car constantly smells of nauseating coolant and has been "fixed" twice now. so what gives? why is this not being addressed? the nhtsa needs to handle this problem as it is bigger than chevy will ever admit.
On 12-5-15 i was on my way to ct from mass and was on 91. about 45 minutes into the trip the car began to loose power and the check engine light came on and the service stablitrack light came on. as soon as the light came on the temperature gauge and rpm gauge would fling up and down quickly! i immediately went from 65 mph to 30 mph.( i was almost rear ended by a car behind me) i coasted my way to the right lane and was able to get off the exit. the car took about 4 hours to go back to normal. ( i returned to mass, i had to take the back way home and avoid the highway as the car still had reduce speed) the car will return to normal and the check engine light will go off. everyday now the check engine light will come on and it will say service stablitrack. the car immediately looses power and you can hear the engine (sounds like a fan blowing hard) the transmission will not shift. the rpm will jump to 4-5 while only getting to a speed of 35 mph. the dealer has no idea what i am talking about. this car was bought in january of 2015 and has less than 65,000 miles on it. i have read a few complaints about this similar situation happening to the same car i have. this is a safety issue!!! the car has been serviced on time!!! please help me!! i refuse to take the highway as i never know when this is going to happen.....
Almost to into a huge accident driving on the high way at a speed of 35mph when my car slowed down with my foot still on the gas. it felt like my gears were shifting without me shifting them. i really don't know to much about cars but i know this wasn't supposed to happen while driving
A recall on the valve- cover gasket potentially causing a fire from oil leakage has been reported in the local paper, but not on my make/model. i have the oil leakage and can smell it burning off something. this was not a problem until after the dealership had to rebuild my transmission. my car has 74,000 miles.
My husband noticed the coolant level was low while changing my oil. he filled up the coolant compartment. a week later, my battery died, so when my husband when to jump my car, he noticed the coolant level was once again low and that there was coolant present on the engine hoses. he filled up the coolant again and it is steadily leaking coolant when the car is running. i received a letter in the mail from gm in 2014 about possible coolant leak. the letter told me to take my vehicle in for service if there were any issues with the engine cooling system. i was not having issues with engine cooling at the time, and i put the letter to the side. two months ago, my ac broke due to a rock hitting it. when i took my vehicle to the chevy dealership for the ac, they noticed the open recall for the cooling system and recommended i have it looked at while i was there. they proceeded to inspect the engine cooling system, at which time it passed their inspection. now two month later, the problem is present and the chevy dealership claims that it will not be covered since that recall is no longer "open" on my vehicle. that is not fair in my opinion.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 chevrolet cruze. while driving approximately 55 mph, the engine overheated. the vehicle was towed to hardy chevrolet (2026 macland rd, dallas, ga 30157) where it was diagnosed that the reservoir and hose needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. months later, while driving, the stabilitrak warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was taken to steve rayman chevrolet (2155 cobb pkwy se, smyrna, ga 30080) and repaired. while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was towed back to steve rayman chevrolet where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired due to cost; however, the vehicle was taken to an unknown independent mechanic for repairs. a year later, the vehicle was overheating again from the engine and an abnormal odor was coming from the air vent. in addition, there was white smoke coming from the tail pipe. the vehicle was taken back to hardy chevrolet where it was diagnosed that a new motor was needed. the manufacturer was notified of the failures. the approximate failure mileage was 170,000.

My check engine light will not clear no matter how much work i have done to my car. it's had roughly 5 grand worth of repairs and it's still shaking when it idled or jumps forward when i accelerate after a red light or stop sign
Existing recall recall number: 12v288000 applies to my vehicle despite my vin not qualifying for this recall. i have had to replace several parts relating to engine cooling including a water pump on two occasions within 9 months. it is well documented with my gm service center (bergstrom gm of neenah, wi 920.722.1111) and other certified mechanics that oil has been found and cleaned out of several areas of my engine including: the turbo charger, intake manifold, throttle body, charge air cooler and its inlet and outlet pipes, and cylinders. in addition, my thermostat has failed and does not notify me of an over-heating issue. an overheating engine that leaks oil throughout with no warning from the thermostat is a recipe for disaster.
This incident with my chevrolet cruze has happened on more than one occasion in the same month. i will be driving, coming to a stop and the whole car will turn off on me. the air conditioning shuts off, radio, the whole car powers down. i put the car into park, turn off the car, wait a few minutes and turn the car back on. praying that me and my two year old don't get into an accident throughout the incident.
Tl* the contact owned a 2011 chevrolet cruze. while at a stop light, the contact noticed smoke coming through the vent and into the cabin of the vehicle. moments later, smoke and flames appeared under the hood of the vehicle. after exiting the vehicle, several explosions were heard coming from the vehicle. the fire department extinguished the flames. the vehicle was destroyed. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 46,000.
Practically every day i drive my car, i experience extreme shifting and transmission issues. specifically, i have to floor the gas pedal for the car to move from 2nd to 3rd shift. this is an automatic car, and it drives like a poorly shifting manual. it is extremely unsafe to drive because it does not accelerate when i hit the gas pedal, rather the engine revs very high and loudly, yet the car does not accelerate. it also has made loud popping sounds from the engine, and the car fills with an exhaust smell, and during the winter coolant smell is obvious in and outside the car. i am very uncomfortable driving-and feel unsafe-driving this car and it is almost four years old with less than 50,000 miles! i have brought it to the dealership on the below dates and they cannot ?duplicate the issue?, thus have not fixed it. on one occasion, the dealership had my car for 3-weeks! i have no idea if the dealership is even daily testing, or driving, the car. i do know, however, it is extremely unsafe because the shifting and accelerating is unreliable and will most doubtable cause an accident injuring myself and/or others. i have also called gm and numerous occasions and they were very unhelpful, stating they never heard of a shifting/transmission issue with the chevy cruze, when in fact the 2011 chevy cruze was recalled for shifting lock cable. i have received, unsolicited; a letter from a lawfirm to sue gm noting this exact issues shifting/power issues (amongst faulty water pumps, which i also had replaced after only owing the car 2-years), so clearly there are many others experiencing these issues. dates brought my car to (sullivan's oneills in avon, ct) 1/16/2015; 5/2/2015; 5/09/2015;5/13/2015; 6/24/2015; 7/17/2015 my gm service tickets are 71-1490864298 & 71-1490864298. the car is either a lemon, or needs to be recalled for shifting/transmission issues.
While driving the vehicle the engine light came on. the car only has 60,000.00 on it but we took it in because the engine would just randomly stop and the car would stall. the vehicle when brought into the dealership, had been inspected and the car was missing parts. the intake manifold non return valve was missing. there was a vacuum leak at the pcv orifice external port. water pump was leaking from bolt holes and cover plate. coolant leak was found even though a few months prior to the leak, chevy "fixed" the recalled item. i believe that the vehicle has many faulty parts and this is the second time i have written a complaint about this company using faulty parts in there manufacturing process. *tr
Takata recall problem is unknown: 1. my vehicle continues to have problems with heating/cooling system. the vehicle looses antifreeze, the casing gets hot and acts as tho its overheating triggering the fan to come on and stay on. there are no noticeable leaks; it has been at he chevy dealer and several other mechanics who can find no radiator leaks. the engine coil, hoses, and heating coil have been changed and it continues to get hot. the vehicle is running when these issues occur. 2. the tracking system lights stays on constantly. no record of a problem by chevrolet service center or any other service center who has used diagnostics to determine why the light stays on. 3. service engine light stays on constantly. the engine coil has been replaced; no other engine problems are identified with diagnostics.
My chevrolet dealer informed me that my 2011 chevy cruze has a leak in the transmission oil cooler lines. is there or will there be a recall for this problem. i noticed (nhtsa campaign number:14v152000) the chevy silverado, suburban, sierra, tahoe, and yukon had a recall for transmission cooler line issues. please let me know if/when chevrolet will reimburse for the replacement and repair for this health and safety issue(potential vehicle fire). thank you for your attention regarding this matter. *tr

About a month and a half ago i had taken my cruze in for service where i was purchased my 2011 chevy cruze. i had a recall on a coolant leak at the pump. i had taken it in for service and oil change. the lady i had communicated with about the problem i was having about a burnt smell when i turned on my heat. she informed me that there was no problems or leak. one day when i was driving home from work i started chocking and my eyes where burning from an intense burning smell. when i arrived at home i popped my hood and noticed there was absolutely no coolant in my overflow tank. i then contacted the dealership and told them what i was experiencing with my cruze. they took action and had my car towed to the dealership where they replaced the pump and coolant lines where there was a leak free of charge. (she no ionger works for the dealership) i do not know how long i was driving my cruze without any coolant. i still have a continuous smell of something burning and have to take it in for service again. i also experience a shack when the car is at an idol. im being to question my purchase of my chevy cruze. hopefully when i take it in for service they are able to pin point the problems and that the last visit i need to make to the dealership. *js
I was driving my car on the way to work one day and out of no where going down my hill my traction control light and check engine lights came on and my dash board said "engine power reduced". it wouldn't let me accelerate so i stopped and shut off the car. i started it 5 minutes later and it ran normal but the check engine light was still on. on the way home from work it did it 2 more times. its extremely dangerous to drive because when all those lights come on your car goes from 60mph to 10mph in 5 seconds. if youre driving and someone is directly behind you theyre going to crash into you. after a day or two i made an appt. to get it looked at and i kept driving it because i need to get to work. now the car not only says "engine power reduced" but it also says " service traction control" but thats not even whats wrong with the car. its the throttle body. now chevrolet is expecting me to pay 500 to fix it and i dont have that, they wont rent me a rental car and i have no other way to work. i pay for insurance for the car through them but apparently anything thats wrong with my car isnt covered by any of the insurance that i bought from them. this is dangerous to drive around and i'm pissed that they don't care or sell me this crap insurance that doesnt cover anything important. i only bought the car 1 year and 4 months ago...there shouldnt be problems with it. the car was in perfect condition when i bought it from quirk chevrolet in manchester, nh. *tr
Never had any problems with this vehicle indicating that this would suddenly happen but it did. i would heat up my car in the morning and the reduced engine light would come on, i would turn the car off and then back on in a couple of minutes and it would drive fine. this happened a few times but then i was driving about 55 mph and then all of a sudden the engine and stabilitrac light comes on and says reduced engine power and the car slows down about 5 mph immediately. this occurred 3 times on my way home that is normally only a 10 minute drive, the very next morning it did it again when starting it up in the morning to take it to the dealership. this happens in the middle of traffic and thankfully did not cause an accident but it could if this would of happened on the expressway. there are several complaints on this issue with the 2011 chevrolet cruze on the complaint forums about the throttle body (dealership confirmed this issue). this is very dangerous! *tr
While driving i lost engine power and had no foot throttle. the check light came on that stated reduced engine power and check stabilatrak. shutting car off and restart did not fix. my car would not go over 4mph and i was nearly rear ended. *js
