Takata recall i was driving on the road and the car behind me almost ran into the back of me because my vehicle would not accelerate the car was still on but it would not move i cried i love my car please help me i pay a lot to dive it now i have to pay for a car i can not drive my kid is sick and i have no way to get to work to pay for medication or the bills it's very hard being a single mother please help thank you god bless 😢 *tr

While driving in town i took off from a stoplight and my car all of sudden did not have drive, it just revved. could not get it to move forward at all. car never shifted right to begin with. we had reverse gear but no forward. changed transmission and tcm and the car will move but continues to rev to high. cannot drive the car the way it is. car only has 55000 miles on it.

I was driving my niece home. got off the highway and felt a sudden jerk. went to push on the gas and the car was not moving well. pulled over to the nearest place. turned off the car and turned it back on. tried to back up, reverse would not work. pushed it out of the parking spot car wouldnt move. manual aspect of car was saying could not shift. service engine lights came on. code read tranmission module.

High rpm with little acceleration. shifts gears slowly if at all.

When i am driving down the high way or if i am going up the hill my vehicle feels like it is going to stall so i have to pull over to the side of the road. it also was a salvage title and i had no idea when i bought it i found out it was a salvage vehicle after i took it to the dealership to fix my recall in which they claim they fixed my recall but i took it to another mechanic and they told me the recall was not fixed. the recall was a transmission control module. also when i bought the car i took it back three times and they said since i paid cash for it there was nothing they could do i feel like this was a lemon.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 chevrolet cruze. while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would not immediately accelerate when depressing the accelerator pedal. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who could not duplicate the failure. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 28,000.

I was exiting interstate 80 on my way to work when the car shifted from 4th gear to 5th gear the motor started free revving. i took the car to my other job where i changed the transmission fluid with dextron vi. the transmission just kept getting worse and started slipping in other gears. amechanic told me he thought the transmission was going bad and i needed to rebuild it or get a different transmission..i took out a loan to buy a used transmission and to n because i work 2 jobs and didn't have time or tools to do myself when the mechanic put the used transmission in the car he said it is slipping also. i'm out $1200.00 transmission has a warranty but labor money is gone plus i'm paying interest on that money now. i always changed my oil put brakes on tires whatever the car needed i did. i bought the car new and hit had a 3/36000 bumper to bumper warranty. the wheel bearing went out at 38 or 39000 miles they said i was out of warranty. i have a 5/100000 mile warranty on the transmission and i'm 3 months and 9000 miles over i cant imagine they would do anything to help with that since they didn't do anything on a $100.00 part..very disgusted with the reliability on these new cars. is there anything that can be done about this please let me know..i drive about 22-25000 miles a year to work.. thank you *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 chevrolet cruize. while driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle shifted from sixth gear to first. the check engine warning indicator illuminated. the contact had to pull over in a parking lot and the vehicle restarted normally after 20 minutes. the failure recurred and would not change gears. the vehicle was never taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the vehicle was repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 92,000. updated 08/02/16*lj the consumer stated the vehicle locked up and went into first gear. updated 08/15/16.*jb

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 chevrolet cruze. while the vehicle was parked, the key turned, the radio worked, and the gear shifter indicator moved up and down the scale. the check engine warning indicator also illuminated. the vehicle failed to start. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the vehicle was diagnosed by an independent mechanic who determined that the prindel shift leveler was not reflecting the position of the gear shifter. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

2016 ecm reprogramming recall ever since i brought my car in for the recall in 2016 to have the ecm reprogrammed, i have had severe issues with very rough idling, slow acceleration, and inconsistent fuel usage. check engine light comes on and lists several sensors that need to be replaced. we replaced all of them and the problem still comes back. now the codes indicate there is a catastrophic issue with the ecm and chevy will not cover it even though this issue started from their own recall.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 chevrolet cruze. while driving various speeds, the vehicle had difficulty accelerating and the rpms increased. later, when the contact attempted to reverse the vehicle, it failed to move. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 11v273000 (power train). the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 70,000. updated 07/22/16*lj the consumer stated the vehicle would not reach highway speed. updated 07/28/16.*jb

When i was driving home from work i noticed the check engine light came on.then after that the transmission slipped .this was on a city street.i managed to roll it to the side of the road.after that i put it in park then drive and reverse and it wouldn't grab. so i turned it off and back on after a few minutes and it was fine for the moment but slipped on my twice after that but managed to make it home a mile away.took it to the mechanic the next day,who towed it to transmission specialist, who tells me i need another transmission put in

I own a 2011 cruze it has had a slew of problems, trans cell blown, water pumps replaced, trans reprogramed, turbo replaced and much more, now the valve body in the trans is bad car has less than 60k and i have mentioned the trans issue since 20k in which i was told i was crazy by dealership and no recall has been issued for this. i do not think gm should be allowed to sell the cruze anymore this car is a death trap waiting to happen just like the cobalt. i am fustrated and fed up. service department is a joke. and the cruze has over 24,000 complaints regarding all the same issues and nothing is nothing being done about the trans issue. dealer opened up my trans today and found clogged 1 and 2 cellinoid and clogged screen as well as broken clip causing hesitation, hard shifting and valve body movement. i think this matter should be further investigated.

My car has a check engine light and i took it to dealer they do not know what the code is, its p057c and i was driving on highway going 70 and car all of a sudden loses power went from 70mph to 5mph in a split second almost got rear ended by a semi truck i am afraid to drive my car for my safety. dealer wants hundreds of dollars just to try and figre out the issue but after diagnostic they still have no clue. so thir plan was to dissect my car like a science project and maybe fix it. they want the car for a week and do not offer any loaner cars. chevrolet northridge dealership california. today 03/04/16 driving to work going 40mph and get to a red light, it turned green i hit the gas and the car just revs and wont go more than 5pmh . i had to pull over and turn car on and off 2 times before i could get to work. and got there late because of this. and again almost got rear ended. i press the gas and the car revs as if it is idling. please make this a recall and help get this fixed. its going to be a reason why a driver loses their life. this is a true emergency since it just feels like the car has a mind of its own. and dealer does not know what to do. please please help!

My 2011 chevy cruze is not shifting properly while accelerating. it is most noticeable while accelerating rapidly on an entrance ramp, it jerks and does not accelerate properly. it makes you wander if it is going to stop working. i have also had a lag in regular shifting. these problems were addressed by my local chevy three times while under warranty and it resulted in rebuilding my transmission. i am now out of warranty and having the exact same issues that it took them three times to fix. i have had this car at the dealer to often since purchasing it. i have also had the air conditioner compressor and fan replaced and all recalls performed. i will never buy another chevy cruze. i do have records of my repairs.

While driving power reduction message flashed, service esp flashed..power was drastically reduced..had to pull off road, shut off vehicle for several minutes and restart.has happened several times.highly dangerous problem

In addition to two complaints filed about this vehicle already. the u.s has no concern for human life in the u.s and is allowing white supremacy to endanger minority drivers and other drivers. the testing of satellite radiological dispersal weapons and remote control systems involving, hacking, backdoor access, remote control, surveillance and vehicle compromise persists. on 12/10/15 and 12/09/15 the vehicle was halted by force from a satellite tracking the vehicle. ample evidence of electrical problems in the car, cellphone tracking and home tracking is available. a federal lawsuit was filed and dismissed without reason of cause to further the hate crime. on these two days i was driving the vehicle one again, and lost control over the vehicle steering and throttle. the issue occurs at stop signs to cause an accident there or at a intersection. the vehicle is purposely tampered with during transit to cause loss of control and throttle. the vehicle throttle is gone, the gas peddle goes limp and the engine stops throttle for a duration. the engine then kicks in full force after a series of hard sputters on throttle jerking the car forward up a hill or into to a stop. i was in highland ny leaving a plaza, where this occurs, and other intersections with lights

Driving at 25mph and slow down to go over a speed bump around 5mph when trying to accelerate after the transmission starts to slip trying to pick a gear had transmission service fluid was black not red

I try to start my car and the car will struggle to start or sometimes not turn over at all and no warning lights on the dashboard pop up. i had recieved a recall notice in the mail a couple of months ago about the power train. when i read up on in it said it may make the car not restart. now if i turn the ignition to where all the lights pop up & put the car in neutral, the car will start up easier for me. i no longer have the notice and am wondering what i should do. when i type in my vin # it say it doesnt have any open recalls, yet i recieved a notice.

Have had repeated issues with service stabilitrak light coming on while driving and then power being reduced to vehicle, causing unsafe driving conditions; following recall to reprogram computer engine fan ran continually for days; car died when startong, dealer replaced computer tried to return with check engine light on, now stabilitrak issue has recurred again. not confident that dealership has any clue what is really wrong with this car. the dealership's most recent guess is that something is wrong with the transmission but that they are getting a code they don't recognize.

It slips out of gear and shifts hard trying to find the right gear

While driving the vehicle the engine light came on. the car only has 60,000.00 on it but we took it in because the engine would just randomly stop and the car would stall. the vehicle when brought into the dealership, had been inspected and the car was missing parts. the intake manifold non return valve was missing. there was a vacuum leak at the pcv orifice external port. water pump was leaking from bolt holes and cover plate. coolant leak was found even though a few months prior to the leak, chevy "fixed" the recalled item. i believe that the vehicle has many faulty parts and this is the second time i have written a complaint about this company using faulty parts in there manufacturing process. *tr

My chevrolet dealer informed me that my 2011 chevy cruze has a leak in the transmission oil cooler lines. is there or will there be a recall for this problem. i noticed (nhtsa campaign number:14v152000) the chevy silverado, suburban, sierra, tahoe, and yukon had a recall for transmission cooler line issues. please let me know if/when chevrolet will reimburse for the replacement and repair for this health and safety issue(potential vehicle fire). thank you for your attention regarding this matter. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2011 chevrolet cruze. the contact stated that while driving at 70 mph, the vehicle stalled. the contact also stated that the lost power, the electronic stability control, and the service traction control warning lights illuminated. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the throttle body control needed to be repaired. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 80,000. updated 04/10/15*lj the consumer stated the dealer advised the throttle body needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was contacted but did not offer any assistance. updated 11/5/2015*js

Never had any problems with this vehicle indicating that this would suddenly happen but it did. i would heat up my car in the morning and the reduced engine light would come on, i would turn the car off and then back on in a couple of minutes and it would drive fine. this happened a few times but then i was driving about 55 mph and then all of a sudden the engine and stabilitrac light comes on and says reduced engine power and the car slows down about 5 mph immediately. this occurred 3 times on my way home that is normally only a 10 minute drive, the very next morning it did it again when starting it up in the morning to take it to the dealership. this happens in the middle of traffic and thankfully did not cause an accident but it could if this would of happened on the expressway. there are several complaints on this issue with the 2011 chevrolet cruze on the complaint forums about the throttle body (dealership confirmed this issue). this is very dangerous! *tr

The vehicle stopped moving while cruising on the highway. the clutch and the flywheel stopped working randomly causing the vehicle to stop accelerating. brought to two separate dealers who say we have to replace the parts. very concerned this is a faulty part, not worn out from the driver. *tr

While driving i lost engine power and had no foot throttle. the check light came on that stated reduced engine power and check stabilatrak. shutting car off and restart did not fix. my car would not go over 4mph and i was nearly rear ended. *js

The chevrolet cruze 2011 is compromised by hacking and tampering and allows for the endangerment of the drive, other motor vehicle drivers or pedestrians. the radio antenna will sound off and constantly make a roaming noise as if being accessed. this is at every stop sign and every stop light or every destination reached by gps markers. the cruze system is allowing the 24/7 tracking when it is used and tampering with the intent to cause malfunction or annoyance. the throttle is being cut off deliberately at stop signs, and traffic lights and destinations, the radio antenna will constantly make a roaming noise "searching or access". the vehicle is deliberately being used for stalking blacks for hate crimes while testing out vehicle halting systems by clearly satellite. this has happened 100 or so times in the 3 year i have had the vehicle and there is no remedy. when other persons use my own vehicle these issue do not arise and i have confirmed this with other owners, my vehicle is a unique occurrence that involves also a hate crime in public, police stalking, law enforcement stalking, home stalking and tampering of all electronic devices i own or use in my home. this car is not safe and the throttle cut offs are deliberate and specific. the throttle as i said already is cut off at a stop sign or mid acceleration with the intent to remove operator control and halt the vehicle. the lights are turned on and off on their own on one occasion. i have had other people test the car, these things do not occur even while i am in the passenger side. only when i am the sole individual driving the vehicle alone is the throttle cut off and the lights tampered with including the antenna for stalking and tracking where i go. this is my second filing to address white supremacy under the color or law that interferes with personal property and use and control of property. *js

Vehicle has had water pump replaced earlier this year under warranty - and had the turbo charger replaced last week under warranty. not covered under warranty last week was a "leaking" battery. since battery was original - i felt it was worth replacing. yesterday, while driving to work, the check engine light came on and the heater stopped working. today - the dealer calls me and states that they need to replace a hose and outlet. there was no leak yesterday - and they state that there is a leak and this is the reason. they want $250 for repairs. the hose was fine yesterday - and the outlet should have been replaced with the water pump (actually they should have replaced the hose at that time also). no response from gm quality care. over $500 in the last two weeks - and i am not certain that this issue is over. it has also had two computers replaced when i first got it. *tr

The vehicle would not shift out of park nor remove the key. the wheel was locked as well as the shift lever. the car would turn on however would not move. there was no lights in the vehicle. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 chevrolet cruze. while driving 65 mph, the vehicle started jerking and the contact was unable to shift gears. the engine stalled and was taken to the dealer, but the failure could not be diagnosed. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 67,000.

I was pulling out of a gas station, use to my normal power and almost got hit because my car wouldn't go over 15mph floored. then looked down and saw a engine power is reduced, service stabili trak and service traction control. so i took to a mechanic he hooked it up and the code showed up as my throttle body position sensor. they replaced it and drove it and it drove fine for about two weeks. i was just going down the road then all of a sudden my car did the same thing. i lost power so fast that i about got rear ended. took it back to the body shop and showed the same code so they replaced the part again. and two days after all this my car is doing this again. this is extremely dangerous at how it looses engine power. it looses it so fast that someone can get hurt extremely bad. *tr

Oil leakage on top of engine, smell of burning oil, loud sound of vehicle, car misfires. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 chevrolet cruze. while driving approximately 25 mph, the vehicle stalled and the esp warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was able to restart. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was unavailable.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 chevrolet cruze. while driving 65-70 mph, the accelerator pedal extended to the floorboard when it was depressed and the contact heard an abnormal noise coming from the engine. the check engine warning indicator illuminated. additionally, while the vehicle was at a complete stop, the accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle only accelerated to 5 mph. the dealer stated that the transmission fluid needed to be flushed. the vehicle was repaired. the contact stated that the transmission was hot and the engine warning indicator illuminated. the dealer stated that the failure was normal wear and tear. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 139,200.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 chevrolet cruze. while driving approximately 73 mph, the vehicle decelerated and the traction control, power steering, and transmission hot warning indicators illuminated. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was notified. the vin was unavailable. the failure mileage was 1,000.

When taking off sometimes it launches fine like a normal car! but 40% of the time it stalls out, than decides to go, which has cause me to almost be hit multiple times. since the first time it happened, its happening more often and shifting harder and harder. if this keeps up im gonna lose my transmission when i really need it pulling out into traffic. i bought a car to be reliable and safe to drive, now i am afraid to pull out into traffic because of the chance it may not go, as if its stuck in neutral. the gm diagnosis was it couldn't be re created and no codes so its performing fine! this is caused me to be scared for my life at times and makes me very nervous during driving now. tried to talk to gm corp about it and the sent me to gm diagnosis to know what's wrong but i've done this and they say nothing is wrong! anyone is welcome to take my car out for a drive to experience the fact that it is not operating right. please help figure out this problem. found many other stories like this on other cruze owners. we need to figure this out before its a recall issues and takes lives! *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 chevrolet cruz. the contact stated that while the vehicle was parked it rolled out of park independently. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer to have a diagnostic performed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vin was not available. the failure and current mileage was 54,000.

The transmission does not engage from a stop to move and almost caused a collision. even on the highway the vehicle does not shift properly and hesitates and when it finally shifts it slams into gear. the mostly occurs from a stopped position and then during acceleration. the dealership said that is how it is designed and nothing is wrong. but the problem just keeps getting progressively worse. longer hesitations and harder shifting. *tr

I was pulling out of the drive through window at mcdonalds and my purse hit the clutch. my car changed gears with just at a slight touch. it has done this before several times since i have owned it. also my back tires never stay inflated. every three days i am usually putting air in the tires. *tr

2011 chevy cruze after recall # 12213 for brake vacuum micro switch has been completed. the vehicle is displaying the exact same symptoms as before the recall work was done. under cold start up conditions (car sitting overt night) the brake petal is difficult to depress so brakes do not stop car easily. this is intermittent. i have discovered if you places the car in neutral while this is happening the brakes start working correctly. sounds like a design issue to me. the dealer wants to replace the part that the recalled micro switch goes into. this will include another switch. this part (#13457666) appears to be the valve that the micro switch opens and closes as needed to provide the needed vacuum. again, this seems related to the original issue. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 chevrolet cruze. the contact stated while the vehicle was being inspected, a mechanic noticed a leak in the transmission. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the transmission cooler line failed. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 40,000. the current mileage was 44,000. updated 08/11/2014*lj the consumer stated the vehicle was repaired. updated 08/13/2014 *js

Since i first purchased my 2011 cruze, i have experienced hesitations in the automatic transmission changing between second and third gear (approximately between 35-40 mph). in the last month, the hesitations happen every time i start from a stationary position. some of the hesitations are more pronounced (i.e., an actual lurching of the vehicle). there have also been occurrences of the car not responding properly to pressing the acceleration pedal. i found this very alarming, as it happened during rush hour traffic. *tr

Turned on car in the morning and received 2 messages of "engine power reduced", "service stabili-trac", service traction control" as well as a check engine light. engine would not go above 1500 rpm's. took it into dealer and was told that i had a transmission leak and because they didn't have time they wanted me to reschedule for the following week. problem continued to happen and on my way in to work on 02/11/14 the problem happened two times in the morning and was forced to put car in park turn off engine and restart. then happens 3 times once on a very busy highway into downtown denver and twice in downtown. called dealership and was told that i needed to bring it in. was told that it was the "throttle body" which is a $450.00 fix not covered under power train warranty . with so many people having this problem and almost being hit every time it happens due to it happening abruptly when cold it is a clear safety issue and needs to be recalled. i sense that if they don't there will be a class action law suite in their future. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2011 chevrolet cruze. the contact stated that after reversing and putting the vehicle into drive, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle hesitated to accelerate. the failure recurred on numerous occasions. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to diagnose the failure. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 15,000.

my children & i almost didn't make it home! was experiencing issues with the heat not heating up the car on tuesday and on yesterday, i was driving north on the 394 expressway and received an error message on my dashboard of "a/c shut off due to high temperatures" so i turned the heat off and the gauge slowed moved back down. however, after driving a short distance further the temperature gauge had moved all the way to the "red" line and i receive the error message to "shut the engine down" because of overheating. i immediately pulled and slowly the gauge moved back to the normal position. i called the dealership that worked on my car less than 3 weeks ago and the service advisor informed me that it may be another glitch but he wanted to ensure that all of my fluids were fine and since i wasn't very far from the dealership to bring the car in (even though their service dept was closing in about 20 mins). after looking at the car, the service advisor informed that just about all of the coolant ran out and there was probably an issue with the water pump. i was shocked, bothered & frustrated because it had been less than a month that i just had to have this car worked on. fortunately, the water pump didn't cost me anything due to it still being under warranty but that still doesn't change the fact that i'm a very dissatisfied customer. *tr

Was parked in front of an establishment and was unable to remove ignition key or move the gear shift up and down. i was able to remove the overdrive box in front of the gear shift so i could shift the car into gear and drive home, however, because the car was not recognizing the gear shift was in park i was still unable to remove the ignition key when i got home so the car's battery died. i contacted one of chevy's tow services in order to get the car towed but due to the car being in the garage, the tow driver suggested that he try to jump the car to avoid having to push the car manually out of the garage. the car started and i was able to drive it to the dealership. after 3 days of working on the car, the service manager told me that the jump may have fried the computer so it needed to reconfigured which cost me over $1000 (due to it not being under warranty). i was only made aware of the many recalls that chevy has had on the cruze due to having to take the car into the dealership again (water pump needed to be replaced) and talking to another customer about my distaste & frustration that i've been experiencing with this car. i was never mailed any of the recalls which i can't understand why as i'm always receiving mailings from the dealership where i purchased my car. i feel as though the initial problem was due to two of chevy's recalls (campaign #11v273000 & 11v270000) so chevy should have paid for the repairs. this issue is one of the many issues i've had since i purchased the car brand new in june 2011. *tr

Every time i use my heater i get a strong burning smell of coolant/ antifreeze and loss of coolant. mostly when i am stopped at a traffic light/stop sign and it's intermittent between slight or really strong. i did a lot of online research and found lots of other people with the same complaints, even found local news stories from other states on youtube. all fingers seem to point to the heater core and or the grease used in the hvac system.the smell is so bad sometimes that i have to roll down at least two windows and turn off the interior fan until i start driving again. i bought the car certified used a couple of months ago and they should have came up with a solution 2 years ago when the problem and complaints started. this issue needs to be recalled already. this is a health issue! i would really like to enjoy my first nice car and not worry about getting sick or dying from this! *tr

2011 chevy cruze transmission problem. occasional hesitation accelerating, clunking jerking transitioning through gears accelerating or slowing down while driving on city streets and highway. tried to accelerate on highway and car took a long while to get up to speed while other cars behind me were honking horns for me to speed up. dealer says all is fine and that's just how the transmission and turbo engine is! can never duplicate this problem. now no longer under warranty, the dealer is willing to keep the car for a longer period. gm says it would "see" what they could do after the dealer physically inspects the transmission at my cost. the dealer charges $145. per hr. labor rate!! i went to another mechanic and had them change the transmission fluid because the dealer said the fluid doesn't need and he said it was black! had it changed after i read complaints on carcomplaints.com. i am just afraid that it will quit on me while traveling at high speed! i can't afford to spend money on a new trans if i will continue to have the same problems. gm should have a full recall on the 2011 cruze. the car had only 29,000 mi. on it the first time i complained and now it has 69,000 and the problem manifests itself a little more frequently but not on a weekly basis. i am at my wits end and the problem is not in my head. people are in danger and gm isn't "owning" this problem. extremely disappointed. i've maintained this vehicle faithfully with oil changes, etc. since day one...responded to all recalls. not going to dealer again. always have something to repair or replace.
